A: This machine can make just foamed milk actually! You simply choose pre-ground coffee and press the latte button. The machine will think it's tamping pre-ground coffee you dropped into the shoot then it will proceed to steam and foam your milk. Simply hit the stop button after the machine steamed and foamed your milk. This method doesn't waste any coffee. The higher models have a foamed milk option in the other drink menu.
Q: Will it froth only the milk without brewing?
A: Kind of. You can select to use the pre-ground coffee and so it doesn't waste coffee and then stop it after the milk is froth.
Q: When you press the Latte Macchiato button, does it dispense 1 or 2 shots of espresso?
A: Latte/Machiatto does one shot AFTER the milk, so I start with a shot of espresso, then make the latte - so its a double shot, but this way the frothed milk is better combined. You can just set it to a lesser grind/dose if concerned.
