I was a little skeptical
||Posted .Some people were complaining about this tv and I'm sorry...but this TV IS AWESOME! I love the quality and the 4k videos from youtube look AMAZING! I love this tv! I know it's not samsung but for the price it does the same thing and it looks unbeliavable, even the 1080p blurays looks better on this. The sound is very good too and You can even use your headphones! I love it! 10/10

Not a good monitor.
||Posted .I purchased this unit as a 2nd 4k monitor to go with my Vizio (E43U-D2) and I'm less than impressed. This model had been speculated to be a great buy as a monitor given it's specs but the unit I received failed to deliver. The Good.... Low input lag Great Menu/UI Roku Quantity of 4k inputs Stand/Base is constructed as a single piece and not just legs (only reason I note is if using multiple 40"+ displays as monitors, fitting them entirely on a single desk can be tricky). Solid remote construction The Bad... Default hdmi mode to 1.4 (30hz) and not 2.0 (60hz) - Ok for those who know to dig into settings to adjust but not for those who expect plug and play. Noticeable grain in comparison to the Vizio 4k it's next to. Hdmi port 1,4:4:4, would not support 4k @ 60 hz. Ports 2-4 did however. Now I could have received a defective unit but since I do value first impressions and don't care for the time wasted returning products, I won't be exchanging it for a replacement to test and instead will be going with another Vizio E43U-D2. My setup is used for software development, database design, and normal document viewing/creation.

An ok 4k monitor
Posted .If you are looking for a 4k 60Hz 4:4:4 monitor this is a very close win. Take this with a grain of salt however it is not truly 4:4:4 at 4k 60Hz. There is some strange software working in the background. Running this on my macbook 2015, displayport 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 via the club3d adaptor these are my results. At 4k 60Hz http://imgur.com/ojxaO4n At 1080p http://imgur.com/Zd9y33b At 4k 30Hz the image is the same as the 30Hz. You can see that you get a small sample of 4:4:4 but not the full 4:4:4. So overall for the price you can't go very wrong as of April 2016. Especially when you can buy these at the local BestBuy and test them out yourself. The other downfall is the pixel density could be a lot better if this was a 40in instead. A 43in is a bit too large and pixels can be seen. Though I use this for software development at 4K 60Hz and reading text is not straining due to the size. So I can give this 4 stars. 4k at 60Hz with ALMOST true 4:4:4 (from what I can test) has never been cheaper. ps: If you pick this up and test it with a modern nvidia or amd card I would love to see the chroma results.

A lot of TV for the price
||Posted .On the positive side, I got a ton of features in a low-priced television. It's 4K, it's "smart" and it's really bigger than I need (but just what I want). It was pretty easy to set up. Those are the things I wanted, and those are what I got, so that's all very satisfying. The antenna tuner is actually a big improvement over my last one, which was a pleasant surprise. If it dies on me prematurely, however, all scores are cancelled (voice of experience). So far so good. The main drawbacks are associated with the "smart" applications. The first thing I notice is that Roku, the "smart" element, is semi-spammy, with advertisements appearing on my interface screen, which is highly uncool for something I already paid for. Furthermore, it doesn't appear that you can edit your antenna TV channels, which is pretty ridiculous. The onboard Roku Media Player is also really limited in terms of formats that it will play, which is a deep cut into its convenience. In fact, customization is really lacking in areas where it should be de rigeur by now. I would like to custom label my inputs - can't. I'd like to customize the 4 big buttons (Netflix, HBOnow, GooglePlay and Sling) at the bottom to shortcut functions I actually use, rather than functions who've paid consideration to Roku. I realize that I'm not exactly the ideal customer, given my loathing for being hustled and conned, but it's fairly disturbing how "smart" has come to mean "built-in shopping mall." Evidently you're supposed to be able to "cast" you PC screen to the TV, but the information provided on that is inadequate. While I'm very happy with what's THERE, these are some irksome omissions that regularly draw attention to themselves. Pretty much all of my negatives are related to how Roku makes things work, rather than the TV itself. If you're used to the hustle and con of smart phones, most of this will be barely noticeable to you. But if you're a little bit old school and believe that things should just work right, Roku might leave you frustrated.

