Good 1st action camera ! GoPro always been KING

I can’t say enough about this bundle! I recommend this bundle for anybody that is just starting off, Even if you’re going on vacation and you just want to get some great shots and memories of the vacation or just every day life. GoPro has always been the king of action Cameras. I must say for all the stuff that this comes with it well worth the money. Here lately with the 360 & DJI coming out with an action camera. A lot of people don’t know who to start with or what’s the difference as an owner of all 3. Besides battery life. * I would say they are all similar in quality. I am a GoPro man myself. I could never trust magnetic mounts because I’m just on the water too much. I’m talking about 50 feet of water too so no getting that back if it falls into the river!

    Honest GoPro Hero 12 Review

SHORT/QUICK REVIEW: The GoPro Hero 12 is a great camera that is worth the buy. Awesome footage. Manageable issues. Durable. Easy to use. The content creator bundle was worth it for me, with the Volta grip being my favorite accessory addition. You should know that you can use the GoPro cam without a subscription, but have to download the app to create a GoPro account setup/update the camera, and then you might be enticed to get the paid subscription for full experience like storage features, etc. Only gave it 4 stars for the minimal research I had to do to figure out the best settings, and the memory card NOT included. Keep reading for a more in-depth take.. There are a few actions cams available on the market but I believe after testing those out (yes including this one’s competitor that you’ve probably seen in online reviews) that this is the best-in-class for its segment. FOOTAGE QUALITY: The footage this camera can capture is truly amazing and high definition. The 5k resolution is worth it and looks amazing without having to do post-editing if you’re inexperienced. It’s better than the competition not by a crazy amount but enough to make it the best choice. Even when 5k footage scales down to 4k, which I feel like most of the devices people use at this point in time sit at this resolution, the footage looks crisp. BUT there is a small learning curve. Out of the box this comes with a preset video setting that’s good for most situations. However in some lighting situations your footage can look really really bad. Especially lowlight, but that’s not a deal breaker for me, even though I thought maybe it was a manufacturing defect at first. I solved this by watching a few videos and reading online on what are some of the best settings people use and testing out what I liked. I have 4 different custom presets now that are super easy to switch through and handle all my use-cases. Basically it’s an amazing day-time camera, and an ok evening camera. Make sure you get the right MicroSD card for this cam to save footage btw, that’s really important! EASE OF USE: This camera is very user friendly. the navigation menus are easy to figure out and honestly are not too in depth. I hate super complicated settings. Play around with the camera for 5-10 min and you should know all you need to. Click and hold one button and it’ll turn on/off. Click another button to start/stop recording. Swipe left, right, up, and down and you get to all the different menus. Open the latch to charge the inserted battery by USB-C. Simple enough right? DURABILITY: This camera feels light/small, but also feels strong. I tested it by submerging it under water in my bath tub (obviously closing the battery door AND using the correct water resistant hinge) and it was completely fine. I’ve also dropped it from my hands (about 6 feet) on accident a couple times and it’s still alive and functioning normally. I am typically careful with all my electronics and try to be mindful to gently use them but accidents happen and this held up. BATTERY LIFE: The battery life time is way better than the previous GoPro I had. I capture footage no lower than 4k 30fps or 5k, and get over 1hr 30min of filming time before the battery gets low. But I also turn it off in between shots and when I’m not using it. When using the Volta tri-pod grip from the creator bundle, I don’t even need to worry about the battery if I’m just out capturing footage for the day before charging later that night. OVER HEATING: If you aren’t aware, most action cameras have this issue where they might over heat and temporarily stop working. They give you a message saying “camera over heated” or something and then you have to wait till it cools down. This has happened to me many times on my old GoPro but surprisingly I haven’t had this issue on the GoPro Hero 12 yet. Using the Volta grip I recorded for 1 hour and 40 min straight while indoors and didn’t have an issue. Also as long as the camera has airflow and is moving (like attached to a bike while you’re riding) you shouldn’t have issues. Overall, I am truthfully glad I upgraded and got this action camera. It is really good for recording action shots, or recording memories when simply just hanging out with friends. The accessories in the creator bundle like the Volta and Media Mod are really useful for extending battery life and Audio quality.

    Okaiesh

Well, to be frank, I am not impressed with the product and features that it provides. The night time camera/video quality sucks big time. Day time video quality is okay okay. The camera heats up if used continuously for aprx 30 minutes or more. The software/UI interface could have been better; given the fact the GoPro is in market for long time now. For someone like me who uses camera for recording mostly hiking/trekking videos, this is not useful and I would rather use iPhone camera. This might differ for someone who does sport activities or daily vlogging. P.S - This my personal experience and opinion after using it first hand for couple of weeks.
