A: The buttons are across the top. Not exposed when the dishwasher is closed. The model we bought also turns off when the unit is finished washing.

Great Purchase!
The Bosch 500 Series dishwasher was a great purchase for me. I especially appreciate the AutoAir feature. Everything comes out squeaky clean and sparkly bright! The capacity is adequate for my needs and the 3rd rack is a feature I am still learning to use. I appreciate my new Bosch!
