Using X9 as an OS drive is also possible, you can boot from it by selecting it as startup disk, however, since its a USB connections low bandwidth, it may not be suitable for high data transfer from Disk to System via a USB, and as a result, you may notice a performance downgrade. Crucial - X9 1TB External USB-C SSD - Black
I purchased the 1TB and now I have more than enough space on my Acer Nitro 5 Gaming Laptop. It is also portable and very light weight. This item/product is convenient but also useful when you're in need of more memory on your pc. I highly recommend.
