good affordable replacement phone
||Posted .I bought this on sale for $40 to replace an LG Fiesta 2 I bought a year and a half ago for $100 (which would have been $200 if not on sale). I fell on my old phone, breaking its screen and rendering it unusable, and did not want to wait a week or pay more to replace it. The new phone's screen is half an inch smaller, its battery life not quite as long, and its camera a slightly lower resolution, but in every other way is at least as good or better than my older more expensive phone. It seems to run faster. I quite like the more up to date Android 8.1 OS. LG TracFones, unlike Samsung TracFones, do get security updates. All of my apps and data transfered from my old phone easily, except for a memo app. The package says that it can only use microSD cards up to 32 GB, but I have had no problems at all using a 128 GB microSD card instead. It recognizes all the space ans uses it just as well as phones that say they can use 2TB cards.

Nice Phone
||Posted .Bought this to replace a Tracfone LG Rebel 3. This is rated as having a faster processor, better screen resolution and higher resolution cameras plus some added new features. I could not tell much difference in speed or resolution. Doesn't make this a bad phone, but isn't much of an upgrade from the Rebel 3 for me though it may be for someone else. I guess I didn't need the upgrade but that was my choice and thats OK. Having only a 5" screen (tall format without the width guessing to save bulk and price) it actually seems easier to read/view many things on my old Rebel 3 because the Rebel 3, having a lower resolution screen, the objects/text are larger on the Rebel 3 than on the Rebel 4. I tried changing screen settings, but not much changed, Also, the 4 like the 3, has the power button on the back instead of the normal side mounted location. I am getting more used to this location, but I still don't know if I like it and still wonder why the reason for change. I do like the "knock on" feature. I had it on an older phone called the Tribute (don't know if it was a LG) and missed having it. I like both the Rebel 3 & 4 phones and would highly recommend either of them. Someday someone has to explain to me the difference between a $50 phone and a $200+ phone. This phone does everything I need and does everything my friends with their expensive phones claims theirs does.

Just what I need!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I'm not much of a phone talker/texting/games kind of person so I did not feel like an unlimited plan was the most cost efficient way for me to go. With this phone I can purchase minutes/data as needed which saves me a lot of money. Tracfone plans are versatile so I can purchase just what I need to keep connected on all levels. The phone is easy to use and has all of the programs/apps that I need. The size is big enough without weighing me down. It is very thin, too. The price was great (about $40). Tracfone uses Verizon network so over the many years of using Tracfone services, I've never had a problem with dropped calls or roaming. I purchased the same phone for my mother but on Straight Talk's program (a sister company of Tracfone). She needed an unlimited plan for talk and Straight Talk had one that was just the right price per month for her. She is not very tech savvy (at 86 years) but is able to manage navigating this phone. Overall, I am very pleased but do wish that the notifications volume could be louder since I have slept through notifications of texts several time. Also, wish it had a notifications visual signal like my last LG phone did since I sometimes am busy at time of notification and then forget that a text came in. It is up to me to remember to check my phone frequently and since I have a pass code, it is a little bit annoying.

Suffices for my work phone
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I take care of my senior parents' Tracfone account, as they aren't into all of this tech stuff. We added them to our unlimited plan with AT&T as they have no concept of using data and were going through it like water. That being said, I had a one year plan on the Tracfone, so decided to keep it as my "work" phone, and my employer has been pressuring me to add work e-mails to my cell and stuff. Am reluctant to do it with my personal phone that I use every day and take everywhere, but is not provided by work. So this is the alternative, at least for this year. Can get e-mail (at home with a network connection), and do all of my conference calls. Phone does everything, I need it to. Outside of home, I can get calls in case of emergency, but don't have the e-mail access, which allows me my off time. Win-Win for everyone.

Does everything I need
||Posted .Replaced three year old LG Rebel TracFone with this phone. Google stuff to transfer data from old phone didn't work - TracFone has its own app that did work. Little bigger, more memory, faster, better camera than old phone. Just what I was looking for. My old LG Rebel was more reliable than my wife's iPhone at 1/10th the price. Hope this one is as good.

Got a Good Deal
||Posted .So far this phone has performed well, no manufacturing issues. Picked it up on sale for $40.00., and though it doesn't have a few of the bells and whistles that the way more expensive phones have, it will be just fine for what it will be used for. Too bad Best buy and TracFone didn't get their act together so I would not have had to email documentation of the purchase to TracFone to get the thing activated.

My first android phone and I love it.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Because it was explained and demonstrated so well by an associate, I was amazed at what this phone was capable of doing. And the more I play around with it the more I discover about it's functions. Because I'm somewhat advanced in age, I am getting used to reacting faster to answer calls and messages. However, I am thoroughly pleased with this phone and it is more than I was hoping for.

Solid starter phone for kids
||Posted .Solid phone, its and LG and this is a good starter phone to start your kids off of. You dont have to add them onto your own plan and the way the phone works they have to learn how to manage their minutes and texts. Or they have to do some chores to earn more. 15 a month for 30 days of service at a time is better then getting stuck in a 3 year contract for an extra line. And this phone is cheap enough to not worry as much about them losing it. But featured enough that its not outdated. If you dont want to buy time on it for a month, its still an android tablet.

Q: QuestionI have an older LG 238c flip phone. I recently got a message about needing to upgrade my phone due to network upgrades by the end of this year. Will this phone be compatible with the new changes?
Asked by wecarealot83097.
- A:Answer I got the same message. The link they sent me of phones to replace my LG includes the rebel 4 so I guess this would work. I bought this about 2 weeks ago before I got the message and I hope it will work with the network upgrade. Tracfone stopped double and triple minutes so the new phones are minute for minute on the purchased refills. There are also smartphone specific plans. You can use either the original plans, the new smartphone plans or combine them to suit your needs. A search on the Web says your unused minutes will transfer to this phone. I am waiting to transfer the service to this phone until I add more minutes on my current phone as I am getting triple minutes now and hope I will get all the minutes I have unused

Q: QuestionCan we use the prepaid card for calling only, and hook up the phone to our home or business wifi network to use apps/internet/data?
Asked by Kitt.
- A:Answer Yes, the LG Rebel 4 can send and receive phone calls with a prepaid card and would be able to connect to the internet via wi fi only, if necessary. You might not need to use the mobile data function if you keep the device in range of the connected wi fi signal.

Q: QuestionThis may seem like a silly question, but I never used GPS systems. But does this phone use up minutes when using the GPS feature that comes with this model?
Asked by tracfoneuser3.

Q: QuestionI have a TracFone LG flip phone. Is the sim card compatible to the sim in the 4 LTE phone? Can I keep my current phone number? Is my service time and minutes transferable? Is my double minutes for life transferable?
Asked by maslow.
- A:Answer If you mean the data sim card and it is a micro SD card, it should work with this phone. I don't know if the data on the card will be read by the rebel 4. If you have data on it, it is best to off load it with it still in your flip phone then transfer the data to the new phone after you install the card into the new phone. You should be able to keep your phone number, unused minutes and service time. I have upgraded Tracfones in the past and have always kept them all. I don't know what they will do about texts and data amounts coming from a flip phone to a smartphone. They no longer offer double or triple minutes so your double for life ends with your old phone. Fill it up with a bunch of minutes at double minutes before you transfer your service to the new rebel 4 phone. You should get them all when you do the service transfer. You can still use the original add airtime plans. They also have smartphone plans. Use either or both to suit your needs.
