Solid choice
||Posted .After pouring over about 100 slightly different available models, we finally decided on this KitchenAid model. It seemed to have the right combination of good looks, features, and price, and after living with it for several weeks, I'm still very happy with our decision. One of the main drivers in our choice was that this unit still has two separate dispensers for ice and water. Most of the models have lowered cost by including only one dispenser so that you have to push a button or two to switch back and forth. Sounds trivial, but actually a pain if you are a frequent ice water drinker and want to quickly fill a glass with only one hand available. Only complaint is that when first installed a rather annoying ticking noise was coming from the back of the unit. I unscrewed the back panel and found that a piece of tape was flapping against the fan. Easily fixed with a screwdriver and scissors.....lucky for me I'm handy enough to sort this out.....others may not have been so willing to investigate.

I really want to give it 5 stars
||Posted .I would love to give this refrigerator five stars because it's gorgeous and I do love everything about it! BUT the first one we got the freezer nor the ice cube maker worked so they ordered us a new one, and gave us the floor model while waiting about two weeks for the new one. We recieved the new one and unfortunately it had a dent on the side (which very well could've been the delivery team) but also the water dispenser doesn't work!!! Kitchenaid gladly scheduled me a maintenance appointment so I hope everything can get fixed because if it weren't for these few things it would be perfect!!

KitchenAid - Architect Series II 28.6 Cu. Ft. Fren
||Posted .My Maytag compressor failed after 7 years, I assume it should last more than 10 years. Cost to fix it is 900 dollars. So shop for new one and know that Kitchen Aid is expensive but found out its compressor is up to 10 years warranty instead of 1 year for Whirpool's family like Maytag. So you know its expensive price includes the extended warranty. Will not consider this machine originally, MSRP $3300, but with discount down to $2500 with larger size and 10 years warrant is worth the try. It's compressor is still noisy but tolerable and according to my wife it can keep the food fresh 1 week longer than the old Maytag. Huge inside with LED gradually light on and silver color inside instead of pure white which you will be tired to see once you see this color. Got two drawers in the freezer which use the space nicely. Only thing missing is the 4th door. I know Whirpool has exactly same model with 4th door but the inside color is white and 1 year of compressor warrant plus about $2400 make it a obvious choice here. Kitchen Aid should come out a new model with 4th door soon with 28.6 cut feet size. It does has a 4th door model now with 25 cut feet and white color. But its chunky ice maker inside make it feel small. If this machine can last longer than 10 years, I will be happy to buy another Kitchen Aid after that.

So far we love it
||Posted .Only thing we learned having never had a bottom freezer is to make sure your items don't block the vents in the bottom which caused it to freeze up. I would have given it 5 stars if its design would have figured that if people put things in the bottom they should not be able to actually block the vents. However know this you just have to be conscientious. Still a great frig a the price. We thoroughly love it.

Not quite what I expected...
||Posted .I chose this product because of the French door design, which I absolutely love! This refrigerator/freezer has many amenities that make it a good purchase, however the ice maker leaves much to be desired. The ice cubes are smaller than what I've been used to, they are not thick and therefore they melt quickly. For this reason alone, although I would purchase the French door design, I would not choose a Kitchen Aid again.

Almost Great!
||Posted .I have owned this fridge for almost a year now and overall it has been a great purchase except for one nagging issue. The freezer has began having a build up of ice on one side of the door. Whenever I called the manufacturers customer service their only response was that it was installed improperly and I need to level it, they said they would not send anyone out to look at the issue. Still waiting to get this issue resolved.

Q: QuestionNoisy motorWe have had this refrigerator and it is the nosiest refrigerator we have ever had. It makes pop and crack noises we think is in the ice maker and the motor is loud. Very annoying since our kitchen is connected to our sitting room. Is this a mark of this item? What can we do? Becky Gahr
Asked by Becky G.
- A:Answer Popping could be the unit going into DeRosa mode. Motor noise is different what kind of noise is it making.
