I wasn't necessarily shopping for a portable charger - I have 5 other portable chargers I make do with - but this one captured my attention because of the carabinger clip. My other chargers have to be carried in my pocket or my hand when I'm using it to charge my phone; this clip would allow me to clip the charger to a belt loop or pocket or strap on my backpack while charging my phone (very convienent). My requirement was the portable charger must have dual USB output ports and both ports must support fast charging. Another stipulation was the charger must be able to charge my phone, a Note 4, at least twice before the charger needed to be charged. (FYI - I have to charge my phone at least twice a day and my other portable charger, save one, meet these requirements.) Even though the myCharge Max has these features, I purchased the Plus instead of the Max because the size of the Plus is more convenient and more in line with the size of my other portable chargers. Based on the specs, the Plus filled all my requirements. An added bonus was the Pass Through feature - the ability of the Plus charger to be charged when connected to an input power source while simultaneously charging devices connected to the USB output ports.
I habitually wait until my phone is between 15-20% or lower before recharging it. The first day I used the Plus, I was able to obtain 2 full charges for my phone. There was one LED still lit on the Plus' indicator lights after the second charge. I plugged in the Plus that evening and let it charge overnight back to 100%. The next two days, the Plus was depleted when my phone reached 99% on the second charge. The day after those two days, I was only able to get one full charge and the Plus was depleted when my phone reached 72% on its second charge. Thinkng I had a defective unit, I exchanged the charger for another one. The second Plus performed in the same fashion - the first time I used it, I could charge my phone to full capacity twice before the Plus was depleted. The following days of usage of the Plus as a portable charger resulted in obaining only one full charge and less and less of power on the second charge. After the second week of using the second Plus, I was getting only one full charge. The second charge would charge my phone up to roughly 30-40% before the Plus was depleted. Totally not what I expected. I ended up returning the second Plus unit. My other chargers cover a capacity range of 6800 to 20000 mAh. I've owned them for quite some time and I have yet to experience any dropoff in charging functionallity or capacity (and, yes, I get at least two full charges of my phone out of all of them).
The charger did live up to it's other features - supports fast-charging with both USB ports; the aforementioned Pass-Through feature; rugged case (although I think the flap that covers the ports is doomed to break off); the user-friendly carabinger clip; not slim but definitely lightweight. These are all excellent but the downside, for me, was the depleting charging capacity and, ultimately, I want a charger that can charge my phone at least twice on a continual basis. There are other chargers at an equal or lesser price, that, while lacking the much desired carabinger, can charge my phone twice, featurues dual USB output and supports fast charge for each USB output.
PS...the Plus comes with a micro USB cord. You would be wise to invest in a better cord.
