Great!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great dash cams. Bought one for my 2019 Subaru forester and one for my 2021 Subaru Ascent. Easy to install and run cables yourself. Took maybe 30 minutes to install cleanly running the rear wire up over the passenger doors behind the trim to the back window. Highly recommend. Clear picture, and I like how you can see the front and back cams both on the display. My picture isn’t the best, as my phone kept glaring onto the dash cam display haha.

Excellent value for a front/rear dashcam
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have previously tried a few inexpensive dash cams without being able to find one that wasn't overly compromised in some important way. I'm happy to say the Insignia 4K Front and Rear system is much better than I would expect for what you are getting in the box at this price point. You do miss out on some convenient features that you can find in higher end cameras - but you might be able to accept these limitations with the knowledge that you are getting 4K front and 720p rear cameras in one box for a low price. Installation was pretty simple in my vehicle (a BMW 5 series) - the included cable for the rear camera was just long enough to get from the passenger side of my rear view mirror to the rear camera stuck to my center brake light in the rear window, hidden under the trim of the A and C pillars and the trim along the passenger side floorboard. I ended up with about 8 inches of cable to spare. The included cable is a Mini-USB tip on both ends so you can possibly find an extension if it isn't long enough. Quality wise, the video is technically 4K, but the compression rate is high enough that you aren't getting that kind of quality when the vehicle is in motion. Quality is good enough, although I had hoped that it would be good enough to make out license plate numbers - not quite, at least when you're in motion. You can easily make out vehicle models and colors, though. The biggest frustrations with using it are things you'll have with a lot of low end dash cameras - there isn't a voice assistant to automatically tag clips while you're driving (when weird stuff happens that you want to watch later, but didn't necessarily trigger a G shock clip), and there's no app based/wifi functionality for copying the clips off the camera. All you can do is take the micro SD card out and plug it into a card reader. Fortunately, my main laptop has a micro SD slot so this is no big deal for me. Also, not necessarily a frustration, but there's no GPS built in which isn't weird for an inexpensive front/rear system. I think the Insignia 4K system is a great way to add front and rear camera coverage to your vehicle for emergencies, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends and family who want to protect themselves in the event of a crash.

4k dashcam video at HD prices (plus rear cam)
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Insignia Front and Rear dashcam system is an improvement on the previous HD version as the front camera will do 4K 30fps video. In addition, there is an actual second camera which mounts on your rear window, this one can do 1080p video. The thing I like about this version is the rear camera is not just on a swivel face rearward (which in my opinion didn’t really capture to well what was driving behind you due to contrast differences. This version attaches via wire to the rear unit and has all the normal features you would expect in a higher-level brand. The only thing missing is a touchscreen, but in order to maximize the non-touch screen on the front camera unit, the control buttons all reside on the bottom of the camera. This duo of cameras comes in at a lower price point in comparison to other higher end dashcams, but still gets the job done. The front facing camera does not have some of the features that more expensive brands do, so no GPS (thus no speed display), no wireless connectivity (files have to be copied off the micro-SD card – which is not included). But then again, the unit does have shock sensor, so if you get in a collision the video files will be marked protected and not looped over with new files. The video recorded is crystal clear from both the front and rear cameras and really provides a good field of view. One of my other dashcams proved useful an accident I was involved in, clearly showing a vehicle making a left turn right in front me in an intersection. The video proved very useful for the responding officer so he could write up his report of the accident. I also sent the video to the insurance companies involved and they quickly cited the cause of the accident (which was the other driver). So this dashcams really becomes an indispensable tool to keep all accident parties honest. (Plus you never know when you'll capture a falling meteor). Pros: - Clear 4k 30fps or 1080p 60fps video from the front camera - Full 1080p video from the rear camera - Well built - Reasonable price Cons: - None, as long as you are not looking for touch screen or advanced connectivity features. - No GPS

So far so good!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everyone should have a dashcam. I had not had one for a while tho. So I’m glad I did and glad that got this insignia 4K front and rear dash cam set up. Insignia is a Bestbuy brand ( just in case you don’t know ). I have had an anker in the past while it was good it was only 1080p. I wanted a higher resolution dashcam this time around since I had an incident in the past and couldn’t see the plate clearly. And with this unit I know I will see everything clearly and not have to worry if that were to happen again. Its more of a peace of mind thing. And you should take into consideration that factor as well. Better safe than sorry. As far as this dashcam goes. It works very well nice screen. With easy to navigate buttons to adjust any setting in the menu. Very easy to use. easy enough to set up(if you know how to run/hide wires of course). Which I have done several times over the years. Picture quality is great in both day and night. These sensors allow a lot of light during the night drives. I drive about 80 miles a day in my vehicle for my small business and I didn’t have any issues myself. I am using a 128gb micro SD card. I wish insignia would have included at least 32gb card but it’s fine. I do recommend however that you format your micro Sd card inside an actual camera. As this might be the issue some other users might have had with card error msg. This is common among most dashcams. Also I will say I don’t think you need a 128gb card as this unit will re write every one min or so. You can change the clip time I believe in the menu settings. This dashcam does have a g sensor built in. But you will need either an always on battery source or in my case, a car that allows power(usb port) when the vehicle is off. I’m lucky because the unit will turn on when it feels vibration. And auto turn off after a short while of no activity. So it won’t drain my battery. I love that feature. That’s good for when someone bumps into your car when you are not there. It will catch those people and their license plate. Well worth the retail price in my humble opinion. You are covered front and back. You never know with how badly people drive nowadays. And not everyone is truthful unfortunately! Also this unit has an auto emergency detection feature. Tho it has gone off and saved the file twice lol. So while it was a false reading and kinda funny. It’s not a huge issue. All in all I’m very happy I got a dash cam again. I can relax a little bit more. I know I’m covered if anything were to happen. Try it out and see for yourself.

