Setup: Out of the box, I had some initial difficulties with getting the camera set up. I wasn't able to activate the camera for some unknown reason. I checked the app for updates and didn't see any. I ended up finding a fix by downloading the latest app directly through the insta360 website. This ended up letting me finally activate the X4. Add-ons: It comes with a pair of lens covers and a carrying case. Performance: The improvement from the X3 is actually fairly noticeable. The jump from 5.7k to 8k video recording sharpens the footage and removes excessive graininess. HDR video and photo was especially good and the different "lab" options in the insta360 app made the possibilities endless. Battery life: This is where I saw the biggest difference. The X3 sports a 81 minute battery life while recording while the X4 shows off an impressive 135 minute battery life. This increase is due to the 2290mAh lipo battery. If you've ever used a GoPro or any action camera in general, you'll know that a 2+ hour battery life is insane! In 360!!! Conclusion: Truth be told, I've only had a few hours of play time with this device and can't really provide a better review, but as a previous, GoPro, Insta360 x2, and x3 owner, I can say confidently that this new iteration is an amazing value.
