A Prestigious Toothbrush!!!
|Posted .Brushing your teeth doesn’t get any better than this. The Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige puts a new twist on daily routine by providing you exceptional cleaning with a very premium feel. From its premium all-in-one brush head to its faux leather covered travel case/charging case, this is truly a prestigious toothbrush. I have been using an electric toothbrush for a long time now and honestly most of them done a great job at cleaning my teeth but the Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige takes the win. Let’s go over some of the features, Pro’s and Con’s of this toothbrush and ill also explain why I fell in love with this toothbrush. -Initial Setup So, in the box you will receive 1 Handle, 1 Charging Travel Case, 1 Brush Head, 1 Charging Base, and a charging cable. To setup this toothbrush you will need to download the Philips Sonicare App, which will guide in the setup process. You will need to setup an account and connect the toothbrush to your phone to take full advantage of what this toothbrush has to offer. Now you can use this toothbrush as is, without connecting it to the app, but to experience the exceptional clean and to take full advantage of this toothbrush, I would highly recommend that you download the app and follow thru. Once you setup your brush you are good to go, so start brushing. -Philips Sonicare App The Sonicare App is a great tool for helping you achieve a cleaner and healthier mouth. The app provides you with pressure tips, and let you know if you are apply to much pressure and movement, Angle tips, using the correct angle to clean your teeth and your gums, Brush head monitoring, letting you know when its time to change your brush head. The app also allows you to control the vibration intensity of the brush head. The toothbrush offers you Low, Medium and High modes. The brush also offers an adaptive intensity which basically learns from how you brush your teeth and provides you with the best intensity mode. The toothbrush offers different cleaning modes, and the app allows you to choose between Clean Mode (2 Min Duration), White+ (2 Min 40 Sec), Gum Health (3 Min 20 Sec), Deep Clean (3 Min) and Sensitive (2 Min) with lower intensity. So, the reason I fell in love with this tooth brush is because of how easy is it to change modes and intensities. I have tried other electric tooth brushes as well and none have been so simple to use. The best feature of the Sonicare app and the Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige toothbrush is the actual usage. The application guides you through the whole brushing process, helping you clean all your teeth, the gums and even how much pressure to apply. As you use your brush on a daily basis, it pretty much adapts to you and how you clean and how much pressure and what level intensity to apply. -Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige The toothbrush itself has a solid build quality and everything about the toothbrush has a premium feel to it. The Travel charging case has faux leather covering and even the regular charging base has a cool design. The toothbrush itself is very sleek and compact, you can take this brush with you anywhere you go. Pros: Multiple Levels of vibrating intensity Different cleaning modes Guided Cleaning Portable Design Very nice carrying case Premium Brush head Cons: The only thing I was not a big fan of on this toothbrush was that they only provide one brush head. I have used other electric toothbrushes and they all provide you with multiple heads. For the price I do believe that they should Include more than one. Overall, the Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige is an amazing electric toothbrush that will truly change your toothbrushing experience. Over the years I have used multiple Philips Sonicare brushes and this one so far is the best and I would highly recommend anyone in the market to give this one a shot. You will not be disappointed.

