Great little machine

I love these little boxes. I have two running side by side as my main computer where each has it's own monitor. Using Synergy, I only need one keyboard. I'm planning on getting two more mac minis, two more monitors and a VESA-compliant monitor stand that allows 4-6 computers so that I can have my multitasking complex using nothing but minis. It sure beats spending thousands on the Mac Pro to add 4-6 monitors and can be done as I have the cash available.
This machine will run Aperture and Photoshop CS3 but I wouldn't recommend it if you did that every day because the speed will then start to drag you down.

Best mac for your money

This is the best mac that you can get for your money if you're on a budget. I'm typing on it right now. :-) If you're on the edge between this model (the 2Ghz) and the 1.83Ghz, go for the gold...(the better one) It's worth the extra 200 bucks for sure. Because it's that much quicker and comes with a DVD burner. If you're on the edge of either a mac or windows... go mac all the way...you'll be glad you did once you catch on to macs amazing features in comparison to windows.
Absolutely 100% Mac all the way.
Macs forever...

Very Good Second Computer

I have owned two Mac minis and would buy another. This tiny machine proves an age-old adage: You get what you pay for.
In other words, you won't get a screaming fast computer. But you will get a competent machine that works very well. Period.
Mac minis make great second computers. They're extremely quiet, come with built-in wireless card and Bluetooth. The more expensive model includes a CD/DVD burner.
We use five Mac minis in a classroom situation and they are ideal. They are small Macs that work well.
Compare them to more expensive Macs and you'll find they're a bit slower when copying files, they use the older wireless Internet standard so they're a bit slower when using the built-in Airport card to wirelessly connect to the Internet.
But anyone who needs a second computer, wants to buy a first Mac but doesn't have a lot of money, or just needs a very quiet, small computer might find that the Mac mini fits the bill perfectly.
Would I buy another? Definitely. For the price, the Mac mini is a great little workhorse. It might just turn out to be your favorite desktop computer.

proud own of a mac mini for a year now

i have had my mac mini for a year now, and its the best investment and desition i think iv ever made. i played around with macs in the mac store for aboot 2 years and i finnaly saved up and got 1, the only thing i regret is not getting a macbook instead, but its all good. i have this baby hooked up 2 my 40 inch 1080p screan, and the picture is astonishing, the graphics for movies and just anything really r great, except the fact that it cant play games. i use the multiple screans feature ALL the time, its extremely useful. i have a windows computer of higher specs on everything, and this tiny computer still beats it. u may want to upgrade the ram down the road [i still havent] and get an external hard drive. you can basically use any harddrive and format it for macs, and creat 2 partitions, 1 for timemachine, and one for basic storage. the sound on it isnt very good, but iv had it hooked up 2 my sterio. i seem to lose connection with the wireless keyboard a lot, wich i my ONLY real complaint. by all means, get this or some other mac, windows just plain sux. i had a windows computer for not even a week, and it got a virus and crashed.

Not meant for a gaming platform

I read some reviews before I bought this little machine and I must say they are mostly far from accurate. Of course most PC products are not compatible with MAC. Thats a known fact so whining about that wont do much good. This is a beginning mac for those that dont want to spend two grand for the big daddy. This is a great little machine for just everyday uses of gaming, surfing the net and such. Not meant for gaming obviously. I'm thrilled with it. I have it right next to my tv to be used with my online netflix. If your looking at your first mac a great place to start. But remember your using the mac OS which is diffrent and they are not PC friendly generally.

Mac Mini

I bought the mini to try a MAC for the first time and I am extremely pleased. I am currently using it with a DELL monitor with built-in webcam and everything works great (without adding drivers) - I am planning to purchase an LCD HDTV in the near future and hope to use that as my monitor at times - another reason I went for the Mini is its portability. I also purchased the Apple wireless keyboard and mouse and both work great from clear across the room. The mini's wireless internet connection is fast enough for me - I am a casual user and not a heavy gamer. I love the OS-X operating system and the features it includes. For someone looking to try a MAC without putting out the cash for their higher-end machines, this is a good way to go.

With Parallels, this is dynamite

I got tired of having 2 macs and a windows pc with the windows pc being so buggy so I replaced with the Mini and with parallels I can run Quicken, Office 2007, yet when I want to do other things like internet, music, photos, etc., I have the quality of the macintosh system. Some people claimed this machine would be slow so I got the upper model and upgraded to 2 GB and it is fast and reliable, especially compared to the Dell I replaced which was also the same speed and same identical memory.

Mac mini for Maximum Value

the Mac Mini is just the latest in Apple's line of quality products made for the demanding user.
Don't let its size fool you, it is one powerful computer. It's size is a plus for use in tight spaces while it still offers the power and speed needed to get the job done.
The software package is simple and efficient. While being known for graphic design quality, Mac has become more of an all around computer, with programs rivaling PC's. It's intel processor gives it the speed to keep up with or surpass most PC's I have used and its featured software has become more and more compatible with PC.
As with all Mac products, the Mac Mini is a user friendly computer, made with the novice and the professional in mind.
I would strongly recommend the Mini as well as all Mac products to anyone looking for a quality computer at a reasonable price.
