A: Hi - The GE Profile™ Series Slide-In Front Control Induction and Convection Range is designed to fit nearly flush at the rear wall with standard 25" deep countertops. It will not fit properly in a space where there is counter at the back of the range. As show in the Installation Instructions, rear wall to front of door glass is approximately 25 1/2" (Depth Without Handle 27 3/8 in): http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-11105-1.pdf - Keep in touch! A: Hi rudog - Starting in September 2017, we are offering electric, gas, and dual fuel front control slide-in ranges with no overhang, an edge-to-edge cooking surface, and color matched finished sides. No overhang simplifies installation, especially with countertop less than or more than 36" and can be installed with counters with beveled edges. Also provides a better fit and appearance with ADA countertops (usually 34"H). Accessory trim kits are available to purchase if needed (JXFILLR1BB/JXFILLR1SS). Thanks for your interest in PHS930SLSS. A: Not sure if your interest is on the glass surface temperature (for safety) or in keeping food hot. It depends. If temperature of what you just finished cooking was high, it will take longer to cool down. If the hot pan is left on the cooktop it can take several minutes to cool. This basically depends on the characteristics of the pan. A heavy one, will take longer, but this is the same as in the case of any other range. If the hot pan is removed after completing cooking, the glass surface may need about one minute to cool. Consider that if the hot pan is removed, what remains hot is the cooktop glass, only, no other metal parts as in a regular range. In any case, an indicator will let you know that the area is hot.
A: There's a button that says LOCK CONTROLS, press and hold that for 3 seconds and it locks the controls so you can clean, press and hold it again for 3 seconds to unlock it.
Q: How does the ventilation work on this model? Do I need any special ventilation considerations?
A: Ventilation for the oven is at the rear of the cook top; there are black vents placed horizontally where the glass of the cook top ends. For ventilation of the kitchen, I would only use a range hood vented to the outdoors. Microwave vents are worthless since they don't have enough pull. I had the oven cranking for Christmas (450 deg F) and the stove top didn't get hot, nor did the handles. Cooling fans for the actual burners is internal, and are very very quiet. I had the predecessor of this model, and this new incarnation is much quieter.
A: Hi Mark - Thanks for choosing GE! Amp Rating at 208V/240V= 40 (KW Rating at 208V= 10.4; KW Rating at 240V= 12.5). GE Appliances does not package the power cord with electric free-standing ranges since it is not possible to determine the type of facilities each consumer has available or what the local electrical codes require (ex. 3-wire vs 4-wire). We suggest to view the Installation Instructions at the following link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-11105-4.pdf - Also view the following link- INSTALLATION WIRE SIZE / GAUGE: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=22616 - We hope this is helpful. Q: What is the optional trim kit for(JXFILLR1BB)?
A: Hi rudog - Thanks for considering GE Profile Model # PHS930SLSS! This trim is only necessary if you want to cover the small gap on the sides or if you have a rough countertop cut you would like to cover. You can also view the Installation Guide at this link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-11118_Trim%20Kit%20Instructions.pdf - We’d love to have you in the family. A: Hi Parker - Thanks for your interest! While decibel ratings are not available, a humming sound while cooking or boiling is normal. Slight sounds, like hums or buzzes may be produced by different types of cookware. Heavier pans, such as enameled cast iron produce less noise than a lighter weight multi-ply stainless steel pan. The size of the pan and the amount of contents can also contribute to the sound level. When using adjacent elements that are set at certain power level settings, pan noise may interact and produce a low whistle or intermittent "hum". These noises can be reduced or eliminated by lowering or raising the power level settings of one or both of the elements. Pans that completely cover the element ring will produce less noise. I couldn’t see this stove in person so I took a chance on it. When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. Good quality stove.. The main screen could of been color, but I guess the “old style” type screen is easier to use and see (see pic). GE could of used thicker gauge stainless for the storage drawer. (It’s paper thin (24 gauge at best). The oven door sort of soft closes so it doesn’t slam like my last stove and the light turns when you open it. The top of the stove is black as well as are the touch screen controls (see pic). It is a bit difficult to keep it from smudging however. Stove is a slid in unit but the edges of the stove don’t extend over the counter and there are no pieces that they sell that can do this (see pic with the spoon between the gap). With that being said, if you spill something onto the glass, it can run down the side of stove and cause a real mess. Changing the microwave next, but I ended up getting the Whirlpool with convection. I really didn’t like the GE one with convection since it felt and looked very cheap. I guess I will just debadge the microwave so the Whirlpool name is staring me in the face. It would be nice if GE made a microwave the matches the stove in quality and looks. Anyway, the stove boils water extremely fast, simmers very well and in general works great. The geek quad is excellent—professional—clean and courteous.

Excellent product. We only have electric as an option but wanted the cooking control of gas so we elected to get an induction range. Works as advertised. The large burner can boil water in as little as a minute. Excellent heat control not quite as good as gas but close. Really nice to have all the burners and control “smooth”. Makes it very easy to clean plus the lockout button for the controls makes cleaning that area very easy. Also, has controls to use 2 burners together for a grill or griddle. Also gives you a good excuse to get new cookware :) as we had all aluminum cookware which won’t work on an induction cooktop. Very pleased. Highly recommended.