Exceptional for the price
||Posted .I have no doubt there are better UHDTVs out there. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better one for the money, though. 43" is perfect for my needs - I also have a projector, and any larger would get in the way of my screen area. This one is primarily for gaming and streaming services. Due to my internet speed and local devices I haven't been able to see what this can do when it has a true 4K source, but it upscales the 1080 content I can send it beautifully. There were 2 issues I read of people having prior to my purchase (other than a couple who seemed to have gotten "lemons"). 1) The remote - this is my third Roku device, so maybe I'm just used to their small size. I had no issues with the supplied remote, but only used it briefly until passing duties off on a Logitech Harmony anyway. 2) Washed out picture if not in "the sweet spot" - I tend to sit about 45° off center while viewing / gaming and the picture is fine. Yes, I can see gradients in dark areas when I'm that far off center, but it's not distracting to me. If I DO sit close to center (on the couch instead of my recliner), the color saturation, contrast, and overall picture fidelity is hugely better - near perfect from what I can tell. The only thing I'd really like is a bit more control over color tuning, but overall it's a great set for the price. Having Roku built in is a great feature for me - both bedroom TVs have Roku 3's connected, and this interface is essentially identical. Adding a device to the existing account couldn't have been easier.

Really good buy
||Posted .I was skeptical to say the least in buying such a low cost, 4K tv. After I got it home and mounted, I'm really happy with it. It's a bedroom tv for me, so I wasn't expecting the worlds greatest of everything and it has been a pleasant surprise how nice this really is. Pros: I love the Roku menu and control (makes me wish I could have it on my Samsungs) Good picture quality Sound is fine Looks nice Easy wireless connections Cons: Blacks aren't great, it's kind of expected in this price range though. Annoying power light stays on all the time of power is connected, I hate it in my bed room, I put a piece of tape over it. 60hz refresh rate isn't good by today's standards, but it's perfectly fine for viewing tv, movies, football etc. Screen is a bit bright even with settings toned down Overall: I would recommend and wouldn't mind buying a bigger version for primary use, but I would like to see a bit better color depth and a faster processor if I were going up in size. Great buy for the cost, don't hesitate.

Fine entry level 4K TV plus good Roku
||Posted .This TV is a solid upgrade from my old 720P Samsung and second gen Roku. The image is decent but doesn't allow for much adjustment, which is a major disappointment. The Roku functionality works well. Much quicker than my previous one and connects to wifi consistently. Uprez on the TV is mostly unimpressive and sometimes just plain bad, but that could be more about the originating content quality, stream etc. It's very user friendly as a plug-n-play 4K set and will satisfy undemanding users but will likely fall short of expectations for users accustomed to having more manual controls to customize to their preferences. Sharpness, resolution good. Contrast, deep blacks not so much. If the system were updated to allow for detailed picture adjustments, I would be jumping for joy. Probably perfect for gaming but falls short for cinema. Satisfied overall for the price.

Great TV for the price.
||Posted .I was looking for a living room tv for occasional use. My Samsung 4K is my primary in the bedroom. I wanted to keep cost low so initially looked at a handful of 1080 tvs. Once my local store got these in I decided to take the chance. Being an employee I know a lot about several tvs we have and I have to say this one is a great buy for the money. The roku works very well and makes the features seem very peppy in loading. My only con for this tv is that the blacks could be better but for the price it's a decent trade off. Even standard 1080 content looks very good.

Q: Questiondoes this stream 4k videos from netflix, when the video is offered in 4k? I read that not all tv's are able to stream 4k through netflix, and this would be one of the criteria that could make or break purchase. Thanks!
Asked by Jacob.
- A:Answer Yes, it streams Netflix 4K movies with crystal clarity.

Q: QuestionMy dog ate my remote for this TV. How can I go about getting a replacement?
Asked by Andrewj41.
- A:Answer Go to the local pound. I'm sure you could trade them in for one already trained, and I'm sure your dog will find a nice new home. On a farm somewhere. Nudge-nudge, wink-wink.

Q: QuestionDoes anyone know what the width of the stand at the bottom of this TV is? I just want to make sure it will fit on my TV table.
Asked by Metsci.
- A:Answer After searching around and even calling a Best Buy and Insignia to find the dimensions of the base (neither knew it... and were told to figure it would be about "2/3rds the length of the tv" ) we bought the TV hoping it would fit our stand and it barely does. The base/stand is about 24.5 inches in length x 9 inches wide.

Q: Questionif i buy a smart tv doz it work like a blue ray to pick up all the things
Asked by jj.
- A:Answer I have one of these & how it works is you program Cable TV (for example) to HDMI 1, Blu-ray Player or PSP to HDMI 2 and Apple TV or any other HDMI Device to HDMI 3. You can change what device you use for which HDMI input at any time easily with the included Roku remote. I hope this provides the "Yes" answer to your question.

Q: QuestionI know the remote it comes with does not have a headphone jack, but is there a way to pair a Roku 3 remote with the TV so that you can listen with headphones?
Asked by ultra353.
- A:Answer I cannot speak of the Roku 3 remote, but I have successfully, and somewhat unintentionally (the TV automatically detects additional remotes) remotes for the Roku 2, as well as the old and new Roku stick remotes. My guess is that the Roku 3 will pair as well.
