Great working fine - tuning Antenna
|Posted .Okay! So this is my Story! I live on a fixed income, and with the yearly increases in my rent, I could no longer afford to pay that always changing expensive cable bill, so I decided to try out antenna T V, and to my surprise, it is working out just fine!! It took me a little while to figure out how to download the antenna channels, and how to adjust this fine tuning antenna, so that I could get the most channels possible, and a clear picture!! I have two of these antennas, and I'm going to buy one more real soon!! I no longer have a cable TV bill, and I get about 160 Channels For Free!! The Antenna Cost $20 Priceless!! :-))

Cutting the Cable. One for each TV. Fabulous
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI now subscribe to internet and WIFI only. I bought the $20 vs. $15 version because it has more reach. Didn't want to mess with outside type device on roof and then all the cabling & wiring. I have 2 Roku Smart TV's, a Smart Samsung, but no Roku, and a smaller "dumb" TV. I bought 2 Roku devices for the Samsun and the Dumb TV. 3 have their own antenna, and the 4th TV has a splitter to the Antenna. You have to play with them to get them placed properly. Be aware of where your stations and their towers are. If they are East of your house, antenna on West side may not work as well. So.... My internet bill just went from $135 to $45. I spent a little money to get there, but will recoup in a month or two of billing. I still have my Netflix and PBS subscriptions. Don't need much else with Roku TV's. I dropped Amazon. I got HULU for live news, but found I didn't need it. Dropped that, too. SOOO...! I get 30-50 local stations, including local news and weather. I have Netflix and PBS on all my devices, and with Roku have all their features. This thing, for $20, is fabulous and works great. Just know you have to play with it to get your direction feed. It may come and go with weather or air traffic interference, then fiddle with it again. Two are inside, near TV and facing where I know the stations are. One is outside on a screened covered deck where it won't get wet. This is the one we did a splitter, so it feeds both Deck (dumb) TV and Family Room 4k Ultra HD Smart Roku TV. Cheap way to get local channels and then of course do your streaming. bought one for a friend and showed her what to do to save $$!!!
Q: QuestionDo you need cable?i currently have Comcast as my provider. Can I use this antenna without Comcast?
Asked by Anonymous.

Q: QuestionHow many do i needI am planning on dding away with cable tv and using netflix and or hulu. I have 4 television sets. Do I need an antenna for each television
Asked by theresa.
- A:Answer I believe the answer is yes. I have 3 tv's. 1 is a smart tv with built in wifi so it already had Netflix ready to go (meaning no extra things needed to be bought to get it to stream Netflix). The other one I have is just a basic TV set with a $15 HDTV antenna plugged into it because we don't use it much. The other is not a smart tv, but we use it a lot, so we bought a $60 Roku to then stream Netflix through it. So yes, I cut the cable. I bought two things at Best Buy and then pay for Netflix each month. Each of the 3 tv's are setup a little different. But it works well for us.

Q: QuestionI live in Round rock Texas. Will rabbit ears bring in abc nbc cbs cw fox and pbs. Just want table top not anything in attic or roof
Asked by Robin.
- A:Answer How well it would work would depend on how far away you are from the broadcasting towers and what sort of interference you might have in your home (material the home is constructed out of, valleys, trees, etc.). You can always try it out and exchange it within 15 days of purchase for something more powerful if it doesn't work for you (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/help-topics/return-exchange-policy/pcmcat260800050014.c?id=pcmcat260800050014).

Q: Questiondoes this work with an older tv - coaxial?
Asked by jeff.
- A:Answer Yes, this antenna does use coaxial. As long as the TV has that you will be fine. One thing to keep in mind though is if the TV is old enough, you will need a converter box.

Q: QuestionI live in a town house in the San Mateo, CA area. Do you think this product will be good for me? Thanks
Asked by C.S..
- A:Answer Use the website TVFool to check by address and intended height. Green = good signal, yellow moderate, red difficult. The antenna you need will be easier to choose based on that. It will tell if your area has UHF and/or VHF signals too (which this antenna handles). A word of caution in cities where antenna towers are close: being too close can make signals over driven and hard to get; always try one that *isn't* boosted first for this reason. If you can, buy local, since it can returned in favor of trying a diff. option. Being in the middle of tall building can also affect signals for better or worse too, but it's worth a shot to avoid cable bills. Overall though, this was an impressive antenna that picked up signals within 50 mi of where I installed it.

Q: QuestionI live in Reading PA 60 miles from Philadelphia tv stations. Will this antenna pick up these stations?
Asked by Kricket.
- A:Answer Mine didn't work AT ALL and I live 40 miles away from stations. But, it may be because it is being used on an old tube tv. I don't know what that would matter though.

Q: QuestionCan I connect a TV and an FM radio to this?
Asked by jpcb.
- A:Answer yes, I did both but I think you'll need 2 of these; not sure if it'll work with a splitter. I have the TV in one room, the Fm receiver in another.
