Features

Compatible with select Canon cameras

For Canon EOS cameras with an EF mount.

Wide-angle lens for broad composition

Allows you to include more of the scene in the frame.

24mm focal length

Excellent for capturing dramatic landscapes, cityscapes and other wide shots.

f/1.4 maximum aperture

Allows you to capture different types of photos, from motion shots to landscapes, in a variety of settings, including low light. Provides excellent depth-of-field control, so you can softly blur backgrounds.

UD (Ultra-low Dispersion) lens elements for improved contrast

Minimizes chromatic aberration, blurred edges that appear around objects due to colors traveling through a lens at different speeds. Sharply focuses colors for high quality images.

Aspherical lens elements for clear images

Corrects spherical aberrations, out-of-focus or distorted images that occur when light rays don't converge to a single point. A curved lens surface precisely focuses light rays for sharp image quality.

Antireflective Sub Wavelength Coating (SWC)

Minimizes ghosting and flaring across the lens surface even when light enters at high angles.

Rear focusing system with ultrasonic motor

Delivers fast and quiet autofocusing with virtually instantaneous stops and starts. Plus, you can focus manually while still in auto mode.

Tight-seal structure

Dust- and water-resistant construction.

0.82' minimum focusing distance

Accommodates 77mm filters

Accessories included

Comes with a hood, front and rear lens caps and case.

I haven't gotten a whole lot of use from this lens yet, but I'm definitely impressed with the shots I have taken. Everything looks clear with little to no distortion. A great lens for landscape and architectural work. You can never go wrong with Canon L series glass.

Wow is this lens beautiful! Build quality is what you'd expect out of Canon's top of the line. It's rock solid. Feels great in the hand. Image quality is in my personal opinion unmatched for such a fast wide lens. It's most definitely a must have & must buy!

What else can be said for Canon professional grade lenses? This one is fast, clear and bright. No observable defects in any part of the frame. If you are a pro and have a full frame sensor, this is a no brainer.
