best smartwatch for style and minimalists

      • My Best Buy® Elite Plus MemberElite Plus Member

I started with a Fitbit Charge, then Charge 2 HR, then a Samsung Gear 2, then the Apple Watch gen 2, now the Nokia Steel HR. So far this is the best looking of any smartwatch I've had. The only one that doesn't need to recharge more than once or thrice a week [this needs charging once a month]. I wanted a watch that would minimize clutter and hassle but still give me the essentials: notifications, smart alarm, comfort, heart rate, fitness tracking, etc. This isn't for the smartwatch user who actively uses their watch to manage their phone applications like pandora or to send texts directly through their smartwatch. This is for the more refined, for lack of a less pretentious term, smart watch consumer. -great battery that may only need to be recharged one a month (28day battery) -sleek design (actual mechanical gears turn real watch hands) -simple connectivity in low-power bluetooth -all day tracking, accurate sleep and Heart-rate monitoring -customize menu items (comparable to the Fitbit charge) -comfortable -relatively cheap retail price compared to other smartwatch options -water resistant (can be worn in the shower or when swimming) -simple design that results in sleek and stylish watch -not bulky or heavy cons -app could be refined a bit more, but it is similar to the app for Fitbit devices minus the social aspect -vibrate alerts don't offer differing levels/variations of vibration

Awesome looks and usability with long battery

I moved from Fitbit Surge to Nokia Steel HR and it was a great upgrade for me even with lesser features in Nokia Steel HR. The looks are very elegant/less bulky makes it very easy to wear it for days without feeling it, I have got lot of compliments on the look. It has all the necessary activity tracking functions and measures heart rate as well steps very accurately.. Fitbit overestimates activities and gives wrong reading giving one a wrong sense of security of having achieved the goal when in reality I was at least 15 to 20% short in steps and calories to what was reported on Fitbit surge..With Nokia Steel HR this was as accurate as it can get and gives a real picture that some users are complaining about because they see lower step and calorie count with Nokia Steel HR if compared by wearing both the trackers on same hand. ..But for me with regards to health matters, I prefer more accuracy and for sure over estimation of my activity is not what I want to see...Battery life just goes on and has been a month now and now I am around 10% battery reamining..this is incredible...Loving it so far...

All the features you need, none you don't!

First and foremost it should be said that battery life really is as good as advertised, if not even slightly better. Charged it fully almost two days ago, still at 95%. In addition to this I also own an Android Wear device with fancy GPS, phone/text/app integration, fitness tracking, etc etc... It's one of the smallest ones available at the time (mid-2017) and it feels absolutely giant and clunky by comparison. And it gets a day and change of battery life. And it will soon be listed on eBay. If you're texting or making phone calls on your smart watch because you aren't able to get to your phone in your purse or pocket, then you really should reevaluate the urgency of that text or phone call (and possibly some of your other life decisions that brought you to this current level of connectivity dependence...). If you're like me and want a low-maintenance, semi-smart watch that does a great job monitoring sleep, exercise, vitals, and just so happens to give you call/text/calendar notifications, buy a Steel HR.

      Very Impressed So Far

      • My Best Buy® Elite Plus MemberElite Plus Member

Please Note: I have only had this device for only a week, but thus far I am very impressed with the device. I totally LOVE the fact that the battery will last for approx a week. I have yet to charge this item since purchase, it had approx 60% upon purchase which I'm still using. I have had NO connection issues, which was a constant problem with my previous smart watch. It may not be the flashiest smart watch out there, but it does have sort of a retro feel to it. I have replaced my moto 360 with this, and have no regrets. Does it do everything that the moto 360 can do NO. But if you are only wanting minimum integration this may be the smart watch for you. I have always had connection issues with previous smart watches, it is refreshing not to have that issue with this. I have invested in the BP Cuff, Scale and this, totally impressed with the montoring software and website.

      Great Smartwatch Alternative

      • My Best Buy® Elite Plus MemberElite Plus Member

To preface, I had an Apple Watch for about a year and a half before it got to be too much for me (too many notifications, reminders to breathe/stand up, etc.). I was looking for something that was a bit more understated and less "noisy." The Nokia HR has been a fantastic choice so far! I love that it's a hybrid analog watch and activity tracker/smartwatch. I turned notifications off and check the app only when I want to see my sleeping metrics. By pushing on the crown of the watch, you are able to scroll through and see the time, heart rate, how many steps you've taken/mileage, distance, and calories burned. I really enjoy that you only see those metrics when you want to! So far, I am really impressed with the Nokia HR.

      Not bad

      • My Best Buy® MemberMember

I like this watch mainly because of the design. The watch design looks very nice compared to many other smart watches and fitness trackers in my opinion. It's waterproof and works great in the shower (although it's advised by Nokia not to press the side button when immersed in water). One reason I'm giving this four stars is because I wish there would be more customization on the screen as it's currently lacking. Battery life is great!

      Best Smartwatch Out There!

I used to own an Apple watch, but after it broke I decided to give the Nokia Steel HR a try, and it has changed the way I think about smartwatches forever! It is such a good looking watch! There is a bunch of tech inside of it, but at the same time I can actually wear it as just a good looking watch. The activity tracking is awesome too, with the dial in the front face really telling you everything you need to know. My favorite part is that the battery life is truly amazing, and the sleep tracking is pretty accurate and automatic.

      So far so good

      • My Best Buy® Elite Plus MemberElite Plus Member

I'm not sure why Best Buy won't let me rate this as a purchaser, probably because I exchanged something for it. It's too early for me to give a quality review with a lot of real world time, but comparing this to other watches I thought I'd write why I got it. The battery lasts a long time (two days in and still say 100). Also, it's a normal watch with a normal replaceable band. If you want to see the time, HR or anything you can, but by default the display isn't showing anything. Generally just right!
