“Can the front camera be mounted upside down? I'm wondering if it will auto rotate or if there is an even a setting for that. I don't want to put this directly on my windshield but it will be suction cupped to the car's middle entertainment screen. TIA”

If you mount the front camera upside-down, the displayed image appears correct on the camera, but the recorded image is inverted. Couldn't find a way to invert the recorded image in standard Windows Media player, although there may be better players available that are able to invert the image.
