Looks and works great!
||Posted .I purchased this along with a filler kit (extends the width from 30” to 36” wide). The microwave looks great and do far works great. Look great too. I installed the Overhead microwave and kit in a couple of hours. I thought the install instructions could have been better, once installed, it looks great! Microwave instructions are minimal but the keypad is intuitive. Overall great microwave at a great price!

Great replacement unit at a great price!
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Nice replacement unit for the GE model I had for 10 years! The interior height is a little less than the last one, so my morning 1 liter of tea hits the top. The turntable is a little smaller as well. Works very well. The older unit looked a little more modern with its curves & recesses. This one is pretty much a square all teh way around.

Just what I wanted..

Has buttons for reheating, and exactly how many minutes rather than having to stop and punch them in. I enjoy this one much more than the other one I had that lasted only two years.

Microwave over counter replacement.

Q: QuestionWith the venting on top, does the installation require an actual vent to be installed inside the cabinet above or is it vented on top through the front of the microwave?

- A:Answer Hi Interested - Thank you for your interest in a new GE over-the-range microwaves. Our over-the-range microwaves are designed to be vented in 1 of 3 ways. They can be vented directly out the back, through the top (which would require a vent in the upper cabinet) or if you don't have the means to vent the unit outside, they can be vented internally (recirculating) using a charcoal filter. Q: Question1.How many stove light bulbs are under the microwave? Do the stove lights have a bright and dim option? What type of bulbs? 2.Can it vent to the front? We can't vent to the back or the up the cabinet, and don't want to keep up with filters. Thanks!

- A:Answer Hi - Thank you so much for your interest in this beautiful fingerprint resistant over-the-range microwave oven. This model offers a single 30 watt halogen bulb that sits between the two grease filters on the underside of the unit. It offers a bright and night light setting. This model offers three venting options. It can be vented to the outside through the top or back. It can also be converted to internal, recirculating venting. With this venting method, the blower is turned and a charcoal filter is installed. The air is then directed through the charcoal filter to remove odors and grease prior to be vented back into your kitchen. We recommend the charcoal filter be replaced every 6 months and this model does have a Filter Reset light to remind you to do so. We do hope you choose GE for your home. Vikki@GEA

- A:Answer Hey there, Thanks so much for considering this fabulous microwave! When mounting an over the range microwave on a brick wall, the installation instructions for the unit should be followed. The only additional hardware needed are lead anchors for brick, and the size needed must be determined by the installer taking into account size, type, and thickness of wall. - A:Answer Hello- We appreciate you checking with us and are happy to help! Over the range microwaves can not be install in a cabinet or on a countertop. According to Underwriters Laboratories (UL), which approves appliance installations, you cannot use an over-the-range microwave on the counter or in a shelf. Besides not being approved for this installation, these microwaves don't have feet and are also often slanted (not level) on the bottom. Additionally, if the surface lights or vent fan were to be turned on accidentally, it could cause damage to the shelf or microwave. We hope this helps! All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model.
