    Can’t recommend this TV enough!

Watched Avatar on Disney+ and the U6N really brings out the highlights and detail that this movie demands. Brightness and contrast pop. Watching fights, YouTube and live tv via antenna, the Hisense u6n makes the content look better and upscales it like a campion handles fast moving images well and love the remote. Can’t recommend me this tv enough,

    Higher-end viewing at entry-level pricing...

The Hisense 75 inch U6 Smart Google TV is a great value proposition for anyone looking to up their screen size game at a reasonable cost, while not making huge sacrifices on presentation, picture or performance across a pretty decent variety of situations. This screen definitely falls in the ‘bang for your buck’ category, while it doesn’t blow you away in any particular manner or segment of design, it provides a pretty vibrant and consistent viewing experience as an expectation with what you are spending. I was moving on from an five-year-old 60 inch flatscreen in my basement, wall mounted at a distance of about 10 feet from couch to screen, and the jump in size within that spatial environment was a perfect upgrade. The screen is big, but if you aren’t in a room where you are sitting basically on top of it, the presentation is really nice. Out of the box, I didn’t find that any of the build compromises made to achieve the quality at the price point to be disappointing. It is a pretty solid unit, the black plastic enclosure being fairly sturdy, with an almost bezel-less design around most of the perimeter except the bottom, which houses the various sensor arrays and a microphone on/off switch. The TV doesn’t have a particularly deep chassis, which is a pleasant surprise for a screen so large. I wall mounted the TV as opposed to using the legs and setting it on a console, reusing an existing full motion kit that was already installed, the unit sat great and fit the wall beautifully. It sits off the wall about 6 inches from the front edge of the screen. I know, I should change it to a low-profile tilt-mount to reduce the depth a bit, but between kids jockeying one gaming system or another in and out, it is easier to be able to swing out the screen and do the cabling. Installation was relatively simple as the TV has a standard VESA bolt pattern on the back to affix any compatible mount kit. At about 60 pounds, most any kit in the 50 to 80 inch range can support the unit with ease, and I was able to get this one up myself (not recommended – it is a little unwieldly if you don’t have a large wingspan). Connectivity – the versatility of the TV provided by the Android IOS was a large part of what allows the unit to shine for us. We as a family have cut the cable cord, so we are all-streaming, all the time. Living off of various apps like Fubo, Netflix and Amazon Prime among other streaming apps, having a pretty robust app store is a huge plus. The interface is attractive and really easy to navigate, and the Google Store ecosystem is packed with a variety of apps and games to fill whatever need we have. My wife is a runner, and has a nice treadmill with a small screen and an app called iFit that provides live or on-demand workouts, which is in the Google store. Now she can run watching on a 75 inch screen instead of the 7 inch one on the treadmill. While the TV does have WiFi capabilities which work well (we tested wireless with zero noticeable lag), I utilized the CAT ethernet connection on the back to integrate the TV into my home network. Having the hard connection is great, and you can navigate in and around the IOS and store with speed and ease. Setting the TV up using my Google credentials gave direct access to my personal Youtube channel, and the Chrome casting and Apple Airplay capabilities are awesome. My daughter does all of her school work (and spends her downtime browsing) using her Chromebook, now she casts her homework or presentation work to the big screen when it benefits her, or play some games with friends in the basement on the browser while running some music on Spotify in the background. I tend to watch the TV myself primarily in the evening, be it sports or some of the Marvel Universe. The new screen technology is a game-changer of an upgrade over what we had before. The min-LED technology increases the LED backlighting from dozens to thousands, which provides more precise control over brightness, with bright whites and deep true blacks. The absolute crispness of the picture is outstanding, with a whole new level of color gamut than I was used to. Hisense notes that the Quantum Dot technology brings over a billion colors into play, we ran a family movie and restreamed the 4K version of The Lost City with Dolby Vision and it was like my private IMAX theater. There are numerous settings to manipulate the contrast, clarity and color, along with the normal array of screen presets, I find leaving it on Standard to be pretty rewarding for most media types- but there are options for those that like cooler/crisper color profiles. Again, for the price, I wasn’t expecting a super high level of calibration control but there is a pretty decent amount of calibration available here. I personally find that keeping ambient room lighting low by the screen greatly helps in getting the most mileage out of the color vibrancy and the depth of dark blacks. The HDR IQ functionality works amazing, as the room the TV in can vacillate between medium light and dark depending on time of day. As to the sound, you get what you should expect in budget-level TV speakers, maybe even a tad higher quality than you think. Thankfully, my older TV was equipped with a 5.1.2 channel Dolby Atmos soundbar and speaker setup, and that rig works amazingly through the eARC HDMI port on the back. This price range of television gets you a good picture, and leaves you with some money in your pocket to get a decent soundbar upgrade to pull it all together. Lastly, if you’re a gamer and are in the market for a large format screen, you aren’t shopping in this price tier or using these specs to find your screen -but my son plugged in his Xbox One and Nintendo switch. To get the maximal experience, make sure you put it in Enhanced HDMI Format, to ensure the TV is at its full resolution. There is also a Game Settings section where you can manually adjust contrast and black level to your custom liking, or select other settings like High Refresh Rate Mode and Instant Game Response, which automatically detects settings on the attached device. There is a PC Sync mode, to adjust to a dynamic refresh rate should you connect to a PC, and it utilizes AMD FreeSync as the adaptive sync technology. The gaming overall is outstanding, we plugged in Red Dead Redemption 2, as well as Assassins Creed Origins and the HDR (High Dynamic Range) experience is definitely noticeable – really expressive details in the contrast ranges between the brights and darks, as well as super-immersive and vivid color experiences. It was like watching a movie during some of the game scenes. There was no noticeable artifacting or tearing at all…..gameplay was crisp and responsive. All in, there is definitely a heigh ceiling of value here for the screen size, higher-end technology and pretty abundant features that you receive at this price point. You are getting yourself a heck of a deal on a pretty versatile 4K capable screen with awesome brightness, color depth and movement that translates into a lux movie viewing and gaming experience. Definitely recommended if you are looking for entry into the min-LED experience.

