Same great game, same terrible voice acting.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Final Fantasy X and X-2 have been ported up pretty well from the PS2 to the PS3 and then to the PS4. There are again various graphical improvements over the PS3 port, though there are still a number of background character models and textures that could have done with a refresh but were left untouched. Alas, there is still no option to switch to the original Japanese voice over track. You're stuck with the painfully awkward and terribly emotionless English voice track. Oh, well. Still a fun RPG.

Great remake for all the hardcore and new fans.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Al though it already came out for the PS3 not too long ago as a remake. It hasn't got old. Not to me at least. It's a great pastime for a slow day.

Don't miss the remastered version of these games
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you loved or missed Final Fantasy X or X2 in the past, you will love it even more now. Yes, this was already done on the PS3 (the redo to make it prettier). But really, this is waaaaay better than it even was on the PS3 ( and Vita) redos. The colors are brighter and more plentiful. There is no more blockiness from the original PS2 version. You will notice a huge difference. Also, if you own the PS3 or Vita versions, that data will transfer to the PS4 version. Yeah! All in all this is a collection of 2 incredible games with incredible music (you can select from the original score, or the new one) and incredible story telling. There is a reason Final Fantasy is the best, and this collection shows it!

Average remake of a great game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new sphere grid imported from the international version was a great opportunity to play through the game with a totally different approach allowing you to custom tailor every character to what you desired. It also gave players to ability to make disastrous mistakes though if they were new to the Final Fantasy world though I doubt many were introduced to the series on a remake title. As I mentioned earlier the only grip I have is that the remake missed opportunities to make the game feel even more fresh. Small things like adding some new weapons and enemies into the game or introducing a few new items that could give custom weapons some interesting new abilities. It isn't a huge deal I just felt like I played through the exact same title with very few differences aside from graphics. I didn't touch on X-2 because I bought the remake for FFX. X-2 is a good title but the story was not up to par with previous FF titles. Great and innovative combat system with the dress spheres laying the way for future titles but boring story that I struggled to make it through. I only finished the game because I had to know what the heck happened to Titus at the end of FFX. I wanted to make one last statement. I know remakes generally try and stick with the original formula as close as possible and it is generally accepted but why? I think it is an excellent opportunity to test new concepts. For instance it would take A LOT of mistakes to ruin a title like Final Fantasy VII. FFX/X-2 would have been a great time to implement some new ideas with minimal effort as the game is already a finished product. Leave the big things like story and combat algorithms during programming alone and add some small concepts that aren't game breaking if they fail.

Awesome Game Still
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is of course a Cash Grab from Squaresoft, as they just released the PS3 version just a year ago, but once again I find myself, purchasing it. It looks even sharper than the PS3 version, and the game itself is still fun to this day. For anyone who has not played it before and is interesting in going through these games, this is THE edition to get. It has all of the extra content from the international version that was missing from the original PS2 release, such as the expert sphere grid. It also includes dual audio. For anyone who has the PS3 version such as me, you can easily transfer your save over to this version. As a side note, every other region than the US who got this game got a super nice Steelbook, and the US just got a calendar. The bonus for the US is subpar compared to the rest of the world.

One of the best PS2 RPGs is back
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this game, I've completed it numerous times on the PS2, so I'm thrilled it's finally come to the PS4. If you're one of those people who's new to the Playstation console family and picked up a PS4, this game is pretty much one of the essential JRPGs on the PS2 era. The combat is perfection, the soundtrack is amazing and the story is well done. There are a few gripes, like the really bad lip syncing, and the inability to skip cutscenes, but they're very minor issues that won't detract from the overall gaming experience.

Play the International Versions of the games in HD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Final Fantasy X was the first Final Fantasy game for the PS2. With the jump in graphics and complete voice-over dialog for the main characters, it was a groundbreaking game. It was followed up by Final Fantasy X-2, the first true sequel to a Final Fantasy game. With a trio of female protagonists, and the return of the job class system, it was a great sequel. Now, two great games just got better. The HD is excellent (I still have my PS2, and both of the original games), and you also have the option of updated musical arrangements. The really great bonus - at least for those of us in the U.S. - is the ability to play the International Versions of the games. There are significant changes, harder challenges, and all the bells and whistles that make this a true remaster. Five stars!

Game of the 21st Century
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally played this game back when it dropped in 2001. It was on the PlayStation 2 and I remember it vividly. The step from FFIX to FFX was leaps and bounds in terms of graphics while still maintaining that excellent turn-based strategy style. Above all, the story is magnificent with one of the most tear-jerking endings I have ever witnessed. I bought this copy because it was remastered to play on the latest and greatest machine: the PlayStation 4! I knew that this game was going to be awesome because it was my 5th time playing through it, but the updated graphics truly bring back the great memories of my childhood! I am so glad I picked this up and I highly recommend this to anyone's collection. I would rate this 10/10. Fantastic!
