I cannot even tell you how much fun we've had with our wii. Definitely worth the price, if you can get one that is. The sports game is the one I play the most, which is the freebie you get w/ the console. I finally got wireless internet and am so glad that I did. For some extra "points" that you purchase, I got the internet and am downloading some old school nintendo games. Also, you will need to go out and buy more remotes so your friends can play too. I love everything about the wii and would totally recommend.

The Nintendo wii, has to be one of the greatest and unique inventions in entertainment market today. You get more then just the standard "Controller" Play as you have a controller known as the "Wii-Mote" which you have to turn, and spin and flick to play the games that you choose, such as my favorites "Mario Party, Ray-Man Raving Rabbids, Super Mario Galaxy and other sport aliases such as Bowling and tennis". The wii offers a Online service in which the user can access to a high speed internet and can connect and play games with other users and can use points that are found on a "Wii-Points Card" which can be bought at any place video games are sold, or you can buy them conveniently with your credit card straight from the system. These points will allow you to download content, such as games from the old Nintendo 64, and NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) and other downloadables aswell. The System itself can be fully backwards compatable in which you can play any Nintendo GameCube game on the wii itself. It might be hard to find one because the system is currently the cheapest, and my opinion and so many others

Wii is the best of the best!! I can be a Guitar Hero or a boxer,a tennis player and even golfer!! Really easy to set up. Creating a Mii charactor is fun in itself. My 79 yr old mother got back into her love of all games, bowling!! We call it our therapy time!! The WiiMote is easy to handle and light in weight. Our winter here in Wis this year was long and hard. Playing Wii games made it not so bad. Also,if you want a workout,play the boxing with someone or just by your self,you really get a work out!! I let my younger sisters play and they were also really impressed. "why are we going to the gym when we can get a work out playing Wii?" So...we went on a Wii console hunting for my sister. so many games out there to choose from.

The wii game console is excellent. It has very good games that you could play on. For example, wii fit, no other game console has wii fit.

i really like the Wii but the only broblum is that they dont have that meny games so it is ok. but if you are a vidiogammer like me i think you shoudent geat it

Many current gamers will say that the Nintendo Wii is not up to par with the other next gen consoles like the PS3 or the Xbox 360. Without HD capabilities or online gaming, people are beginning to wonder if the Wii will just die out as a fad. But, at half the price of either of those and selling out before stores even open, the system is making its own stand against the majority. The new Wii system is probably one of the most revolutionary ideas when it comes to next generation gaming platforms. The Wii is fantastic and provides what you’d expect from an advanced system. When you open the box, you are presented with a WiiMote, a Nun chuck, a sensor bar, the Wii Sports game, an optional vertical stand, and, of course, the Wii itself with all of its plugs and necessities. The overall setup was extremely easy, and doesn’t require any further installation other than plugging it all in. The power supply is sort of large, but it is expected for such a small system. When turned on, the Wii presents its channels, or the given options you can choose from to navigate to your needs. You can browse through the various channels which are the Game channel, the Mii channel, the Photo channel, the Wii Shop channel, the Weather channel, the News channel, and the Internet channel, which are listed as they appear on the screen. Probably one of the first things you’ll want to do is create a Mii, which by Mii, I mean You. The Miis are a group of customizable people that you can alter to look like you or anyone else. From hair color, eye color, size, height, and many more adjustable facial features, almost no face is impossible to recreate. This new Mii character will become the full fledged athlete representing you in the included WiiSports game. The gaming itself for the Wii system is completely unique. The PS3 has introduced a Sixaxis controller that can read movements and will display the outcome on the screen. However, the Sixaxis controller is only used in certain games, and usually only for brief periods of time. The Wii utilizes the motion sensing ability in every single one of its games. From the Tiger Woods franchise where you aim the remote down and swing as you would a golf club, or as in Top Spin, where you conduct the movements of tennis swings and watch them swing away. You think of it, and they’ve thought of it too! From guns, light sabers, pool-sticks, fishing poles, baseball bats, rowing, or running, the WiiMote offers a unique perspective on all activities. These remotes are just one of many accessories that the Wii system offers. The Wii has a large catalog of controllers, add-ons, colorful sleeves, attachments, and charging stations. But, sometimes it gets to be a bit frustrating. Each game lists on the back of its case the minimum required accessories that it takes to play them. Usually, it’s just the WiiMote and Nun Chuck, but on occasion, can include another item. The only accessories I have purchased beyond that of another WiiMote, is the charging station with the rechargeable battery packs, which have proved extremely useful since the batteries do not last that long. The Wii is a complicated system to create games for, which is why it’s all the more impressive when it can become capable of the great titles like Rock Band or Guitar Hero. By inserting the remote into the guitar or drum set, it basically acts as the transmitter for the instrument in question. By becoming capable of playing drums without waving the WiiMote around, the doors open for loads of more possibilities that I’m sure are just down the road! On top of everything, the Wii is backwards compatible, which is a defining element for some purchasers. It reads most to all Gamecube games but requires that there be a Gamecube controller present, which is what I meant earlier when I said that some games desire special items. And… to save games, you’ll also need a memory card. If you’re thinking of buying one of these Wiis, then you’d better bust out the lawn chairs and get ready to wake up early to sit outside, because even after they’ve been out for a while now, it’s still hard to come by them anywhere past an hour after opening. If it’s you’re first system, or not, the Wii makes a great alternative to the usual style of game play found in the other consoles. With graphics improving rapidly in every release, the Wii is catching up to the leaders and is showing little signs of becoming just a dying fad. If it’s family fun you’re after, or just a break from the shoot-em-up stuff, the Wii will not disappoint! This is one of the most promising systems on the market right now, and can be sure to deliver tons of entertainment and even more fun!

