Best 3rd Party Gamecube Controller
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this controller today and had a few hours to test in in Smash Ultimate among other games. Let me tell you, for $25, this is the best controller I've owned. It is slightly larger than the official Nintendo GC controller, but it isn't too big to feel uncomfortable. It has a nice soft touch like plastic on the front that makes it nice to hold and the removable C stick to replace with a regular thumbstick is a great feature. The ZL and ZR buttons are the best feeling buttons I've ever used. It has a soft responsive feel like that of the official pro controller, but they are much larger and more comfortable to rest your fingers on. They have a perfect travel distance for digital buttons. The face buttons are a little clickier and have a little more travel than the official GC controller, but unless you have one right next to it, then you won't even notice a difference. The cable is also really long, I think around 8 or 10 ft, and it has a really nice and sturdy feeling USB connector with a bump so you know which side is facing up. This controller functions just like the pro controller but in a GameCube controller shell. It has all of the extra buttons +, -, Home, and Capture, as well as a second shoulder button. It also has clickable thumb sticks. Oh, and I can't forget about the tiny D-pad. It's super small, which I wish were the same size as the Power A D-pad is, but in terms of feel, I much prefer this one. It's not as soft and squishy as the Power A, and doesn't have too much travel. This controller is also usable on PC, just to put that out there for anyone wondering. I haven't tried it out on my Dolphin Emulator, but I plan to do that in the future. The lack of analog function in the triggers is easily made up with the extra buttons, like the second shoulder button. That makes it possible to map the controller in a way that lets Mario run and spray water at the same time in Super Mario Sunshine. My only gripe with this controller is that it feels hollow because of how thin the plastic shell is. It's by no means feather light, and it's super sturdy, but it just doesn't have a great heft to it like I like in a controller. It doesn't feel like the original in the hand, but it makes so many improvements in the original design that a lot of 3rd party manufacturers are failing to do. There are plenty of things wrong with the original controller and PDP did a good job making it better than before.

Great for Playing Super Smash
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a fair amount of research on each Gamecube styled controller before landing on this one. This one is wired, could be a plus or minus depending on your preference...less input lag was key for me. It will is very well made for the price point. I like how you can switch out the classic yellow-c stick for a more modern joystick...game changer. There is something about the Gamecube layout that is just right for playing Super Smash Bros. I would definitely recommend this controller if you want a much easier time playing and even more so if you want to be competitive. Another major advantage to this controller compared to the original Gamecube controller is that it will work across all other games (don't quote me but I believe that's the case)...plus, it has the +/- buttons, as well as the Home button which is a lot more convenient than having to walk to your system or using another controller to navigate through menus/turn off the system.

Smash & Mario Kart, Great Quality!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'I used this controller for playing SSBU and Mario Kart deluxe on the switch. This controller works very well with both games! I haven't experienced any stick drifting, and all inputs are responsive. The triggers don't feel springy like the OEM Gamecube controller, they are more of a button feel. However, it's really comfortable and I prefer it much more. The c stick is interchangeable with the regular sized analog stick, or the default c stick style, which is a nice touch.

Good GameCube-like controller
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not quite a GameCube controller. It's close enough for most players, unless you are a hardcore melee player. I've used it a decent amount to play Smash Ultimate and it's a nice upgrade from a 15 year old GameCube controller that has seen better days. I have also used it to play games like Chrono Trigger on PC and it works great. The one downside to it would be the shoulder buttons. They stick out a little far on the sides and are easy to press on accident if you are used to the original GameCube controller.

Has a problem with actually gamescube controllers
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s good doesn’t seem like the other third party controllers in quality. The design is alright but I got for the GameCube layout buttons. There’s only one problem. Whenever a GameCube controller is plug in for smash bro’s ultimate I seem to do aerials. When I don’t want to which messes up my game. So I would say get this if you have a friend who doesn’t use GameCube controllers.

Fantastic controller!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works great! It's fairly cheap. The cable is really long. It has a nice matte finish. It's a tad bit bulky, but it isn't really noticeable, even if you've got smaller hands. I've been able to play all my Switch games with it (it inputs just like a Pro controller) and I haven't touched the JoyCons since buying it.

Perfect Game Controller
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got my controller to play fortnite so I wouldnt run down the buttons on my switch lite since I wouldn’t be able to switch the joycon. Really great overall had to make some adjustments in the game setting to fit the play buttons on the controller but that’s an easy fix. Also needs an adapter for switch lite a-c USB

Q: QuestionDoes this controller have any issues like any buttons not working, or if the circle pad drifts? The switch joy cons have way too many problems, and it's almost impossible to play smash bros with them especially with my huge hands.
Asked by Johnson.
- A:Answer Thank you for your question Johnson. We don't see a lot of calibration or button issues with these controllers, but if you do have issues, our products come with a two year manufacturer's warranty if you hold on to your receipt. -PDP Customer Experience

Q: QuestionHow long is the wire? I'd like to be able to use this controller while having a decent distance from the TV. And also, my hands are very big, so would I be able to comfortably grasp this controller, or is it not big enough?
Asked by Johnson.
- A:Answer Thank you for your question, Johnson. The cord is 10 feet long. The controller is approximately the size of the original GameCube controller, if that helps you make your decision. -PDP Customer Experience

Q: QuestionDoes this controller work with the actual handheld switch, or does it have to plug into the switch charging dock? Thanks
Asked by Lisa.
- A:Answer Thank you for your question, Lisa. This controller was meant to plug into the Switch charging dock. It might be possible to connect it to the handheld switch with an adapter, but we haven't been able to verify if that works as intended. -PDP Customer Experience

Q: QuestionSo in the pictures there isn’t one of the actual cord or plug itself. i’m wondering if this will work with a wii or wii u? or is it just switch.
Asked by Patrick.
This question was asked about the related product: PDP - Wired Fight Pad Pro Controller Mario Edition for Nintendo Switch - Red
- A:Answer This will only work for Switch. It uses a USB plug, and the USB ports on the Wii and WiiU can only be used for external storage and Ethernet adapters.

Q: QuestionDoes this controller pair as a wired pad pro or just as a pro controller? How do you pair it as the wired pad pro so that the buttons align?
Asked by Smith.
- A:Answer This is a USB wired pro controller. The Triggers are already in the correct orientation. PDP included a... trick I guess you could call it, that will switch the top buttons logically (not physically). They did this in case the triggers were backward and needed to be reversed. Since it's unnecessary I won't post how to do it because it's a permanent change and I don't recommend it.
