Great upgrade from basic DSLR flash!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit is an good upgrade from the basic flash included on most DSLRs. However it may leave you wanting a better flash when you see what some of the very nice units out there can do for only $100 more. It includes nice features such as being able to use bounce flash (limited to only vertical 45, 60, or 75 degrees) and act as a wireless remote. It can also be used to provide wireless flash as a slave unit. Overall if you are an amateur photographer with a Cannon DSLR and just want a little nicer flash than the camera has built in, this flash is perfect for you. But if you need to use more advanced features such as horizontal bounce flash, and IR focus adjustment, then I recommend moving one step up to the Cannon SpeedLite 430 EX II.

Does the Job
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's fairly small. Good for beginners. Does the job in dark environments. Used it on my 6d mark ii which doesn't come with a built in flash and I think it was worth it.

Excellent flash for Canon Digital Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a flash to take photos at a night wedding. Researched flashes and this one was compatible with my camera, seemed easy to understand and use since there was no extra time for "learning". Bought the Flash with help from a Best Buy associate. Returned home, read the small amount of instructions, slid the flash on the camera, used the AUTO settings, and all worked perfectly. The Flash was a big assist and improvement over the Pop-up flash I was used to using. The flash was not heavy and did not add extra bulk to the camera assembly. It was a definite "best buy"---glad I took the chance. I am completely happy with my purchase.

Did not work
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this product and it never worked once. I thought it might be a cute little flash but it was final sale and I couldn’t return it (probably bc/ it didn’t work)

Compact Flash with Power
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this flash for my new Canon G15 series camera. Since the camera is not as large as SLR cameras, it is a perfect size for this camera and other smaller cameras and fits very easily on the top of my camera. It also only takes 2 "AA" batteries which is much nicer that a previous one I had which was bulky on top of the camera and took 4 batteries. It has enough power to compensate for the lack of light from 10 ft. to at least 30 or 40 ft. away. My only gripe about it is the inability to adjust it in small increments upward. It only has 2 adjustments upward, one being ceiling bounce mode. But unless you're expecting to do some serious photography (even though I'm pretty picky myself), it meets all the expectations of a smaller fill flash at a good price.

Good for beginners!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its is a wonderful piece for those who are beginning in photography or those who are doing as a hobby! The directions are very simple and helpful. It has different degrees of angles that you can shoot with. The only downside I've found on this piece is that it goes through batteries quite fast. But all and all Canon made a very good project that works well and is reliable.

Excellent addition for night photography
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The flash works perfectly with my Canon camera. All I had to do was add the batteries, slide the flash onto the hot shoe connection, turn on the flash and camera and I was ready to start photographing. I took sample shots without the flash and then using the flash and there was a noticeable improvement. The flash is capable of much more and I cannot wait to begin experimenting and exploring all possibilities.

Q: QuestionCan you attach a diffuser to this flash? Looking for a softer light
Asked by jaxck247.
- A:Answer Yes, plenty of online retailers sell aftermarket diffuser caps specifically made for the Canon Speedlite 270EXII. One example, Sto-Fen OM-EV Omni-Bounce Diffuser. B&H Photo, Adoramma and even Walmart sell these diffuser caps.
