room filling sound in a compact device
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pleasantly surprised at this small system. I was worried that this system would lack a decent sound quality. Thankfully I was wrong! This system will not replace a true sound setup or even an expensive Bluetooth speaker. However, if you need a system for an office, bedroom, or even just to play CD's once in a while don't look over this Panasonic unit. The system is very compact and takes up little space. We have a small RV and the built in radio is absolutely garbage, this Panasonic system will be taking over its place. The system is very easy to setup and get working. It does have a sleep timer, an auto on and off setting which you can select which source to use when it turns on. The included remote, which is very small, has all the same functions as the front of the radio. So you can control all aspects of the system through the remote control. The remote also has individual buttons for each source, this makes it very easy to select what you want to play instead of having to scroll through a list. There are some adjustments to the sound settings. This system has five preset equalizer settings, I only liked one of them, the other four did not fit my needs. It does have individual adjustments for both bass and treble. There are some other options such as D Bass (I think its dynamic bass) and surround sound on or off. I found that the having the D. Bass off the system sounds okay but I find that having it on makes the speakers sound way better. I would normally leave the surround sound setting off, but it actually sounds pretty good with it on while listening to music. I tried all the different sources and they all performed perfectly. The included antenna I was able to pick up radio stations in am/fm no problem. Connecting my phone or laptop to the Bluetooth was simple. Using the CD player was easy and produced very good sound. Lastly was the USB port and I usually find these to be a struggle to get music to work. I stuck a USB stick into the usb port, clicked the media selector to USB and it started to play music. At first the display just showed USB and the song timer, if you click display on the remote it will let you cycle through different displays some showing the album, song, or track. I'm not sure I would want to hook up a USB drive with tons of music as finding certain songs or albums to play might be too cumbersome. I was disappointed that there is no RCA jacks on the back to connect to an external device or even a line in aux jack. It would have been a nice option to have one of these instead of relying on just Bluetooth. Lastly, how does this system actually perform? I thought a 20-watt system would be a little underwhelming since it is a small unit, I thought for sure it wouldn't be great. Thankfully I was 100% wrong, this system sounds really nice even at max volume. It will fill a decent size room with loud clear music. I listen to a lot of different music types, and I found most to sound very nice especially classic rock. If you like a lot of deep bass in your music, this system will probably disappoint you. I'm used to system that you can actually feel the bass, that's why I feel like this one lacks that, but it's a compact system so its expected. Overall, I do like this system and if I wasn't putting this in my RV, I would use it in my bedroom or office. The system is all done in black and looks clean and nice with a faux wood grain pattern on the speakers. This system would look nice in any setting. The speaker grills do not come off, and the speakers themself are made of compressed wood. The system is also very light and could be moved around by anyone of any age.

A Good Small Stereo
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been testing this Panasonic Stereo system for the last week and I have spent enough time using it to provide a full opinion. Stereo Unit- the main unit is small, light weight and easy to use. The quaility of materials seems to be ok but not very durable and most likely wouldn’t survive any type of fall. This is to be used as a stationary device so there should be no concern for breaking. The device does look of high quality visually. The system is quick to turn on and connect to your source of media. Particularly the Bluetooth connects very fast. The unit also has a CD tray that works as it should and loads discs promptly. You can also control features on the stereo like bass and treble. Note that the included remote can control more audio features than what’s on the unit. Connectivity- the stereo unit will connect to most devices that people regularly use. The biggest thing I would say is that the unit has a CD player as well as a Bluetooth receiver built-in. As I stated in the paragraph above, the Bluetooth is relatively quick and after I established it with my phone as soon as I turn on the unit after leaving it on Bluetooth from the previous use, it connected to my phone in the matter of less than two seconds. This also has a USB port and is equipped with FM and AM radio. There is no other ports available other than for the speakers to connect. Speakers - The two included speakers are on the smaller side but produce decent enough audio quality. They are made of particle board material and are light. Similar to the stereo unit they don’t seem to have much durability but yet again this is not something that you will typically move around. I also discovered that you cannot remove the front speaker grills so I could not technically see or measure the sizes within the cabinet. I held up the flashlight to see what it would shine against the fabric of the speaker grill and I could see a small tweeter up top and a smaller speaker on the bottom. I would say overall, it produces an average sound. It doesn’t sound like an expensive speaker, but it also doesn’t sound like a cheap speaker either. 20 watt system is excellent for a small audio required room. In summary, I believe this is a great stereo system if you’re looking for something a little bit more than just a regular wireless speaker and to have a few options for connectivity. I plan to use this on a basis when people come over.

Great shelf system stereo
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My oldest daughter is big into K-POP so she has a few dozen albums and CD's of the bands she enjoys listening to so needed to get her a system to listen to these in her room so this was a great choice. The system is small and compact but packs some serious punch for such a small system. Setup was very simple and straightforward that she was able to easily get it out and setup on her own without any help from me. The speakers are larger than her Alexa device but small enough to easily fit on her desk without taking up much space. The main unit she has placed on the side of her desk and the included speaker wires were plenty long enough to reach to her desk but not much further than how she has it setup. Pros - Small and compact - Clean audio with surprisingly throaty bass - Plays CD's as well as has BT for her to connect her phone and stream audio as well - Also has a built in radio tuner to pickup local radio stations Cons - Not as loud as some other compact sound systems - Very minimalistic look, not really fancy looking - Speaker wires are flimsy and could be too short to move speakers must further apart Overall for the size of this shelf system and the price it is a great option for a bedroom. It won't fill a larger room with sound but is a great option for a bedroom or smaller office. Stylish clean look and clear audio make this a nice compact shelf system.

Q: QuestionAre the speakers detachable? I am getting different answers. I would like to place the unit in a cabinet and have to run the speaker wires through a hole in the back and reconnect them so the speakers will sit on the shelf. Thank you.
Asked by Nefintucson.
- A:Answer Hello and thank you for your question! The speakers are detachable, they are separate from the main unit and are connected to it via cables. Please do not install or place this unit in a bookcase, built-in cabinet or in another confined space. Make sure this unit is well ventilated. - S

Q: QuestionWe need to replace our stereo that has in ceiling speakers in several room. can I detach the speakers from this unit and attach the wires for the existing ceiling speakers to it?
Asked by barberchick.
- A:Answer The answer provided by the Panasonic team is false. The speakers are separate from the radio unit and their wires are attached to compression terminals. So, yes, you can detach the included speakers and replace them with what you want. Caveat: the impedance of the included speakers isn't specified, and I would recommend that you use 8-Ohm speakers unless you determine the amplifier is capable of driving 4-Ohm loads.
