Nice And Bright, but over priced for what they are
Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.
These are nice good quality LED strips, they come in 3 different lengths I have all 3 lengths. They are super bright and the colors look great! Our 16ft have the remote and require its own plug in! These 4 foot and 8 foot versions run off usb power so you can plug them right into an old phone charger, or any usb port you have on your computer, back of tv etc... but they only have a little in line controller built right into the plug where you can change between 7 brightness's and maybe 10 different colors at most! I do like these lights and they are good quality, I have MANY different cheap brands off amazon to compare these too, and these Insignia are always the ones i use to compare brightness etc... but they are extremely over priced for what they are tbh! Thats why i am leaving 3 stars instead of 5. There are many cheaper versions on amazon that are not only just as bright, but longer, and also can be controlled over wifi with alexa, google assistant etc... So these are good lights if you just want something to stick behind your monitor, desk, small tv, tv stand, under cupboards in your kitchen etc.. but just know you wont be controlling them with any smart home devices! I feel like your better off looking on amazon for a much cheaper set that have alot more features! There are great alternatives if you take the time to look and read reviews on there instead of over spending on these lights! Also these lights go on sale ALL the time on Best Buys website so dont ever pay full price! The 16 foot and 4 foot versions go on sale every couple weeks....the 8 foot versions dont seem to go on sale as much but i have been watching these lights for over a year on here and they are ALWAYS on sale ...sometimes the deal of the day as well! In the picture you will see a GREAT cheaper alternative to these that are just as bright but run off smart devices! They literally look identical to these insignia lights when lit up same color same brightness, only they are over 9 ft long compared to the 4 ft. and they cost like 15 bucks! Good luck!
I use these all the time for projects around the house and in cars. Strips are normal rgb strips when you cut them up, and they come with a 120v power adapter. The actual rgb controller is 12v, you if you dont use the adapter for 120v you can hardwire these in vehicle applications for 12v. I like that it only uses the remote and doesn't use an app. The remote is quicker and easier to use.
Functions exactly as described. My only issue is that even at the lowest brightness setting it is really bright! I totally get the issues other reviewers have brought up on that front.
So far no issues at all and I like the shade of the colors you can cycle through … but there aren’t a lot. You know this going in, but you still want more!
Bought it during a deal of the day type deal but wouldn’t buy at regular price — not good value then.
Wish it were a little longer, but works perfect. The double stick tape on it is better than other similar light strips I’ve purchased in the past. No remote like the others, but still a simple functionality to it. Definitely worth it if you can snag on a deal of the day deal for a few bucks off. Used it to light the underside of our bar area.
Exactly what I was looking for, but at a fraction of the cost.
I was looking for a colored LED strip to complete my dream desk set up.
I almost bought a more expensive Wi-Fi LED automation option, but felt that may have been more than what I wanted to pay for mere aesthetics.
As I was leaving Best Buy, I found this via their mobile app. It was like 20 bucks vs 80 or so for the other option. Couldn’t pass it up.
The length was perfect and the color options are great.
I couldn’t be more pleased.
it does have 16 different shades of RGB and white, and it's really bright, put it around my closet doors and light fills up the room, the remote can activate without you pointing at it also light up other of the same light strip with just 1 remote if you plan on getting more than one.

Does its job, beautifully
Owned for 1 month when reviewed.
It's a light strip which has an adhesive backing, and gets its power through USB. You can use three buttons which turn it on/off, change color, and change brightness.
A remote would be nice, or if the power cable were longer and could be put in a more convenient location, as right now I bend all the way down to turn it on (it is the underglow for my TV stand).
The adhesive could have also been better, but I understand why it's weak so that it doesn't damage equipment. On wood, it cannot support its own weight when stuck to the bottom. My solution is packing tape along the entire run.
I think it should be $5 - $10 cheaper.
Otherwise, I got pretty colorful ambient lighting!
A:AnswerIT HAS AN ON/OFF SWITCH THAT REMEMBERS ITS SETTING. IF YOU LEAVE IT ON, WHEN THE USB PORT IS POWERED ON 'SUCH AS TURNING YOUR TV ON' IT WILL LIGHT UP. AND VICE VERSA ITLL TURN OFF WHEN THE PORT LOSES POWER WHEN TV IS TURNED OFF. THE BRIGHTNESS SETTING IS ALSO REMEMBERED.
I understand that you left us this question because this is a concern for you. To be quite honest with you, if it is attached directly to the wall, most likely the adhesive tape will pull off paint if removed, specially if delicate paint. The adhesive needs to be secure and last for a long time. We are always here to help you and thanks for your preference.

A:AnswerYes. White is one of the colors. There’s 20 different colors that are toggled through each time u press the color button. More like a few different shades of 5 or 6 colors. There’s 3 buttons. One for color, one for brightness and a power button. My girlfriend loves it
A:AnswerI have the 6-foot non-color version of this LED light strip plugged into my LG OLED C7 display and it turns on when I turn on my display; however, it doesn't immediately turn off with the display, but does turn off by itself - usually in 30 minutes or so.
