Amazing Mouse Pad with Great Lighting

Pros- 1) Great footprint. Just the right size for any task including gaming. It is the same thickness as any premium hard mouse pad. 2) Great lighting effects. Bright and extensive selections. 3) USB Pass-Through - While I am not using it currently, this is the main feature that sets this mouse pad apart from the Razer Firefly. 4) The hard surface is very well textured, but my Logitech G502 responds quite well as far as speed goes. I would say that it is more on the control versus speed side of the spectrum if I had to pin it down, but I think they created a happy medium. 5) Very easy software with no apparent glitches that I have noticed. It can link with other Corsair RGB products, but I tend to like the Logitech RGB lineup, such as the G502 Mouse and the G910 keyboard. 6) Even if the lights die in the future, I am sure it will still be a great mouse pad! :) Cons - 1) Expensive for a mouse pad. 2) Very new and lightly reviewed, but it is just a mouse pad. The lights work, the surface is nice, and the USB port is a bright idea. 3) The USB port is encased in a fairly large hump on the front of the mouse pad. I di not find it a problem, but some gamers who have their mice set to a less sensitive DPI may find it intrusive. I found no issues, but I set my mouse at around 6000 DPI sensitivity. It may be a good idea to consider a wireless gaming mouse if you have issues with the USB port and use it for a flash drive, external hard drive, or some other USB device. 4) USB 2.1 - while it is not a big deal, you would expect USB 3.0 Overall- I think it was a great purchase from a very reliable company. If you have the money to burn on a mouse pad and you want cool lights and the only mouse pad I know with a USB port, don't hesitate to pick one of these up!!! I strongly recommend this product!

I saw this while watching a youtube of a mechanical RGB keybd and had to back it up to make sure my eyes weren't playing trick on me... an RGB Mousepad??? They weren't and I went oout and bought one today. Installation is a breeze, you pluf it into a usb port. Download the 171mb Cue software from Corsair and install it. Now program you lighting to your taste. *Cue is rather easy to figure out in the non-advanced mode The bottom is covered in a rubber-like textured layer. I have no doubt that it will not slip or move around while gaming like muy cloth ones do.(I tried it for 2 hrs after I got home) The surface is a finely textured plastic and it was not long before I wondered why I never discovered the 'hard' mousepads before. They are amazing! The led effects are beautiful! You can customize color, intensity, and speed even on the basic menu in Cue. I opted for one of the preselected modes and just droped the intensity and speed to my liking. This pad has a USB port that you can plug a device into. two would have been nice but one lets you connect the mouse right to it if you like.

It's a really good mouse pad; the texture of it feels nice when moving my mouse around, the color linings are pretty and fancy. However, there's a few bothersome cons with it. The biggest con is that the colors aren't "accurate" so to say. When you set a color of, say, blue, it sets it to blue, but either a light blue, or a dark blue, you can't pick a middle-ground one. And it's very hard to customize exactly what color you want due to this. It isn't "true" colors from the software to the actual pad itself. Not to mention sometimes you lose your customized color settings, and that's very annoying. Another con is that it randomly disconnects for no reason. Then connects again. Don't know why that happens, it just does, and I don't think there's a solution. And lastly the big bump on the top front of the mouse pad? Absolutely annoying when moving your mouse around and the cable getting snagged by it. Just horrible placement, don't know why they couldn't just place it somewhere else instead of the front. Overall, it had potential, and I was excited for it, especially since it was from Corsair, but I'm a bit disappointed and annoyed. I'll deal with it though and still sorta enjoy its aesthetic.

I've been wanting to try out something different. BestBuy happened to have this one on display with the M65 Pro mouse I use and it felt good. RGB might be a little overboard for this type of product but it fits in well with my RGB Crosair mouse and keyboard and my glass side PC case right next to it, plus it was on sale. I've had it for a few weeks now and I'm happy with the purchase. I was surprised to find my mouse glides across this mat with less effort than my previous fabric pads. The only con I can think of is where the cable attaches there is a pretty large box attached and my mouse cord hangs up on it. I think it has to be that large because they have an extra USB port for you to plug your mouse in. In theory, it's good to have that for setups with limited USB ports. However, I have a very clean setup with as few cables showing as possible, so I don't want the mouse cable doubling back with the huge USB connector in plain sight. Some other brands have a more discrete connection to their RGB pad.

I guess it's hard to get excited about a mouse pad, but as it turns out... it's possible. First off, I'm a big fan of Corsair anyway. My keyboard is Corsair, my mouse is Corsair, my PC case is absolutley gorgeous Corsair Crystal Series 570X... heck, even my water cooling solution is from Corsair. The Polaris mousepad feels great under the hand, but that's not an especially amazing feat. What's great is how it looks. It's genuinely cool looking. The software (which is shared by pretty much all of Corsair's peripherals) used to be pretty terrible, but its latest iteration seems stable and is much easier to use, making it fun to experiment with different lighting effects on the Polaris. And it looks very cool. There's also a USB passthrough, which is helpful and pretty convenient. Oh, and did I mention it looks cool? The bottom line is... a mouse pad is a pretty utilitarian thing. Pretty much everyone's got one, and they serve their purpose just fine. But if you're interested in adding a bit of style to your desktop... this helps.

I've always like the hard plastic mouse pads over the cloth ones and this one is by far the best I've had...I used to have the razer firefly and as good as it was the surface seemed too smooth to track my mouse's optical sensor... the corsair's surface is almost like fine sandpaper and has just enough grit on it to have fast optical sensor tracking. And if you love RGB lights this mouse pad can display any color to match your system and has plenty of color cycles to look cool... my only negative of the mouse pad is where the USB cable comes out of the top of the mouse pad is larger than it really should be and on occasions when I'm using my mouse, the mouse cord will catch that piece which can cause issues especially if your play first person shooter games. Other than that small issue this mouse pad is awesome!

      Good construction ... junk software

Comparing this RGB mouse pad to the similar Corsair offering I owned for 1 week, I actually prefer the construction of this unit and the quality of the textured surface. The issue always comes back to the software on products like these. It's a matter of adequate design and testing - which usually is lacking. Both companies offer software that is sloppy and less-than-intuitive. Both offer software that clobbers the COM controls on Windows 10 machines and mess with smooth boot-up & shut-down processes... just check the Event Logs. Razer's software has conflicts with Logitech gaming software which I use for their RGB keyboard and their top-of-the-line wireless mouse. I ended up keeping this pad because the standard cyclic lighting scheme is to my liking - no software needed for that - and the action is perfect. I wouldn't have paid full price for it though. If you're sensitive to software compatibility issues and want FULL control, skip this one.

Did I need an RGB mouse pad? Not really, but it was only 20 dollars more than a decent heavy duty, large, hard top gaming mousepad, and it includes a USB port and can be synced with other Corsair accessories through the CUE software. I say I'd recommend it to a friend, there's a caveat though. If you are already using another company's RGB hardware, and they offer a competing mouse pad, go there. If the extra money would do anything to improve your computing experience, spend it there. But if you're buying into a full set of Corsair RGB accessories, and have the money to spend, it really ties everything together quite nicely. And it is, genuinely, a very solid, thick, and nice mousepad with a very grippy rubber base that keeps it from sliding around on my desk.
