A: AnswerHi Ashley- This dishwasher has Condensate Dry which is an energy-efficient drying system on some dishwashers. With this drying system design, condensation will form on cooler surfaces in a warm humid environment. At the end of a cycle, while the dish load is still hot, the stainless steel tub walls are already cooling down and pulling condensation to form on the tub walls instead of the dishes. This provides natural air drying of the dish load. No heating element is used. The use of a rinse agent ensures spot and film protection for dishes and assists the drying process. A: AnswerYou can do both. My old dishwasher plugged into a protected outlet. Power cord normally is an added purchase. I used my old plug from old dishwasher for new dishwasher. There wasn't anything wrong with that power cord. Very self-explanatory in directions on how to connect. But if you aren't comfortable with doing stuff like that it is best to have it done for you.Answered by Lee83

18" GE Profile dishwasher
Nice little dishwasher that deceivingly holds a lot of dishes and silverware ! very nice minimal design too with no handle. A real plus is the quietness of this appliance. You'll hardly know it's on. The one drawback is that it does not have a heating element to dry the dishes. You'll have to open the door for several hours in order to accomplish that or grab a dish towel to speed things up. If your kitchen is smaller like mine is , then leaving the door open poses a bit of an issue. Still glad I bought it though !

Great dishwasher for small kitchen
Love the GE Profile dishwasher. It has no knobs on the surface. There are push buttons on the top. It cleans perfectly, without rinsing the dishes first. Very quiet compared to my last GE dishwasher. Well worth the money. Delivery people were very knowledgeable about my appliance. My husband noticed a dent in the door at the bottom. Delivery men went ahead and installed it. They made arrangements to order a replacement and told me to use the damaged one till the replacement arrived. Expertly installed in minimal time. Very professional and personable.

Small, quiet AND mighty!
I have two of these in my short term rentals. They are so small that it’s perfect for a small space, but TBH, it cleans better than the full size dishwasher at my own house!! And it’s VERY quiet. I can’t even tell when it’s on! Dishes and glasses come out crystal clear. It’s pretty amazing, because I wasn’t expecting it to work so well because it’s so small.
