Got these on sale at Best Buy for $9.99 and It works beautifully on my Dell XPS M1530 laptop. I primarily play class games on emulators, watch Netflix, listen to music and talk radio on iHeart Radio. If you are were looking for a quality experience for a home theater setup or a hardcore gaming scenario, these are not for you , they are for the basics and use within reasonable audio levels for comfortable listening. The only thing that may bother some people is the wide angle AC Adapter, it strongly resembles a phone charger I have in my drawer. May not be adaptable to all surge protector models because of the plug. Have no idea if you can replace the adapter to conform to your plugs or not but I did not have that problem sooooo...... It was so cheap to purchase I wanted to purchase another pair for my Netbook but they did not have anymore quantity in the store. If you have bad quality speakers that need upgrading, get these while they are at this price. Id say that if I paid full price it would even be worth it too.

Good quality sound for the price

Bought these for a new Mac desktop i just got. Just needed some external sound to listen to music once in a while and general internet searching of videos and such. My son uses a program for teaching and needs sound for it. Didn't want to spend a lot as i usually use a high quality headset and didnt need crazy good speakers. These have great sound quality, not a lot of bass but good mids and highs. Tey are decently loud, enough to fill up two rooms with sound. Overall great buy and worth it. My negative was for power hookup, would be nice if it had an option for usb power instead of AC only but i would figure they wouldnt be as good/loud if it was only USB power so im ok with it. The box says 5w of power and i compared them to the insignia 8w ones with a sub and these were almost twice as loud. Don't go by whats on the box because brand makes a big difference in quality and sound. If you need some basic speakers and are not a big sound quality person these are great. Also movies sound pretty good on them too. No real complaints.

Great Deal But Whiny Power Adapter

***The high frequency whine some people are mentioning is coming from the switched-mode power adapter NOT from the speakers.*** The speakers themselves sound great for casual use. These aren't for serious music listening or an immersive media experience. You can enable Loudness Equalization by double clicking the speakers in your "playback devices" menu on your computer to get a little more volume out of them but they're totally usable out of the box. Even half volume is plenty loud enough for typical desk top usage where you're only a couple of feet away from the speakers. The one star is taken off for the power adapter. The power adapter is super cheap and the coil doesn't have any glue on it to dampen the vibrations causing the whine. You can just get a replacement 10v 0.7A adapter for a couple of bucks.

      Annoying feedback

I got these speakers because I wanted an external speaker other than my monitor speakers. For the price, it was a great deal. I constantly need to listen to audio whether it's through what I'm editing, or casual browsing. Since the speakers always need to be on, I have to deal with the terrible feedback that comes from it. I noticed the feedback about 2 weeks after the speakers were hooked up. The only way I can avoid it is if my music/audio is loud. But when I'm not listening to something or if I'm listening to it quietly, the feedback is there and annoying. Also the headphone jack is not compatible with my headphones, which is weird. I have Altec Lansing. If you're looking for cheap, these speakers are perfect. But if you're looking for quality, run from these. I'll be upgrading soon.

When I made this purchase, I was looking for something to replace my very old speakers (Logitech speakers w/sub). Focused my attention only on Logitech because my previous Logitech speakers, after many yrs, never failed to perform. All I needed was a basic set of descent sounding stereo speakers...... I'm not a gamer. The only minor inconvenience is the way these speakers turn on & off. The volume knob is also the on/off . I would prefer a push-button on/off switch, separate from the volume control. A push-button on/off switch would be easier to operate than trying to turn that little knob; also, there would be no need to readjust the volume every time the speakers are turned on. For the price, these speakers are a good buy.

These are a great set of basic speakers. Got a new computer for the office that didn't include speakers. Didn't need anything fancy or high-end as don't use them to listen to music, videos or for gaming. These work just fine for webinars and an occasional YouTube video. Easy plug-and-play installation. Easy to adjust sound level. Sound is well balanced between the two speakers. No hissing or crackling. All cables/wires are of adequate length. The speakers are a bit larger and boxier than I would have liked so do take up some space if placed on a desk. It's not a lot but enough to make them a bit difficult to place out of sight. Ended up just setting them on top of the new computer tower. Works just fine like that.

I purchased a new monitor & had to purchase new speakers. The original speakers I purchased didn't sound all that great, AND had very flimsy material covering the speakers. I exchanged these for the LOGITECH which not only have a metal covering over the speaker, but actually sound better. Since I don't listen to my music, or watch TV programs with this set-up. these speakers sound just fine. But if you DO listen to your music, or watch TV programs on your computer, you will probably be better off getting better speakers as these do not have a lot of base/bass. But just for regular computer sounds, they are more than adequate.

I bought a pair of these speakers for my wife's computer a few years ago (not at Best Buy) because they seemed to be right for the money. Her set has worked & sounded great up to today. The loaned speakers I had on my newer computer were old technology & needed replacing, so I looked to see if Logitech Z130 was still on the market. I found it was and found my local Best Buy had the lowest price on sale so was happy I could get a pair for myself and at a great price. A snap to hook up. I am very pleased with the sound quality, adjustable volume knob, on-light & available ear phone jack. They take up little space but put out solidly for their size. Highly recommended.
