Horton Hears a Who
When a kindly elephant hears a faint cry of help from a floating speck of dust, his attempts to protect the tiny particle cause his neighbors to question his sanity in this animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss' classic 1954 children's book of the same name. Produced by Ice Age makers Blue Sky, scripted by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, and directed by Jimmy Hayward and Steve Martino, Horton Hears a Who reunites Bruce Almighty co-stars Jim Carrey and Steve Carell as the eponymous elephant and the mayor of Whoville respectively. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I watch Horton Hears a Who with my two granddaughters, ages 2 & 4. I always have a running commentary about subtle things they may not note on their own, helping them to learn the social and emotional dynamics of the story: how one "sour kangaroo" can turn the whole community against Horton because she lacks the perceptual skills to hear what Horton hears more than once; Horton's empathy which allows him to imagine the possible trouble behind the yells he hears and motivates him to extreme efforts to help; the lengths both Horton and the Whos go to in their efforts to help each other; the wisdom of the young to recognize truth when they hear it (baby kangaroo) and speak truth to power, even when mom is the one with the power. The graphics are great and classic Seuss. Can't recommend it highly enough!

To be honest, I didn't expect very much from this movie. Primarily because I expected it to be more of the same, Jim Carrey over-acting things to make them funnier than they are on their own, even if that would have been funny enough. Turns out that his performance is far more subtle and on point in this movie, and as a result, its far more endearing and charming than I'd have imagined it could have been. At the end of the day, our three year old son truly enjoys the movie and that is why we originally bought it, so it was definitely a worthwhile purchase for us.

Without a doubt, this is an amazing movie graphically to watch on Blu-Ray. I just recently bought a PS3 partly for the games, partly for the Blu-Ray, & partly for the music storage. Although I feel that the price is high for the Blu-Ray format, a movie like "Horton Hears a Who" is well worth spending the additional money. Is this the case for all Blu-Ray movies? Possibly not, but, watch/buy this movie for your kids and it will be something that you will enjoy viewing too. BUY IT ON BLU-RAY!

I really enjoy this movie!!!!!!! Dr. Seuss really helped my family and I to see that all people are relevant. Horton heard The Peoples shout out for help and for survival. The Life lesson ftom this movie is indeed Powerful, Inspiring and Motivating!!!!!!! In conclusion, it is NOT our size but the endearing qualities of our figurative heart that counts in the real life. When the eyes of our hearts are focused on others We Will Hear Everyone's Voice.

This movie was made especially for viewers ages 10 and under. For the older guys, this movie is pretty stupid, because of the lack of action, the lovey dovey "happiness", etc. Families with younger children will enjoy this much more. Some great things about this movie are that the audio and picture are both outstanding, and there are some pretty hilarious scenes. I only recommend this to the younger audience.

Ok so while our kids love this movie and looks great on our 65 inch Sony TV, I am a little down that the digital media is not compatible with iTunes but rather flixster.... we own a Apple TV and my kids love to watch their movies on the road using our iTunes movie collection and sad to see that this particular movie isn't compatible.

I have not watched the movie myself. I play it in the DVD player in the car for my toddler son. He enjoys it and askes to watch it again and again. It does play quieter than other videos on our DVD player...to the point where we have the volume all the way up and I cannot hear it in the front seat.

This is one of my all time favorite movies. I would reccomend it to everyone. It shows the tenacity of Horton for a town he is sure exists no matter what the people around him, even his friends, think and say. A wonderful movie for all. A good movie to help everyone learn to deal with peer pressure.
