Braun - Series 3 Smooth & Adaptable Rechargeable Shaver

I have shaved with a Norelco for the last 15 years, but I was tired because it never gave me a close enough shave. I saw some ads for the Braun 3 series, then saw this on sale at Best Buy, so I picked it up. What's good about it is it gives a very close shave. Way better than I ever get with a Norelco. The bad is that it is not as comfortable a shave, but this could be because it's getting closer. It's also a little tougher to shave, and takes me an extra minute or two to shave because of the big head. It's hard to get around the mustache area especially. At first I thought I was going to hate it and have to take it back, but when I saw how close of a shave it was giving me, and giving it a few days to get used to, I decided to keep it.

Too soon to tell about durability. But if it's anything like my last Braun, it's 5 Stars! Great for the price; quick to recharge. So far, a single charge lasts about a week (7 shaves). Would rather have a case so I don't have to leave it out on the sink all the time in it's charging stand (the wife hates that!) This is my second Braun. With a BestBuy coupon this cost me less than $30, but the replacement foil/cutter assembly costs around $50! I'll see in a year what I will do when I need to replace it

Was going on a trip and needed a new shaver in a couple hours, so had limited time to read reviews, and picked the highest rated one under $100 that I could pick up in the store - this Braun. I was replacing a 6-year old Braun that always was good for me but finally died. This shaver is pretty quiet, and feels light and comfortable in my hand. I like the grip and the plastic cover that prevents the on-off switch from being turned on by mistake in my luggage. I also like that I can use it under running water in the shower, as this was the only way I found to get the closest shave. It also seems to leave less 'stragglers' on my neck - those long whiskers that lay flat and are hard to cut. However, except when I'm in the shower, the shave is no closer than my old shaver and possibly worse. I expected that 6 years of development would produce something better but no luck. Maybe this is just the limit of an electric foil shaver? Anyway I am disappointed with the shaving performance. Also, it advertises 1 hour of shaving on a full charge but so far (I've had it for about a month) the most I've gotten from charging overnight is about 2 shaves. Maybe the battery takes some breaking-in? I hope that's all it is. Finally, unlike my old Braun, I cannot use this one while plugged in, so if the battery dies I have to wait for it to recharge before I can use it again. For the price I expected more.

I've had this for only about 6 weeks, but it shaves much faster and quieter than my old 3 head rotory! it cleans easily. smoother shave also! wish I had bought this years ago.

Real close shave, quick and comfortable. Excellent grip and style is top notch. Good plastic blade cover not like cheap rotary blade shaver I had. .I ignore low charge light and get two more shaves easily with better recharging. Very easy to clean compared to other shavers that tend to fall apart while cleaning. I have had it for one month, using it every day. It is too soon to judge its durability. The Braun 340S is an extremely well made electric shaver. I does a very good job of mowing down the hairs on your face. Just as important is the trimmer, which works just as well, has an excellent position, and you don't need to turn on the shaver to clean it. What I don't like about it is, when the battery needs charging you can not plug it in and use it. This is probably due to its ability to be use in the wet, which I consider useless. Also, with the placement of the on/off button where it is, I have a tendency to turn off the shaver while I am using it. However, this can be easily overcome after a while,

I had a 5 series with the cleaning/charging station but I broke it after 3 years (my fault). I bought my dada a 7 series, he loves it. So to replace my 5 series I got this one and so far its actually VERY nice... I just wish it was compatible with my cleaning dock, such a waste to throw it out .. The little charging dock was not expected! Nice. My old 5 series was nice, but this actually a much closer shave, they have definitely improved the technology even more since then.

Have used wet & dry shavers for more than thirty years(Primarily panasonic). This shaver is just as good. The panasonic is a very loud shaver. I also think you get more shaves per charge with the Braun. I also have a Norelco wet & dry which shaves the neck area a little closer. All in all I think the Braun is the best of the lot & the most reasonably priced unit.
