I remember watching this when I was a kid and when my 19 year old son was young. Now I am watching it with my great niece and great nephew. Classic cartoons never go out of style. Great story and entertaining!

I love the Rankin Bass holiday specials and this one is a family favorite. The songs, story and signature Rankin Bass animation make this a treasured Easter classic. Highly recommended.

If you try to show a kid today this video, they will most likely not watch it. The camera barely moves, the cuts are long and leisurely, the animation is jerky and choppy. The characters speak as we did fifty years ago and not everything they say or do will be perceived nicely by modern sensibilities. And - honestly - who cares? This is a classic work and while it hasn’t aged as well as for those of us who saw it during original broadcasts, it’s still a classic. I have spent my entire life trying to become an Easter egg master and peel my eggs they way they do in the film. I’m still trying. There’s none of the dark religious content often found in the ranks bass Christmas films (Nestor, drummer boy). This is a more light hearted romp through the fantasy of Easter: spring, chocolate, finding colored eggs, etc. If you have young kids, Make sure to balance their Viewing diet with things like this. Gentle, classic and quaint material. I guess you either love it or you don’t, and I do. It’s like in the story of the velveteen rabbit. On the outside, one might be ugly, worn and tattered. But if someone loves you enough you become real and your true inner beauty shines through. Great metaphor Illustrating how I feel. I grew up watching the rankin bass films, and they define the holidays for me...they make them real. And nothing else matters. I hope you can enjoy them as I do!
