A: Hi Joe, Great question. The DB2D is designed to pair with 800 Diamond products and it needs to have bass drivers with very low levels of distortion in order to seamlessly blend. As such, it is a chameleon and will blend well with any high quality speaker.
Q: Would the DB1D match the same sub DB1 ?
A: The DB1D is a upgraded version of the DB1. Upgrades include improved drivers sourced from the 800 Series, upgraded amplification and a new wireless system for controlling the features of the subwoofer.
A: Hello. While the DB2D can offer a high-end low-frequency performance to compliment many a loudspeaker set-up, for many it is the obvious choice for their carefully chosen speakers.

The DB2D is a fantastic subwoofer. The sound quality is 5 stars but I'm giving it 4 stars because the Android App does not work when trying to initially set up the sub. In the end, it ultimately does not matter because my Yamaha 3070 amp has YPAO equalization routine. After running the YPAO routine, the sub was perfectly in phase with my stereo speakers, B & W 705-S2s. Three sets of feet are supplied with the DB2D: metal spikes for carpet, hard plastic half-moons for hard floors and foam spikes, also for hard floors. I used the half-moon hard plastic/rubber feet on a tiled floor and placed the sub about 5 feet from a corner and about 5 inches from a long interior wall, about 2 feet frrom the left stereo channel speaker. With the bass volume turned up, I can feel the bass from my seating position, about 12 feet away. I tested the sub and found it to be awesome, watching Independence Day and listening to the Dire Straits, Brothers in Arms song. The sub has a trigger which I have not set up yet. It has an auto-off feature after 20 minutes of inactivity and turns itself on when I turn on the receiver - in effect, you do not need to use the trigger. I'm feeding the sub through the LFE RCA jack. This is an expensive speaker but it performs at a level of quality commensurate with its expense. I'm looking forward to years of enjoyment.
