Doesn't grind all of the beans.
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Nice grinder, but not all of the beans are ground. I've tried all different ways to correct this, but unground beans are still on top of the brewed grounds. After grinding the beans I add some cinnamon and grind a second or two longer - that's why the grounds in the pic have brown in them, fyi.

Great Grinder
||Posted .I was in need of s coffee bean grinder but really never looked for one. I was in Best Buy and happened to see this one and bought it. The price was good and the brand has an excellent reputation. Upon using it I was very pleased and knew I made a good purchase. It is simple but extremely well made. It does and excellent job!

This is a neat product.
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. On a recent trip to the Balcones Distillery in Waco, I picked up a bag of their coffee, not knowing that the beans were not ground until I returned home. Then, while shopping at HEB, I found a bag of their San Antonio blend in the clearance corner. I grabbed it and again, did not find out the beans were unground until much later. Time to get a coffee grinder. I searched the Internet for them and checked a few stores, but eventually ended up at Best Buy after reading the reviews on this one and seeing that the store nearest to me had one left. Reading the instructions before use is a must with this product. I managed to grind most of the beans. The metal bowl is graduated and after filling it with beans, did not hold the top down long enough, plus the grounds tended to clump in some areas. This was alleviated by shaking the entire grounder while grinding and watching the beans get pulverized. I have not had any issues since. This is a great product and my wife, although does not drink coffee, was happy for the color as it matches the other kitchen appliances and paint job.

Works great !!
||Posted .Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed.Works great !! Replaced and older model that died after many years of faithful service. My only complaint is that it is sometimes hard to get the ground coffee out of the container (have to scrape it out). I also recommend you don't fill the grinder more than half full with unground beans - you get a better, more uniform grind.

Very good product with one flaw
||Posted .Owned for 10 months when reviewed.Very good product with one flaw: if you open it to check the result and want to grind a little more it will be the problem: the small coffee particles coming between the cap and the body and preventing cap to push the switch. Need to clean first. Quite uncomfortable.

Q: QuestionHow well does the grind your coffee and does it have a Settings from 1 to 10 to grind the coffee
Asked by Normie.
- A:Answer No this does not have any setting for 1-10, it's a small push pulse grinder you can control the fineness of coffee powder by slowly pulsing the grinder.

Q: QuestionDoes it grind coffee beans evenly? Also, I will be using it to grind for cold brew so I need a coarse grind. Would the be suitable for this purpose? I have never purchased a coffee grinder so any info is helpful. Thanks!
Asked by Beckyloo.
- A:Answer I've found that to get an even grind, you have to grind the coffee for a bit, shake up the partially ground coffee in the grinder and repeat the process until you get the level of even grind you desire. This is the only way I personally have been able to get an even grind. It's not annoying or problematic to me; it just forces you to be an active participant in the grinding process.

Q: QuestionIs this good for espresso makers? Espresso machines require finer grind so I was wondering if this will work for my espresso machine? Thanks!
Asked by Nady.
- A:Answer I would not recommend for espresso grinding. I have been told that a burr (spelling?) grinder is best for that. My next purchase will be the burr grinder.

Q: QuestionCan we grind spices also in it??
Asked by Shri.
- A:Answer It is capable of grinding spices but I would not recommend it is as some of the spice oils are very pungent and will affect the flavor of the coffee

Q: QuestionCan it be used for a small number (4) of medicine pills? Thanks!
Asked by Alice.
- A:Answer Probably not if the pills are small. The blade sits up from the bottom of the grinder cup, so if they aren't big enough to touch the blade they can't get ground up.

Q: QuestionCan it be used overseas on 220V voltage ?????
Asked by Haifar.
- A:Answer Hi Haifar, The 120 volt (U.S.) appliances are not compatible with 220/240 volt requirements of other countries (as well as vice versa). What many consumers are not aware of is the potential danger that differences in cycles/second can create. Where in the United States electricity is delivered at 60 Hertz (Hz), most other countries deliver the electricity at 50 Hz. Running 60 Hz appliances in a 50 Hz environment forces the motor in your appliance to run at a slower speed, and can potentially cause immediate motor or operational failure. Not only is this failure not covered by any manufacturer's warranty, but has been known to result in electrical shortages and/or fires. Additionally, KitchenAid does not recommend the use of a transformer for any KitchenAid countertop appliance. Doing so could cause damage to your appliance or the home electrical system, as noted above. In order to take advantage of a full warranty, we encourage our customers to purchase KitchenAid products from their international country of residence. By purchasing a unit in the appropriate country, one may pay slightly more, but will have a 1-3 year warranty (depending on the country), along with available service.