Love watching 4K content on this TV!

After reading reviews about the clarity and performance of the Mini LED TVs, I've been wanting to get one to replace an outdated (8 yr old) TV. This Hisense TV is a great bargain without needing to spend $2-3K. You do need two people to unbox and get the TV setup. Since we were going to sit it on the table, we attached the legs (it is also setup to mount on the wall). You have the option of putting the legs closer together (in case your table isn't wide enough for the legs being put closer to the edge of the TV). I thought that was a nice option for people upgrading from smaller TVs that may have tables sized for the smaller TV. Setting up the TV took longer than I expected. From the time we powered it on to the time it was usable was about 30-35 minutes. The reason for this was the multiple downloads and installs you need to do get the TV up to date. This isn't a big deal since it is a one time process and you don't have to actively do anything while it is downloading and installing the updates. On to the important stuff...the picture quality. WOW! Watching 4K content on this TV is incredible. I have the 4K add-on for YoutubeTV and watched a few nature episodes filmed in 4K. Incredible clarity! We are sitting about 7 feet from the TV which allows you to see image in outstanding detail. A+ for the picture at the price point of this TV. The big challenge with 4K is the availability of content. I'm expecting UHD content to be more and more prevalent over the next few years. At this point, many of your big sporting events are filmed or upscaled to 4K and there is 4K content from various providers (YoutubeTV and Netflix for example); however, the majority of what you watch will still be in HD (1080 or 720). This TV does a great job with that content as well. For those that are sports enthusiasts, this TV has all 60Hz inputs. For fast motion, 120Hz is better but you also have to bump up in price to get it. For the value, this set does a nice job with fast motion sports (ball being thrown, people running, etc.). You do see some shadowing on it while the TV tries to keep up with the motion, but I didn't feel that it detracted from the viewing experience. Overall, this is a great TV for the price point and I would recommend it.