Sonicare Meets Smart Phone Technology
|Posted .I’ve been a Philips Sonicare user for more years than I can remember. This is the toothbrush system my dentist recommends. Before Sonicare, my dental checkups used to be tortuous because I have a lot of plaque buildup. Since I switched to Sonicare, my hygienist never has to scrape my teeth like when I only used a manual toothbrush. Having just gotten this newest Sonicare 9900 Prestige, Rechargeable Toothbrush with SenseIQ, I have to say it’s an amazing system. Do you really need an app monitored toothbrush? Probably not. But if you want the best dental cleaning experience plus having your teeth brushing monitored, the Sonicare 9900 does it and more. With the 9900, Philips suggests this toothbrush will remove up to 20 times more plaque and your gums will be 15 times healthier in a few short weeks. That alone is worth investing in a good Sonicare toothbrushing system. To get started, simply download the Philips Sonicare App from the App Store on either iPhone or Android and turn the toothbrush on. The app will recognize the toothbrush and connect your toothbrush via Bluetooth. Once you are connected, you can choose the order of the six pre-timed spacer zones (which buzz and alert you when it’s time to move the toothbrush to a different zone in your mouth). You can also program the toothbrush for zones which may need special attention like gum health. If you don’t own a smart phone and can’t use the app, you can change settings directly on the toothbrush by holding the power button for several seconds. But then if you don’t own a smart phone, you likely don’t need to buy a toothbrush which benefits from using a smart phone app. It’s already preprogrammed at the highest intensity brushing for 2 minutes. But through the app, you can adjust the settings to White+, Gum Health, Deep Clean, Sensitive and it even can alert you if you are using too much pressure by lighting up the bottom of the toothbrush handle. Finally, the app can even send an update to the toothbrush handle. Mine came with the latest software version. My, how things in toothbrush technology have changed! The toothbrush head on the Sonicare 9900 Prestige uses a Premium All-in One brush head with BrushSync Technology. It has a special symbol on the head and A3 to let you know it’s the right brush head for this system. BrushSync means, the toothbrush head communicates with handle using a microchip, it monitors brushing as well as when it’s time to replace the brush head. Since this is such a new system, replacement heads will need to be ordered directly from Philips. Maybe in the future there will be other buying options. For traveling, the system comes with a very-nice compact travel case with a USB connector (standard USB A to USB C), covered in a stylish “vegan” friendly leather. You simply put the toothbrush in the travel case and plug the USB cable into the end of the case and the supplied charging brick to charge the toothbrush. This makes it simpler than having to carry the charging base the toothbrush sits in on with you. While the travel case is compact, it would have been nice if it was slightly larger and included a place to store the USB cable and charging brick. Comparing this newest Sonicare to my previous Sonicare, it has the same solid feel in hand, yet its sleeker. It is a bit louder at the highest intensity. I do think my teeth feel cleaner though, so I’ll take louder for cleaner teeth. My previous Sonicare had what was called Quad-Spacer, which divided your mouth into 4 zones. This newer design has 6 zones (side/front/side top and bottom). I’m not sure why I need 6 zones as opposed to 4, but I’m adjusting. If you have never experienced a Sonicare Toothbrush, you don’t know what you’re missing. I’ve entrusted Sonicare to care for my teeth for years and I know my teeth are cleaner, my gums are healthier, and my dental bills reduced. I’d like to keep all of my teeth as long as possible, so while not inexpensive, this system is well worth the price of admission if you want the absolute best there is. Do you have to spend this much for an electric toothbrush? No, of course not. If your budget doesn’t permit this highest end Sonicare, their other systems are excellent as well. And with years of using their toothbrushes, I simply cannot recommend them enough!

Good brush with feedback on your brushing
|Posted .This is my second electric toothbrush and this one comes with a lot more features that help make sure you are doing a good job cleaning your teeth. This one is much more expensive than the previous one and that is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. You start by downloading the app (I have the iOS version), so will talk to that version of the app. After downloading the app, you are prompted to create a new account or login with existing credentials. That's it, you're ready to go. You select how long you want to brush on the app (standard being 2 minutes) and hit the start button on the brush. The app shows where to brush and the brush vibrates when you need to move to a different area of mouth. The brush will alert you if you are using too much force and the app will tell you if you are missing any areas or where you need to do a better job. The brush head is much harder than what I am used to...I normally use a soft brush head, but this one is very firm. I got used to it very quickly, but something to consider if you normally press firmly, you will need to change to a light grip. One thing I noticed is the app takes a few seconds to show that you are actually brushing, so the first section is halfway done before it realizes that you are already brushing, so I always get a notification that I am not brushing long enough for that area of the mouth. As you move to the next section of the mouth, the virtual teeth whiten as you brush that area and at the end, it gives you a summary of any concern areas (section of teeth not brushed enough, pressing too hard, etc.). Overall, I like the brush, but I can see how I wouldn't use the app over time. Holding the phone up so you aren't drooling all over the place when looking at the phone will get old quickly. For now, it is still interesting to see if I am covering all areas of the mouth. I would highly recommend the brush if it wasn't this expensive, but it does provide input on ways to improve your dental hygiene that a regular toothbrush doesn't do...so, as it is, I still recommend it.

It works great, higher end of the family.
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This is my second Philips Sonicare tothbrush, the first one lasted about 4 years and one day decided to give up. I got this one since it is smart too, it can connect to the smart phone and can customize it much more. And it is not necessary to connect to the phone for it to work by the way. It cleans my teeth as well as my gums very well. It only comes with one brush, I was hoping it came with two, It looks elegant and works great, I've had it for over a month and I am enjoying it. I like the stand, I rather have the cup that came with the previous one I had. Overall I really like it and would buy again.

Must purchase!
||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Obsessed! If you are really into having clean and healthy teeth -- this is the one for you. + I love how the app shows you exactly where you should be brushing more and for how long. The only con is that you need to have your phone with you every time you brush your teeth if you would like for it to register.