Great Technology
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Insignia™ - 4K Front and Rear Dashboard Camera System is a top-quality product that provides excellent video recording capabilities for your vehicle. With its 4K resolution, it captures clear and detailed footage of both the front and rear views of your car. One of the standout features of this camera system is its wide-angle lens, which ensures that you capture a broad view of the road ahead and behind you. This is particularly useful for capturing any incidents or accidents that may occur. The footage is crisp and sharp, making it easy to identify license plates or other details. The camera system also has built-in GPS capabilities, which can track your vehicle's speed and location. This information can be valuable in case of an accident or for insurance purposes. Additionally, the system has a parking mode feature that can detect any impact or movement while your vehicle is parked, providing additional security. The installation process is relatively simple, and the camera system comes with all the necessary accessories, including mounts and cables. The user interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, allowing you to adjust settings and view recordings effortlessly. One potential downside of this camera system is its size. The front and rear cameras are quite large, which may obstruct your view slightly. However, the benefits of having a high-quality recording system far outweigh this minor inconvenience. Overall, the Insignia™ - 4K Front and Rear Dashboard Camera System is a reliable and efficient choice for anyone looking to enhance their vehicle's safety and security. With its exceptional video quality, wide-angle lens, and GPS capabilities, it provides peace of mind while driving and parking.

Can't handle the summer heat.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had 3 dash cams, and this one has had the best mounting suction cup but did not make it through the heat this past summer and melted so bad the buttons don't work due to the pressure of the expansion of the product. I would have taken it out of the truck but it was purchased for the parked/motion detection. The picture/video quality was better than the others I have had in the past, I will give it that. I think the screen overcomplicates it and adds to many components that helped contribute to the swelling or melting. It does not look safe any longer and has a film or oil on it from the damage it took due to the heat.

An excellent dashcam for the price
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With a sharp 4k front camera, this dash cam is an excellent and affordable way to record any potential emergencies while driving. While the lack of an internal battery means you won't be able to record anything that happens while parked, the video taken during your drive is quite clear and the camera will power on automatically with your car. Cable management is something of an issue, and you'll need a separate microSD card.

Q: QuestionIs there a way to view files (connect cam itself to PC or phone) OR do you have to remove the SD card and put into a card reader?
Asked by DRH.
- A:Answer I believe you can do both, use the USB cable to connect to your PC or take out the SD card and insert it onto the SD card slot on your computer.

Q: QuestionDoes this cam use the same sub-standard suction cup that the 2 in 1 insignia camera uses, the one that melts rubber on to the windshield?
Asked by eagle14410.
- A:Answer Hi there, No, This is not the same with the model mentioned above. Gem Insignia Products

Q: QuestionWill the rear camera install on a truck rear window that is vertical instead of angled like a car?
Asked by Ryan.
- A:Answer Yes. It will mount on a vertical rear window quite nice. I have it installed on my 2005 GMC Sierra. I get a full view of the bed and it gives a good perspective over the tailgate. What it lacks in wide angle, it makes up in picture clarity. I will warn that water droplets that adhere to the rear window will be an issue until dried up. Window tint doesn’t seem to be a problem either.

Q: QuestionWhat SD card is compatible with this dashcam? I have bought two different SD cards and both caused "Card Error Replace SD Card". I purchased a "ScanDisk Extreme plus 128G", returned it, and bought a "ScanDisk Ultra Plus, 256GB". Both did not work.
Asked by Nickname.
- A:Answer I have an ultra plus 128gb and it reads just fine after formatting. The unit may be faulty if it won’t read multiple cards.

Q: QuestionCan the front camera be mounted upside down? I'm wondering if it will auto rotate or if there is an even a setting for that. I don't want to put this directly on my windshield but it will be suction cupped to the car's middle entertainment screen. TIA
Asked by NiceMann.
- A:Answer If you mount the front camera upside-down, the displayed image appears correct on the camera, but the recorded image is inverted. Couldn't find a way to invert the recorded image in standard Windows Media player, although there may be better players available that are able to invert the image.
