To be clear, I am extremely novice with fighting games, but that has not stopped me from enjoying a great game that picks up the DBZ atmosphere perfectly for the most part. The graphics are fantastic, and technically it is a sound game. Each character has strengths and weaknesses. The controls/combos can be set up for the most inexperienced to experienced players. This is largely thanks to the auto combos for novice users, and the ability of manual combos for more damage for experienced players. The story itself is charming so far as it takes place over three separate "arcs" of story going over different details. The story can feel redundant, and dragged out at times because well....it is a fighting game. Still the story is a dragon ball story, that will entertain you if you are a DBZ fan. Highly recommend, and only deducted a star for a story that can be redundant in game play.

I fell in love with this game from the moment the announcement trailer was shown at E3 and the hype machine never died down. I waited a bit to review it to see if my opinion would fade post-release, but it has not. If you have any fond memories of MvC 2, or love the Dragon Ball series, then this game is for you. It's made by Arcsoft, otherwise known as the Guilty Gear & Blazblue devs, and their handiwork shows. It's a stellar example of how presentation can make a video game. Everything is flashy and over the top excitement with an easier barrier of entry for the less experienced fight fans. I highly recommend it.

    Get's boring after 1 week

I'm a big fan of Dragon Ball, I had great expectations of this game, but after playing 1 week it gets really boring. Especially for people without online access. History mode is that make boring the entire game, just a female Majin buu trying to eat everyone. I had to fight clones in order to fight more clones, those clones look like the already known Dragon Ball characters: Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Gohan, Freezer, Cell, etc., but had different and awful colors. It's always the same thing, I just watch the cutscenes for the prettiness of female Majin buu. The good thing about the game is the graphics and that's it.

Great game. Don't like that you have to sign into the network to play the game. There is an offline lobby to play just at home, but no quests are given there and you hand to ooh into network to even get to offline mode. So may be hard to play if don't have internet access or xbox live/psn access. When trying to get into fights, game has one of the longest load times I've noticed for a fighting game. If you can wait out the load times and are ok with network issues, you'll get a very fun and great game to play. Feels like watching the anime. Highly recommended.

ArcSystem Works delivers again! Dragon Ball Fighterz is easily the best team fighter out, maybe even the best fighter period. MvC:I is solid gameplay wise, but sort of lacking everywhere else. Dragon Ball Fighterz not only looks the part, but it has tight gameplay that isn't too difficult to pick up, but still incredibly deep for fans of the fighting game genre. If you like fighters this is the game to own, don't forget to get a solid arcade stick.

This is one heck of a fun fighter. It is not entirely online as one person once asked, but has a good mode for competition. Local also. 3 on 3 tag bouts much like Marvel vs Capcom, but entirely with Dragon Ball flare. Goku, Gohan, Vegeta,Trunks, Buu, Cell, Frieza, Beerus and more are ready to battle together or against each other to the climax. I recommend this to fans of the series and casual to hardcore fighting game fans.

    Another subpar DBZ game

Game was hyped up so much, I believed it would be very different from any other DBZ game before it. I expected so much more from the company responsible for Blazblue and my favorite, Guilty Gear. This one is nothing like those games, its just a button masher dressed up as DBZ with beautifull animation. Fighting game fans should stick with the classics (Tekken, Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, etc). This game is for kids.

I've played sooooooo many DBZ games over the years, and none have captured the fan-service and feel of DBZ and all its weird/wackiness, while still being an actual fun game like this one. It has easy combo options for those who aren't very familiar with fighting games, but allows more hardcore fighting fans to use some tricks and extensions that you would expect from competitive fighters. Great pickup.
