Q: What is the height and width of this printer

A: Height: 12.5 inches; Width: 18 inches; Depth (including extended tray): 17.5 inches

Q: Can I print business cards or on cardstock?

A: Yes you can print business cards and on card stock. I use it for notecards all of the time.

Q: does the Maxify MB2720 work on a 5 ghz network?

A: DEPENDS. GENERALLY, ANY PERIPHERAL WILL WORK ON A NETWORK IF IT IS HARD WIRED. PER CANON SUPPORT, WIFI FREQUENCY IS 2.4.GHZ, ONLY. IF YOU HARDWIRE THIS PRINTER TO YOUR ROUTER (VIA ETHERNET CABLE) OR COMPUTER (VIA USB CABLE), WILL IT WORK ON A 5GHZ SYSTEM, JUST NOT ON WIFI. (***IMPORTANT NOTE: DEPENDING ON YOUR AREA, SOME CABLE/INTERNET ENTITIES ARE PROVIDING 5GHZ ROUTERS, ONLY, WITH NO DUAL BAND CAPABIITY. MANY WIFI DEVICES STILL OPERATE ON 2.4GHZ ONLY. SO IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH A DEVICE NOT WORKING; I.E. SOME SMART PHONES, WIFI CAMERAS, BABY MONITORS, PRINTERS, ETC; THAT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM. SPECTRUM COMES TO MIND.***)

Q: Can this printer scan 2 sided and print to one sided? 2-1? Or 2-2? Thanks!

A: When you SCAN you create a file. The SCAN operations (single or two-sided) are therefore independent of the PRINT operation. Yes, with this printer you can scan two-sided documents. After the file is created, you can set the printer to print it either one-sided or two-sided. Presumably your question relates to use of the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) to scan multiple pages, since it's obvious that individual sheets can always be loaded onto the platen manually, whether they are one- or two-sided. When you SCAN a two sided document with multiple pages with this printer using the ADF, it will scan one side of all of the sheets and deliver them to the scanner output tray. You then will manually lift the stack of pages and load them back into the ADF (there's a screen picture that appears on your PC with the instruction on how to manually remove the pages from the SCAN output tray back into the ADF to complete the second side SCAN.) You first use the SCAN utility tool to instruct the printer whether you are scanning one-sided pages or two-sided pages. That way it will pause after all side-one pages are scanned and wait for you to load the stack into the ADF. When you decide to PRINT the scanned file, use the PRINT Properties selection to determine if your printed output will be one- or two-sided.

Q: Is the color photo quality as good as with a dedicated color photo printer? My current Pixma mg8120 3/1 printer did a good job with photo printing.

A: Most likely it is NOT as good. The reason is that the design of the printhead for photo printing vs that for text printing presents some compromises. A dedicated photo printer will never produce TEXT as well as a dedicated TEXT printer. This printer is designed for printing text and charts and does a pretty fine job on photos when you use the best quality and suitable photo paper. But my experience is that by the time you pay for the ink and paper, you get a better product for less cost at your local drug store! And if you don't like the output, you don't have to pay for it when you use a professional printer service!

Q: Does the printer have an AirPrint feature?

A: You actually can download the Canon Print app which allows management of your wireless printer and printing directly from your phone or tablet.

Q: Is the Scanner function compatible with the Mojave update (Mac OS latest update)?? I currently have a Canon Pixma MX870. (After updating my Mac to Mojave OS, the Scanner function stopped working completely.

A: Yes, I am running Mojave 10.14.4 on a MacBook Pro and the printer and scanner work great. To use the scanner, you need to use the “Canon IJ Scan Utility 2”. It is in the Canon Utilities that are installed when the drivers are installed. You should find it by using launch pad. Good luck.

By Far the most frustrating printer setup.

I had extreme difficulty getting this printer to connect to my network. It took approximately 3 hours for this printer to install. The Canon connector app was absolutely useless. I ended up having to manually configure the connection, then by a stroke of luck it connected. Once the printer finally connected to my network it took another 2 hours to configure the scanner so it wouldn't randomly rotate my scanned pages. This printer constantly loses connection to my network, which requires powering the printer down, then restarting and hoping it connects. I contemplated returning this unit, but after the significant time investment to install, I couldn't bring myself to box it back up and drive it to the store. The saving grace to this unit is that the print quality is superb and the print speed is by far the best I've seen. This printer also consumes very little ink, which is a big bonus. Pros: Excellent print quality Excellent scan quality Fast print Fast boot time Low Ink consumption Quite operation Large paper tray (x2) Cons: Extremely difficult setup. Useless and buggy app. Difficult Configuration apps. ADF does not support two-sided scans.

Canon Maxify Mb2720 Wireless All-in-one Printer

I needed to replace my PIXMA All in One, so I looked at other Canon's since I the previous one for a long time and it served me well. The Maxify is an excellent printer, the Fax works well, I haven't gotten the knack of the instant print, but it prints large jobs quickly. This is probably more printer than I need, but the price was good and it has all of the features I want. Good for small offices- if you're looking for that. Only downfall is that I need to turn on and off the printer instead of it shutting down with the computer.

Excellent Printer, Great Text, Good Graphics

This is my third Canon Printer. I really like their line. I have a Pro-100 for photography and use this for everyday text and graphics. It is fast and fairly quiet. The text looks great, almost laser like. The graphics are sharp and clear, but not photographic. I got it because it works wirelessly in my home. Both my wife and I have laptops, and now send our items to be printed without having to run into the other room and plug it in. Installation was straightforward, except for the scanner. The docs all say it can scan at up to 1200 by 1200, but the software they supply seems to max out at 600 by 600. I emailed tech support, and after several exchanges was told I could ignore the pull down menu choices and just type in 1200. It worked. To bad the docs don't say that anywhere. I also like having 2 paper trays. I can now keep envelopes in one tray and regular paper in the other. If you are fitting it into a small space, be aware that the paper trays are not flush with the front of the machine. When you add paper, the trays stick out about 3 inches. I don't mind, because the output tray sticks out even further and covers the trays, but it is a little deceiving when you look at the picture on the box.
