Lots Of Bugs
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality2 out of 5Value2 out of 5Ease of Use2 out of 5This is the buggiest computer I've ever owned. The pre-installed Dell hardware scan can not be disabled, and every time it runs, it automatically restarts the computer and then says it was not shut down properly. Same thing happens if I try to simply put the computer to sleep instead of totally turning it off. Fan runs even when the computer is asleep or doing nothing. Bluetooth mouse regularly disconnects. Incompatibility with second monitor. Apps that run fine on my other machine have problems on this one. I have found workarounds for most of these, but it's annoying. If it wasn't so much trouble to set up a new computer, I would trash it and buy a different one .... and I just might if these things get to be too much of a hassle. Sorry for the negative review. I hope other people bought this machine and love it.

Thanks for your review and we're sorry to hear about the trouble that you've had with your computer so far. We'd recommend updating the BIOS on your computer to help with the fan noise and performance that you're experiencing:
An out-of-date BIOS can cause loud fan noises by having an outdated temperature table for the system. Refer to update BIOS and follow the instructions to update the BIOS on your computer. You can also follow up with our Technical Support Team here - 1-800-624-9896.

i7 “Tiger Lake” 11th Gen, ALL the bells & whistles
|Posted .Features
Quality4 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5As of November 1st, this laptop is one of the first Intel Evo i7 11th Gen “Tiger Lake” powered ultra light 2-in-1 notebooks here on Bestbuy (or anywhere). Pluses: - Fast processor and fast graphics card (faster than our 10th Gen i7 Spectre x360) - Solid aluminum alloy build, refined darker color (not real black though, not as dark as aThinkPad) - Love the Pen storage bay concept. So much better than other ultra books that use magnets to secure the pen to the side of the notebook (afterthought) or smaller than normal pens (Lenovo) that store inside the notebook body. - Has a Thunderbolt 4 port USB-C) , from which it charges too. No more proprietary “barrel charger” connector. - Gorgeous 4K screeen - Acceptable audio, as with all laptops...if you expect marvels for sound from any thin notebook like this... - Easy 360 degree rotation that exudes quality, almost one fingered opening - Windows Hello camera works well, logs you in every time regardless of lighting conditions (also has fingerprint reader) - Camera has a well implemented tiny little shutter (yes a shutter!) that you slide over to totally cover the webcam and ensure your privacy. - Runs mostly quiet and acceptably warmish, until it doesn’t. You do get some fan noise when it’s working harder, and it does get hot at times (like most ultrabooks). Much less than notebooks before. - Not much bloatware to delete once you get it - HDMI 2.0 full size port! - Did I mention the gorgeous 4K screen. Everything looks good on this. Cons: - Looks good, but not as good as the Lenovos or the Asus Zenbook S Flip. I prefer it to the top of the line HP Spectre though with that weird brown/gold color scheme they ship it with. At the time of this writing, the HP Spectre is the only other top of the line Intel i7 Evo 11th Gen on the market. - Could use one more Thunderbolt 4 port (like the Zenbook S Flip), especially since it also charges from that single USB-C port. (It does have a normal type A USB port) If you are in the market for a notebook that will not be obsolete the moment you buy it, get this. 11th Gen y’all, it’s here! -

Better Value than the HP Spectre
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality4 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5After using this laptop for 2 months, I can say that this laptop works well as a light everyday work laptop. Pros: I’m able to start the computer up quickly, and am able to run applications like Excel well. The 4K 16:9 display screen looks very nice on the Inspiron, and makes things look really crisp and clear. The pen that comes with the laptop is a nice feature that is stored safely in the laptop. The pen writes/draws very well with palm rejection, and doesn’t include all movements when my hand shakes. The computer still has some of the legacy ports (USB-A, HDMI) that I was looking for that wasn’t offered with the Dell XPS. The webcam quality is very nice, especially for work and zoom calls. Cons: Even though it uses Intel Evo I7 chip, the battery life is not great. When using the laptop without the charger, it got me to about 50% battery after about 3.5 hours with light usage. I would expect better with today’s laptop. The laptop fan does get a bit loud once in a while and can get a bit warm under load. I don’t know if that’s because of the Intel Optane, but personally I feel that Optane isn’t really needed for SSDs, and probably would’ve prefered the laptop without it. In addition, occasionally (~25% of the time) the fingerprint reader doesn’t recognize my finger, and I’ll have to enter my PIN instead. The keyboard texture seems a bit rough, and I don’t type as quick as I did with other laptops. Overall, given the value, I think at the price point you can get this device (I got the Geek Squad certified open box) and after trying out both this laptop and the HP Spectre x360 14 inch, I ended up sticking one.

Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5I’m not giving a 5 stars, because I feel that the battery does not last long enough as Intel assures that the evo version intervenes to achieve a longer duration. But, everything else is excellent.

Its a good one, just a little hot.
|Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality3 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Really like this computer's design, although Im in trouble and need help has no 10 key numbers (I don't use that anyway). This Dell has all the other features I do like, like fingerprint reader and the pen that allows for writing on the screen. I'm not really techie, but the specs work as well. 4k screen, 16gb, 512 gb 13.3 screen size (which, although is a bit different then the 15.6 that im used to, I find that I actually don't mind it at all). Ok...thats the sugar. The vinegar is it gets really hot when charging, I notice. I mean, you shouldn't touch the battery pack AT ALL, during this process. Ultimately, its fine once its done and Im in trouble and need help doesn't take too long to get a good charge. 2nd thing...this was a out of box laptop and for whatever reason, appeared to have froze on me atleast 3 times within the same day and time frame. Dont know what caused this, because as I stated, im not techie and am certainly not doing anything overly pressing on the processor. Im going to return Im in trouble and need help. Too scared to be stuck with Im in trouble and need help after the out of store warranty is over. Overall a good machine, would definitely purchase Im in trouble and need help again.

Posted .NonTech,
Thanks for your review. We're sorry to hear about the overheating and freezing symptoms that you're experiencing. We'd recommend the following tips to help with the overheating:
Tips for Proper Usage:
1. Dell does not recommend placing portable systems directly on your lap. Due to reductions in the thickness of modern portable systems, heat transfer can be an issue.
2. Using a portable system (Laptop) on a hard, flat, non-cloth surface will increase airflow and reduce heat from underneath and inside the system.
Using the portable system on a blanket, pillow, or other types of cloth will cover up the fan cause the computer to overheat and can cause permanent damage.
3. It is recommended to use the portable system in a Room temperature of 0°C to 35°C (32°F to 95°F) with a Humidity level no greater than 90%.
4. Use compressed air to clean the vents on a regular basis.
5. Using a cooling pad can decrease heat and increase performance.
6. If you want to know the temperature limitations for your system, go to the Dell Support Website, look up your system model then open the user guide under the manuals link.
You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2uJ8AdG.
If you'd like to diagnose the freezes, you can try these steps:
1. Run a Computer Diagnostic. To determine if your computer is experiencing a hardware problem, run the Dell Preboot System Assessment (PSA) Diagnostics. For information on how to run Diagnostics, and to determine the issue, refer to Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2iaiujA.
2. Check Safe Mode for Symptoms. To boot into safe mode, please follow the instructions below:
a) Start the computer.
b) Tap 'F8' on the keyboard immediately and every one second until the Dell logo screen disappears. From there you will see the Windows Advanced Options Menu on the screen. (If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, restart the system and try again.)
c) Select Safe mode with Networking and press Enter.
d) Log on as the administrator or as a user with administrative access.
e) Open applications and test the computer in safe mode. If the symptoms exist in safe mode, please continue the troubleshooting steps in this article. If the symptoms do not exist in safe mode, the issue is likely related to a driver or software and you may wish to complete step 3 to see if you are able to resolve the lockups or freezing.
3. Check for Malware. Malware (Virus, Spyware, etc.) can definitely cause a Windows system to lock up or appear to hang. To check for malware on your system and to ensure that your computer is up to date on security software, visit Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2wWP1zI.

Dell Inspiron 2n1 7000 (7306)
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Gotta say, this laptop is the best so far. I've had for a couple days and everyday I keep messing with it the more is amazes me. I've transitioned from an Inspiron 7373, which I enjoyed so much until its battery started slowly dieing, it had me using it while plugged in. So far with this laptop, there are no signs of overheating like the 7373. The battery life seems to be doing good as advertised so far. It's a 2n1 which makes me love it even more. The quality is amazing, good touch response. The fingerprint is a plus and the keyboard is amazing. The look and feel of this laptop is just WOW! I thought having the pen in the middle would ruin the whole look, but it just makes it ten times better.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This computer is very powerful with the ssd drive it is fast. The one thing that disappointed me was the lack of ports. One usb c port on one side doesn’t cut it, you have to make sure if you get a hub it can still charge the laptop. Even if they had one on each side it would’ve been better.