Pros: inexpensive, fun for the whole family, free game (Wii Sports) Cons: Remotes drain battery, no HD, no online multiplayer (as of yet) Let me start out by saying I'm not a console person. Sure, I'll play a 360 or a PlayStation if I'm at a friends house, but I never felt the incentive to shell out my hard-earned bucks on something I didn't fully enjoy. That was until the Wii. With it's innovative controls, gamers will truly feel as if they were in the game. For example, in a tennis match, you swing the Wii Remote, and your Mii -- a largely customizable virtual character used to represent, well, you -- will swing a racket. Or in "Legend of Zelda", you can slash your sword, and reel in a fish on a virtual fishing rod. And in "Need for Speed", how do you control the car? You hold it with both hands and then tilt it side to side as if holding a steering wheel! When you start up the Wii, you're presented with a variety of "channels". These include: the game channel, the Mii channel, the Photo channel, the Wii Shop channel, the Weather channel, the News channel, and the Internet channel. In the game channel, you can play games built for both the Wii and the GameCube, although for the GameCube you'll have to purchase a GameCube controller and memory card (if you want to save your games). In the Mii channel, you can make, share, and edit your Miis. In the Photo channel, you edit photos saved to your SD card. (Although the editor is extremely basic, it's more for fun than anything else) In the Wii Shop channel, you can puchase games for previous Nintendo consoles, and some "Wiiware", such as the Internet channel. With your credit card or a Wii Points card. The Internet channel is basically a heavily customized version of the Opera web browser. It even supports Flash! (Version 7, that is) My only complaint is that it costs 5 dollars. Now as the Wii is a "family console", I would highly recommend getting a second controller. And while I'm on the topic, consider getting a rechargeable battery pack. Those remotes sure do drain the batteries, especially if you connect the nunchuck. It's amazing to find practically every store sold out of Nintendo Wii. But it's no wonder why. First, compared to XBox 360 and Playstation 3, the latest generation of Nintendo game console is rather cheap. At only $249, if you don't want to spend the extra money on other popular consoles, the Wii is just as satisfying. But you can't compare apples with oranges, so unless you're into the typical Nintendo games (Mario, Zelda, and other games mainly concentrating on family entertainment), you might want to consider a different gaming console. The Wii's revolutionary technology is simply something I haven't seen anywhere. Depending on the game, it heavily relies on your hand moments and the controller's position. That is amazingly amusing, along with watching your friends and family play. The graphics are a degree better then it's predeccesor, the Nintendo GameCube, but nothing too extraordinary. The Wii comes with one controller and nunchuck, but one thing that really bothers me about the whole system is the fact that one controller costs about $40. While with some games you can get away without using the nunchucks, it is a requirement for popular games, such as Super Smash Brothers Brawl, which means that you'd have to pay another $20 for the nunchuck, adding already $60 for just one complete controller. On top of that, the controller uses batteries... But, for just $30 more, you can get a aftermarket brand battery charger (which, btw, I highly recommend you getting. It'll save you lots of money and time in the long run). So that makes over $90 of essential accessories. However, if you already own a gamecube and gamecube controllers, I'd recommend using that if you want to save money on additional players. It does take away from the experience but at least you can still play Wii games with it. Overall, this innovative game system is well worth the trial, especially if you're into family/group gathering type of fun. But even solo players will get some good kicks out of it. The accessories do add up in terms of $$$, but essentially it's a minor inconvenience that is easily forgivable once you get your hands onto it.
