Great connectors for analog audio sources
Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.
With my new home theater installation by Magnolia, I wanted to make sure that I had great connectors for the best possible sound from all my sources, digital AND analog. (I have nearly 1200 vinyl albums from the 60s through the 80s and and close to 400 audio cassettes.) The AudioQuest cables fill the bill perfectly. I'm VERY pleased!
I'm not a wire guy , I normally just go monoprice but figured I'd buy a pair of these and hook them up to my 500 dollar cd player ( marantz 6006 ) I was actually kinda impressed highs sounded better less distortion overall . now are they worth the 94 dollars I payed I'm not sure didn't have any of the lesser models to compare them with but happy with my purchase.
I’ve been using the audioquest golden gate interconnects since July 31st 2020. They’re truly a great cable! They’ve opened up the soundstage substantially, compared to generic interconnects. If you’re on the fence, I’d say go for it! Best Buy has a good return policy if they’re not to your liking. But I suspect you won’t be returning them!
The quality of the cable is fine, I am taking a star off since I thought it would be normal 1:1 cable, it was, in fact a Y-type cable, so I could not use it to connect an RCA output to an RCA input. This is fine if you have a stereo jack you need to connect, but this will not work as an amplifier-receiver cable where inputs/outputs are not next to each other.
A:AnswerAll AudioQuest interconnects use solid conductors which offer superior audio performance but will be slightly stiffer than generic cables which use stranded conductors. Having said that, the Golden Gate cable is one of the most flexible cables in the AudioQuest product line and is quite durable overall.
A:AnswerI doubt it unless you have a big store most Audioquest must be ordered Best Buy doesn't even have full line online you have to look at Audioquest web then go to a Magnolia in Best to order cant be done over phone even. I wish they had at least the full catalog online to order from.
