Works great and looks great
Verdict: The Lenovo IdeaCenter 27” Touch-Screen All-In-One provides capable specs in a very nicely designed form factor. It works very smoothly and looks great. Lots of great value here. Who is this for: Teens, young adults, and adults who need a computer at home do to school work, telework, and other computer work. This is also great for most employees of small businesses. This is not a computer for serious gamers or graphics design. Anecdote. When I unpacked this computer, my daughter asked me why I ordered a new monitor. A bit confused, I told her that it was a computer, not a monitor. Then, she was confused and said that she thought it was a monitor because it had no bump outs or extra thick screen for the computer parts. … It’s remarkable, this computer is essentially the same design and footprint as a thin flatscreen monitor, but it packs a capable computer. Really nice design! First impressions. Pulling computers out of boxes is usually tricky and awkward… Not this time! When opening the box, there are two handles in the foam that easily lift the entire computer out of the box. The computer is fairly light so I was able to unpack it myself. Most easy unboxing of a computer ever! It comes with a basic wireless mouse and wireless keyboard. The screen is very thin and looks great. The color of the package looks nice. The base contains ample inputs. Buttons are easy to find and use. Unfortunately, the monitor does not slide up or down. I love the USB-C and headphone jack access on the side of the base, great idea! Installation. Computer comes assembled; no setup required… Just plug and play. The USB adapter for the mouse is under the “hood” of the mouse (the part your hand rests on). This was a standard Windows setup, with no issues. It took me about 15 minutes to access the desktop. Esthetics. This desktop looks great. The wireless mouse and keyboard are a nice touch to finish an organized and uncluttered work space. Personally, I like the dark gray color, but it may not be for everyone. General computer performance. The computer works very smoothly on day-to-day tasks, word processing, streaming, and web activities. However, with only 8GB of RAM, significant multitasking will slow down performance. In my testing, I opened two programs and had a browser open with 8 tabs, leading to about 6GB of RAM being used, and leaving some space for a few additional tasks. With the basic graphics card, this computer will support entry- to mid-level games, but will struggle with graphics-intensive applications and games. Storage capacity of 512GB is adequate for this computer; SSD drive makes for snappy startup and operation. There is webcam, integrated microphone, and pretty good speakers. Of note, the camera has a slide button that seems to turn off the camera, but it is not a physical privacy shutter. Display. The full-HD 27” screen looks pretty good and is much more enjoyable than smaller screens… 27” is definitely the way to go. Resolution will be perfectly fine for most people, but pixelation is noticeable on small fonts, otherwise most content looks good. The screen is also a touchscreen, but I don’t see the value of this feature on a big computer like this, and I certainly don’t want fingerprints all over the monitor. Things I love. - Easy unboxing! - Overall good specs for an office computer - Compact, organized, and uncluttered look - Nicely designed features - The 27” full-HD touchscreen monitor allows for more productivity, with a small overall footprint - HDMI output to connect an external monitor - It looks like it has an HDMI-in to use the computer as an external monitor - Wireless charger for cellphones is built into the base, awesome!! - It has WiFi 6 Things I don’t love. - All computers with a webcam should have a physical privacy shutter option - The base appears like it allows up/down movement of the screen, but it doesn’t - Only one USB-C input, which is probably not enough. Overall: 2 x USB-A 2.0 (one used by the mouse/keyboard), 1 x USB-A 3.2, 1 x USB-C 3.2. - A lighted keyboard would have been great Overall, this is a solid all-in-one computer for students, home offices, and small businesses. It comes with the necessary specs to perform daily tasks, without adding unnecessary upgrades that may add to cost – all this in a very nicely packaged compact design. For the price and form factor, I think this is a very competitive offering that delivers better bang for the buck than comparable computers. I recommend this computer for home and office uses; I think that most people will be very happy with it.

