Description
Features
39 dBA
Provides the quietest cleaning available from KitchenAid® Dishwashers, so there’s no need to wait to run a wash cycle while entertaining and enjoying meals, even in open concept kitchens.
ProWash™ Cycle
Uses sensors to measure soil levels throughout the cycle and adapts wash time and water temperature as needed for tough messes or lighter loads, because no two meals or the dishes that result are exactly the same.
Heat Dry Option
Heats both the final rinse water and the air inside the dishwasher to help dishes come out dry and ready for your next creation.
Third Level Utensil Rack
Provides additional space for long and flat items like silverware, serving utensils and spatulas.
Extended Heat Dry Option
Extends the Heat Dry Cycle time by 14 minutes for items that need extra drying time.
Durable Stainless Steel Interior
Offers the beauty and benefits of stainless steel inside the dishwasher. It resists streaks, stains and odors, while retaining heat to help improve drying.
SatinGlide® Rails in Third and Middle Racks
Move smoothly for easy loading and unloading.
Express Wash Cycle
Cleans in less time, so you always have the dishes you need while prepping, cooking and entertaining.
Top Controls
Are tucked away on top of the dishwasher door for a clean look to match your kitchen style. An indicator light on the front of the door changes colors to subtly display cycle progress.
Adjustable Middle Rack
Adds flexibility to fit tall items like a stand mixer bowl. Lower the rack to place large dishes inside or raise it to make room for platters, pitchers, blender jars and more in the rack below

Dishwasher won't fit.
||Posted .The tech agents weren't able to fit the dishwasher in my cabinet opening so I'm having to get a handyman to help with this dilemma. I like what I see so far but I will give another rating when they come back to finish the install.

Fantastic and quite
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I’ve had this about 3-4 weeks and I love it! Delivery was easy and quick. The sound is very quite especially compared to my older model. Sometimes I forget it’s even running! The only thing that could be approved upon during this experience was trying to get the price match guarantee. However, that has nothing to do with the quality of this dishwasher rating/review.

Nice dishwasher!
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This dishwasher is very quiet and it cleans really good. The finish is beautiful and very easy to clean. The only con is the kick plate. It does not fit across the whole bottom of the unit. I see the sides and dust can collect under the unit. An easy fix would be to supply a longer piece. The kick plate be cut to fit since it’s plastic.

KitchenAid Upgrade
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed. We replaced a Whirlpool Dishwasher during an kitchen renovation. The new KitchenAid Top Control Built in is performing as advertised. Not only is it an upgrade to our new kitchen, it is very quiet, cleans and dries well and is stylish. We're happy with the purchase, time will tell the full story. I expect we'll have this for a long time.

We love it!
||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Couldn’t be happier with this KitchenAid dishwasher! It’s so quiet, and cleans much better than our previous unit. And the extra rack provides more room, and is so convenient. My wife loves the PrintShield fingerprint proof stainless steel, easy to keep sparkling!

My Kitchenaid Dishwasher is a Keeper!
||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This Kitchenaid dishwasher has been amazing! I love the three racks. The way the racks are arranged are great and easy to load. I can tell my dishes are so clean. My previous Kitchenaid dishwasher did a good job for ten years but the electronics finally died. I definitely would buy this product again. Jan C in Cleveland TN.

Excellent dishwasher
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This dishwasher is great. It is very quiet and easy to use. I love the 3rd top rack. Nice feature. This piece completes the set. Now I have matching appliances. Another thing I like is the fact that I can start the dishwasher right after dinner and it won't interfere with the television. We love the top mounted controls. Gives you lots of options even for baked on foods.

Q: QuestionWe are debating between this DW and the Bosch 500 series, which was what we previously owned and loved. This DW is 39 db vs 44 dv for the Bosch. Is there a significant detectable difference in sound? Does this DW have the pop open door air dry feature?
Asked by NewDW.
- A:Answer I did extensive research on dishwashers, Bosch 500/800 and KitchenAid have the least amount of repair calls. But, all makes do get their fair amount. I went to Best Buy to get the Bosch 500, they were actually out of stock and it was on back order for 3 more months. I ended up getting the KitchenAid KDTE204KPS, this is the next down from pop open door. It was on sale for $854.99. Super quiet, and dries dishes very well. 3rd rack on top is shallow, just for flatware. Next one up does have deeper third rack. Very pleased with this dishwasher and would recommend to others to buy. I previously had a 46 dB Whirlpool. To answer your question, It was quiet too, but not a huge difference between the Whirlpool and new KitchenAid @ 39 dB.

Q: QuestionAre there options for the door handles? I don't like the red ends shown in the picture.
Asked by Josh.
- A:Answer Yes, there are two (2) other color options for the medallions at each end of the handle. The dishwasher ONLY comes with all red medallions. The optional colors can be purchased separately for less than ten bucks a pair as follows: Chrome with Red Lettering (Part Number W10846205), and Black with Red Lettering (Part Number W10846206). You can look for these part numbers on the internet. The handle and the medallions can be removed and reinstalled with an allen wrench. If you don't like any of the optional medallion colors, you can always remove and paint the medallions that come with the dishwasher.

Q: QuestionHow do i clean the filter on this?
Asked by Candace.
- A:Answer Every 1-3 months pull out the bottom tray, grasp the Filter Cup & rotate it 1/4 turn counterclockwise & remove, then remove filter plate. Rinse both under cold water or use a soft brush to remove any food stuff. Reseat Filter Plate under tabs, install Filter Cup into Filter Plate opening & rotate clockwise until it clicks into place.

Q: QuestionWill this fit in a rough opening space of 33.5 inches? Kitchenaid site says 33.5 https://www.kitchenaid.com/major-appliances/dishwashers/front-controls/p.39-dba-dishwasher-in-printshield%EF%BF%BD-finish-with-third-level-utensil-rack.kdfe204kps.html?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer 24 width x 24 depth x 34.5 height is a standard opening. With the adjustable legs all the way in its 33.5 but can be adjusted the extra inch to fill the gap.
Answered by Kosta
Q: QuestionI don't understand why the "product height" is 34.5 yet it says the minimum height of the space needed is 34 inches. That would seem to mean it wouldn't fit. My cut out space is 34.5 high, would this dishwasher fit?
Asked by mrjro.
- A:Answer Yes it will fit. My opening is also 34 1/2" and fit in comfortably. It has adjustable legs to raise or lower.
Answered by Wesley
Q: QuestionIs the hight adjustable?
Asked by Me.
- A:Answer Yes, you can adjust the legs up to an inch.
