A: Yes. You can use either.

A: You dont need coffee filters, it come with a reusable one, as far as water filter im not sure i have already filtered water so i dont use one
A: The "off" button is the "brew now" button. As soon as you press it, the warmer timer shuts off, and the plate warmer turns off.