Great Home PC. Well Rounded and Incredibly Capable
The Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 27" is an incredible value and a great home or office PC. I have spent the last week or so using this at home, and it has handled every task with ease. I needed a family PC because my kids are at the age where they are starting to do more online learning, and it made sense to get this AIO for them to do homework and continue learning programs over the summer. I'll go through some pros and cons I found, as well as who I think this system is perfect for. Pros: 1) Nice and big touch screen with plenty of real estate. The touch screen is very accurate and responsive. While this feature is nice to have, I won't be using it all the time, but the kids seem to like it. The screen is also thinner than expected, contrasting with older, chunkier AIO systems that are a bit of an eyesore. This Lenovo is thin in all the best ways and minimalistic. The small bezels help it blend into its surroundings. Plenty of IO on the back and sides of the center stand that houses the PC. On the back, there are 2 HDMI ports, 3 USB A ports, and 1 ethernet port. On the left side of the stand, there is a USB C port as well as a headphone jack. 2) This system is no slouch. Thanks to the snappy AMD Ryzen 5 Processor and 512GB SSD, it handles everything from video streaming to standard productivity software with ease. Personally, I would like to see more than 8GB of RAM because my kids like to run tons of browser tabs, and you do notice some bottlenecks here. 3) The speakers sound great and it does have wireless charging for your phone. The built-in Qi charger in the base is something I almost overlooked but love that it's there. For such a minimalist AIO PC, Lenovo really put time into all the features in this unassuming machine. Cons: 1) Could use 16GB of RAM. As mentioned above, 16GB of RAM would really polish the experience. 2) The IPS panel is fine, but viewing angles aren't the best, and the resolution could be much better for this size of display. Personally, I think that 1080P for a 27" display is too low for things like text. 3) The range of motion for the display is minimal. You can't move it up or down, and the tilt angles are incredibly limited. I don't see this being an issue for my family, but it's something to keep in mind. Who is this PC for? The Lenovo IdeaCentre is a great option for anyone who needs a turn-key home computer to do everyday tasks. Being a slim AIO system, it would work with any home office setup without worrying about where to put a tower or being limited to a laptop. For these reasons, it would also be a great office PC for general use. You should keep in mind that you most likely will not be able to upgrade the hardware in the future, but I wager that most people purchasing this system won't be looking to tackle that anyway. This system fits my needs perfectly and delivers on everything promised. The IdeaCentre AIO 27 delivers on its promises of being a powerful turn-key all-in-one PC at a great price point.

A+ All in One. Phone Charger Needs Improvement.
The Lenovo IdeaCentre All in One (AIO) arrived well packed in perfect condition. It was very easy to do the set up - once I found the power button. I finally gave up and had to Google it. The power button is well hidden on the right side of the stand. Many PCs require a wired keyboard and mouse for the initial steps and wireless devices can only be used after the settings menu is accessible. With the Lenovo AIO, I was able to complete all the initial steps using the touchscreen and then install the included wireless keyboard and mouse later on. Having a wireless keyboard and mouse included with the computer was a big plus for me. The set up was amazingly smooth. The AIO connected immediately to the router and later to the printers - without pressing any buttons on them - even though they were in another room. The software offered to copy my apps and files from my other PC, which was a bonus. As usual I had to fight with Edge to install Chrome. It seemed a little harder this time but I eventually won. The Lenovo AIO is heavy at 16 pounds, which is good and bad. Once it’s set it’s very stable. Pushing a cable or USB stick into the back doesn’t budge it. I didn’t have to hold it down while pushing. But repositioning the AIO can’t be done by just sliding it left or right. I haven’t been able to get the screen to adjust up and down, but it has a wide tilt range from -5 to 15 degrees, which is more than most. I think I will be OK with just the tilt, but ideally I would like to raise the screen a little bit. It has more plugs and jacks than any PC I’ve had lately. They are all across the back and also on the side of the base. There is a headphone jack and a USB-C on the side and a LAN, 2 HDMI, and 3 USB input/outputs in the rear. Missing are 2 things I need but can’t find any more - an SD card reader and a DVD drive. The sound is very good, as is the video quality. The size of the 27 inch screen is perfect. The sharpness of text is much better than on the stand-alone monitors that I’ve tried lately, although not quite as good as on my 4K monitor. The preloaded software lists Microsoft 365, but I haven’t been able to get to it without giving up my credit card number for future payment after a trial period. It’s not free as implied. McAfee LiveSafe 30-day trial is also included. The base doubles as a phone charger - although it doesn’t work for all phones and it is very slow. The light on the base blinks orange when it detects a phone, and white when it is charging. I wasn’t surprised when it didn’t detect my old iPhone 6, but expected better results with my Microsoft Surface Duo 2 android phone. With the Surface Duo 2 I get a blinking orange light, but I can’t get the white charging light to come on, no matter where I position the phone. I also have a Google Pixel phone. That one did activate the charger once I positioned it exactly in the center of the base. It took much longer to charge than with a wall charger. It charged at roughly 10% per hour. When I accidentally left it on the base overnight, the phone was fully charged in the morning, but both it and the stand were very hot. There must not be an automatic shut off at 100%. I can see the base charger being a place to lay a cell phone while working at the computer to keep the battery topped off. But if it really needed a charge, a wall charger would be at least 10 times faster. I give an A+ to the AIO computer. I don’t use the touchscreen much, but it’s nice to have on those few occasions when I need it. The phone charger is a good idea, but needs some improvement so that it is compatible with more brands and charges more quickly.
