      Junk

I have actually never reviewed a product before but felt, in good conscience, I had to review this one to warn others who might purchase this toaster, as I did, because of all the great reviews. (Go on Amazon and check out all the one star reviews there -- wish I had) We have had this toaster for about one year. It has been a headache and we are shopping for another toaster. Worked great at first but before long issues began to crop up. Here are some of the issues we have had with it: 1. Bread slices and english muffins will fall down into the bottom of the toaster (no, we are not toasting it on the bagel setting) and require quite a bit of effort to get out (we actually have had to work at it with a knife to cut it apart through the slots and then try to shake it out). 2. From almost the start, one side would stay stuck at the bottom and we had to manually lift it back up. Now it is permanently stuck on the bottom. 3. One side will not work and when we use the other side to toast, it now burns everything. I probably should have returned this when issues started appearing, but I was too optimistic that the issues would disappear (I mean, how could this be when this appliance has all these 5 star reviews??) Maybe we just got a lemon, but given the reviews on amazon... I don't think so. Buyer beware....

Why is buying a toaster so hard

      Posted

IT'S A TOASTER! HOW COULD YOU SCREW UP THE DESIGN OF A TOASTER? Bought this toaster 2 days ago. It's going back today. The toasting (burning) was uneven. On setting 3 1/2 the lower 2 thirds of the bread was black, the upper third saw still too dark. Why does the dial goes up to 7 If the bread is burned on 3 1/2? I imagine if I put it on 7 the bread would have been completely incinerated. The bread slots are wide but they are not ling enough for any bread other than square Wonder Bread. The Oroweat (or store brand equivalent) whole grain bread I buy is too long to fit in the slots by about a 1/2" Also, I agree with the reviewer that complained about the cord. It comes from the front of the unit thus the cord is essentially shortened by 8" because it needs to be fed back under the unit. The crumb tray is also totally useless. It is less than 1/4" deep. The box says "Toast just the way you like it - Perfect every time" NOT EVEN CLOSE! I'm probably being to rough. They must still be working out the kinks in these new fangled things. I mean the toaster has only been around since 1919.

      Don't buy this

Purchased at my local Best Buy store...it was the only brand of toaster they carried. Didn't feel like searching around in a lot of stores for other brands because it is not that costly and I did not feel like wasting my time and gas. I have had Oster products in the past and they did their job...I thought, "What the heck?" Well, it is a nice looking item...BUT... at very low setting, one side of the toast was light....and the sides toward the center were scorched. I thought, perhaps, it was me...so I went through it again and same thing. After a few tries, I called Oster. Very nice people. They sent me a new toaster....and guess what....it does the same thing. Have not called them again....has to be a design flaw. Now I have 2 new toasters...neither of which function properly.....so.....it is too late to return to Best Buy and I just might try contacting Oster again....but I am not sure that there is a point to that....so my $24.99 went up in smoke.....(plus sales tax).

      Good toaster for the price

I read the other reviews about this toaster and had doubts but went ahead and purchased it since it was a good sale price. The outer plastic case looked kinda dull and scratched so went in to the store but turned out that all the models had the same type of plastic used. I did waste some slices of bread trying to figure out the heat settings on the toaster but no biggie on that. I wouldn't turn it up all the way on my first slice of toast as it burn it and stink up the place. Over all a nice value for the money and have been using it for the past month or so without any issues. Toasts bagels and bread just fine as long as you remember not to put it on too high. I haven't tried the defrost setting since I didn't need it.

I've owned lots of toasters. There was always something they never quite did well . . . . either didn't brown enough, or burnt the bread and you couldn't get the settings in between, bread got stuck because the holders didn't work, not enough room for bagels, only one side heated up, or they'd just stop working altogether. Not so with this one! Everything works and works well. Ample room for bagels, heats evenly, settings are perfect and easy to adjust. Never thought I could love a toaster, but I love this one.

So far so good. I had an Oster toaster that was many years old and was not toasting as well when it was new. Decided to go with this one for 4 reasons. First, it was number three on a list of best toasters. Second, unlike the first on the list at $99, this toaster was under $20. Third, it is black and grey/silver, which matches the other appliances in the kitchen. My only criticism is the retired toaster had metal sides and this new one is made of plastic (like most everything else in the world these days). Not a problem so long as the casing holds up as long as the heating elements.

Garbage toaster. It breaks right away.

This is a cheaply constructed Chinese piece of junk. The inner moving parts are the thinnest cheapest metal that quickly break apart or get stuck so the toast cannot be elevated out of the toaster. The heating wires will also heat unevenly. Stop buying Chinese products that you will have to buy again and again. Best Buy should not be selling this toaster, and they will not give you your money back after two weeks. Mine broke in four weeks, and the store refused to refund my money and wanted me to deal with the manufacturer. Oh really? I will buy everything from Amazon from now on.

What can I say about a 20 dollar toaster. I wasnt expecting much for the price like the high end toasters with more features. Just toast bread and bagels and be somewhat durable. What I did not expect was it to break on the second day after using it maybe two or three times. The ejection system is flimsy. Think a thin wirey piece of metal that just bends vs any weight. It still cooks toast and gets it hot but I have to literally pull the bread out with my fingers. Since the slots are narrow and the toaster is hot that is a not so easy task. It's a cheap toaster but not even worth twenty dollars as it had no durability whatsoever. Avoid