Amazing Philips Sonicare Upgrade!
|Posted .Both my wife and I have been Philips Sonicare users for many years. Our current model is probably 6+ years old so it was time for a new one. Wow, have things changed. While yes, this model is much more expensive, the features are very advanced and if you really care about full mouth care, this is the device for you. First of all this is a smart device and connects to an app that you install on your phone. It allows you to monitor the intensity as well as the scrubbing. You can also set modes: Clean, White+, Gum Health, Deep Clean and Sensitive. Each of these modes is customized to the name they possess. For example, sensitive has lower power vibration which is easier on teeth and gums while white+ and Deep Clean add extra time to the cleaning time. You can notice the difference in vibration and time for each of these. The app also tells you how to brush and which teeth ( top to bottom) on how to brush. This allows the app to completely monitor how you brush across the pattern of your teeth from top to bottom. It will even show you which areas you need to focus on which is really cool. A couple of the things that this brush does that addresses concerns my dentist has is scrubbing and pressure. It can actually sense each of these. You enable them in the app. They then will flash amber at the base of the handle when you are scrubbing vs. letting the brush do the work. It will also flash purple if you are pushing too hard and applying too much pressure. This allows you to get immediate feedback and correct the brushing as you go. This is very helpful and I am sure my dentist will be very happy! I have a few pics in for this review. The handle ones showing the color are a bit blurry but you will get the point. Again, as you see them while brushing, the goal is to stop that so that you get a consistent brushing every time. This is an amazing unit, it will tell you when your brush head is wearing and needs replacing. It has a really nice travel case too which is great because we never usually travel with ours but that will change now! I would highly recommend this, especially if you are a current automatic toothbrush user. It is an amazing upgrade!

Posted .Hello Hoya, we are sorry to hear that your new brush head losers its bristles. We recommend avoiding toothpaste with any essential oils directly on the brush head, because they can damage your brush heads and result in bristles falling out.

Q: QuestionDoes the Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige toothbrush with the iOS app work to track toothbrushing in the Apple Health app using HealthKit? I'm interested in the toothbrush, but without it tracking my health data to Apple Health, I'm less interested.
Asked by CRMFYI.
- A:Answer Hello! The Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige toothbrush data cannot be linked to Apple HealthKit.

Q: QuestionGreetings, I would like to know if the SenseiQ technology is only activated with Prestige compatible toothbrush heads? Or does it work as well with other brush heads (like the Sensitive Standard sonic toothbrush head for example?). Thx for any info.
Asked by FullMetalEdwardo.
- A:Answer Hello, okay, thx for your feedack. Quick question tho: how comes you/Philips dont propose BrushSync on Sensitive BrushHeads? That would come in handy and I'm sure many customers would buy this.

Q: QuestionIs this brush water resistant enough to use in the shower?
Asked by Typhoeuszombie.
- A:Answer Hello! It is completely safe to use your Philips Sonicare Toothbrush in the shower. Make sure to never store your Philips Sonicare Toothbrush in the shower between brushings. Allow the toothbrush to air-dry between uses. Also, do not place the charger where it might risk contact with water.

Q: QuestionDoes this toothbrush handle have problem with loose shaft? I purchased 2 similar handles and within weeks the shaft became extremely loose! Philips replaced 3 times and all of them broke in less than 6 months! I’m afraid this one will break too
Asked by Cutie.
- A:Answer Hello! The warranty of the Philips Sonicare Toothbrush is good for 2 years, but our products can last longer. Product lifetime varies from consumer to consumer based on care, frequency of use, and maintenance of the device.

Q: QuestionDoes this toothbrush work well with braces?
Asked by Braces.
- A:Answer The literature says it does.
Answered by Carlos
Q: QuestionHow long does the head work? Are there any replaceable heads available? How long is the life of brush and one head?
Asked by Devna52.
- A:Answer It's been over a month so I hope you found your answer. If you did then this might help others. The brush head is (on the app) rated for 180 sessions or roughly 3 months if you brush twice daily. It lets you know when you are due for a new brush head as you get closer to the end of its life. Philips sells a 2 pack A3 brush head for $30. The only maintenance on this toothbrush is the head itself. The brush should last you a long time.

Q: QuestionThe specs say it isn’t app compatible but all of the comments and other info as well as the video on here seems to indicate that it is. Is it or is it using something that isn’t considered an app (but sure looks like one)?
Asked by KaeL.
- A:Answer It is 100% an app and the app is the only way to make changes to type of brushing session or intensity
