Ok smoker for the price, build quality needs work
This smoker is a nice option if you're cooking for one or two people like myself. It cooks well and is simple to use. The build quality overall is just not the best, however. The complaints that I have are in regards to the small plastic piece that acts as the door handle to the pellet box as well as the clips that are meant to lock the lid of the smoker closed. They are both very cheaply produced and poorly fitted for their intended purposes. The door "handle" for the pellet box is only held in place by a small spring that doesnt really lock it into place or lock the pellet box closed at all. It may as well not be there and a simple indent for your finger to open the pellet box would have been better in my opinion. The clips for the smoker lid are also poorly fitted and do nothing as far as providing any kind of seal to the lid compared to just having the lid closed without them engaged. You can also see they show two different kinds of clips in this area on BestBuy's photos of this product. One photo shows much higher quality looking clips that says "Pit Boss" and the other photo shows the cheaper, smaller silver clips that are what actually come on this smoker. In my opinion these also may as well have been excluded completely as they dont do their intended job. I would also guess that if they were meant to be used for when you're transporting the smoker that they would easily disengage on their own as they are somewhat misalignedand loose when engaged. These two things don't affect the smoking functionality of this product, which is as expected hence my 3 star rating and not 2 star. However it makes me concerned about the quality of the parts that I cannot see and about how long this smoker will last...
