ASUS - BE7200 Dual-band WiFi 7 Router - Black

This router works, right out of the box. Absolutely no issues. I upgraded from my decade old RT-AC87U. It served very well considering it was putchased in 2014! This router is the exact same thing as the RT-BE88U. I dont know why Best Buy had to be different with the RT-BE7200 model number, but they are the same thing. It complicates price match because some people do not understand that they are the same, but its obvious. The router sets up very quickly with the asus app. You have to enable ipv6, security, etc, but everything worked fine right out of the box. Looks sleek and I really like that the heat dissipates ABOVE the device to the open air. Heat rises, great! Be sure to use the asus app to do the initial setup. One firmware upgrade and it’s smart to do that before optimizing the network, so thats great! High speeds, minus the 6Ghz band. Its fine, it just needed to replace the RT-AC87U and wow what an upgrade it is! Everytjing connected and i just turned off the extra IoT network, don’t need it. Maybe I’ll turn it back on for the other random IoT devices, but it probably wouldn’t work since its a separate network from your main network (similar to a guest network). This router gets the job done in all the ways that matter! So glad I now have a stable wifi connection at home once again!! Thank you ASUS!!

First think I think to note is that there is no 6ghz band on this router…clearly says it in the description. I actually bought this because the 6ghz band doesn’t penetrate walls very well and there’s a lot of them to go through in our home. Instead this holds a very stable connect on the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands throughout our entire home. Coming off of an xfinity xb8 we went from barely any connection on the floors above to full strength. Asus has a great app and a lot great includes features. This will do WiFi 7 when anything supports it, but again no 6ghz band. That really shouldn’t matter for most people! The included ports give it some future proofing as well. Highly recommend!

Amazing router package.. I bought two. Backhauled them both over the 10gb SFP+ port.. The stability has been amazing and these are the first routers that have provided at least double the Wifi 6 speed.. Regularly pulling 1.5gb+ speeds over REGULAR Wifi 6. Have been testing Wifi 7 on these units and pulling 1.8gb+ speeds. No, there's no 6ghz band and that's actually fine, it's why it costs less.. but makes up for this in having two 10gb+ ports + FOUR 2.5gb ports and lastly another FOUR 1gb ports. This router also will do MLO so Wifi 7 will take advantage of both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands to hit 1.9gb+ speeds. In comparison, if you had a 6ghz + 5ghz MLO connection, you could probably achieve 2.5gb speeds but good luck attaining a stable 6ghz band connection the moment you connect from an adjacent room. I digress, this router is a WINNER from Asus. I can see it going on sale for $50 and maybe even $100 in the near future making it an absolute insane buy.
