I purchased for a trip to Europe where I wanted a lightweight tripod that was sturdy enough for my DSLR camera.
The pros: It is fairly lightweight and fit in the water bottle spot in my backpack. The tripod materials seem pretty sturdy compared to a lot of the other travel tripods I looked at.
Where it lacks: the legs are a twist lock design and often loosen after setting up. I always check multiple times the legs are fully tightened and secure before putting my camera on it, but even so, they start to slide when I add the camera. So frustrating and time consuming!! It makes me nervous my camera may end up on the ground, so I feel like I have to constantly spot it.
I also wish the plate was a quick release- it can be a bit if a pain to get the piece in there securely. That's just a little time consuming though.
It does come with a phone adapter, and I do find it works well with that, it's just not what I purchased it for. My guess is it is probably fine with super lightweight cameras, perhaps even a lighterweight dslr, but I know my camera is well under the 8.8 lbs it says it is good up to, and it STRUGGLES. I would return if I could, and will have to look for something else for the next trip.
