A: One is 5.1 while the other is a 7.1. I have both & the 5.1 is better if in a smaller room but for living room or bigger space as seems like you may have the 7.1 would be better. The 7.1 also has a nicer looking glossy top & the remote has a few more sound modes to choose from directly without going inti the menu but I found them obsolete as the main sound mode is best in my preference. I would also go for the nicer sub if in your budget & the rear speakers as they provide even more depth but all in all they are both great. I would mainly choose by the size of room going in.
A: Yes you can connect a wired soundbar, I just connected my Klipsch 12 inch subwoofer. If the soundbar is on the left side of the soundbar after the HDMI inputs, You will see what appears to be an infrared and then right under that infrared there appears to be a panel but it is more of a plastic piece glued on, Just insert a thin object like the tip of a knife, and slide it underneath till you can pull it with your finger and you will be able to peel back that plastic taped panel. There you will see 3 inputs, one will say SW for Subwoofer just put in your 3.5mm jack into there and the RCA Jacks into your Subwoofer, Restart your Sound bar if is not picked up immediately and Viola you have a better base than that Expensive overpriced Sony wireless Sub at almost seven hundred dollars that only has a Low, Medium and High Option for bass Which is terrible for a Subwoofer to have.
Q: Is the HDMI input 2.1? Will my PS5 work at 120? or do I need the 7000?
A: Hi MeowWoof, Thanks for your inquiry. The HTA5000 supports HDMI 2.1 specifications with the exception of VRR and ALLM. It can pass through visual and audio content up to 4K120p / 8K. There are 2 specific features (Variable Refresh Rate and Auto-Low Latency Mode) that comes with HDMI 2.1. currently not available on Sony soundbars. You can't go wrong with the HT-A5000 soundbar. The HT-A5000 has 5.1.2 channels and X-Balanced speaker units minimize distortion while the up-firing speakers and beam tweeters fill the room to give an ultra-immersive listening experience. Built-in subwoofers provide an additional boost to low end frequencies. Vertical Surround Engine and S-Force Pro Front Surround creates immersive sound from all around, while Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X® lend a more realistic, multi-dimensional sound to your content. If you want to expand your audio system, please take a look at our optional subwoofer and rears accessories (SA-SW5,SA-SW3,SA-RS3S). Regards, -Ralph
Q: Does Sony make a mounting bracket for this sound bar?
A: They are included
A: Hi Frustrated, We understand your need to use your cable box remote to control the soundbar. Most of the cable company remotes don’t control audio products only TVs. You can use the Sony remote to control the cable box and as long as soundbar is connected through HDMI 3 eARC, the TV will control audio output on soundbar. -Ralph
A: You need to have it stick out from under the tv. The upfireing speakers need clear air to bounce the sound off of your ceiling. Otherwise your missing a critical reason for buying this exact sound bar.
A: Hi Nicolaas, Thank you for your inquiry. When a sound bar is connected, center audio is output from both the TV and sound bar, allowing you to enjoy both impactful sound from the sound bar and natural conversations. You can output the center part of the speaker system sound from the TV by connecting the TV with the following method. 1. Connect the speaker system and TV with the HDMI cable (supplied). 2. Connect the S-CENTER SPEAKER IN jack on the TV and the S-CENTER OUT jack on the speaker system with the TV center speaker mode cable (supplied). Note: Even when connecting a sound bar with an S-CENTER OUT terminal, it must be connected to the TV with an HDMI cable like a normal sound bar. Regards, Jess
A: Not at all. The soundbar's mounting holes are too far apart for the rocketfish mounting hardware to reach. Total incompatibility

This is an amazing soundbar and works even better than I hoped it would. I purchased this in hopes of replacing our receiver with all the surround speakers and wires that go along with that and so glad I did. That type of set up has it's place in this world but not fur us anymore. I did look at many brands and models of soundbars and cheap stuff ain't cool and cool stuff ain't cheap. If you're reading this you're probably in the market for a soundbar and I recommend you do the research and find the best application for your space. The initial hit to the pocketbook may be difficult for folks but you'll be better off in the long run. if you do your homework and spend wisely. I really appreciated the ease of the set up, how well it works with our Sony Bravia tv and that I received an amazing deal on an open box buy. Couldn't be happier with the decision to purchase this unit!

We matched the HT-A5000 with our Sony Bravia 75 inch tv. The sound quality was excellent. Wireless pairing with the subwoofer had to be done manually but was otherwise easy. Bluetooth pairing with our phones was simple, as was setting up the internet connection and music services. Would strongly recommend buying the 4 year warranty. I didn’t and the original soundbar locked up and couldn’t be reset. My fault. Paying another $700 for a new soundbar feels like getting hit low in a boxing match. We wall mounted the soundbar below the tv. The template provided made the process easy and the end result looked sleek and professional. As I said, at just over a year the original soundbar would turn on, display “hello” on the front but would not connect with the tv. I could not reset it with the remote, nor with the onboard buttons. I’m restating this because our area often has power outages, so along with the 4 year warranty, I recommend using some sort of surge protector. All in all, I’ve loved the sound system. Now that I’ve learned some valuable lessons, I hope my personal experience is even more positive.
I love this sound bar! It's long...about 4ft. Its the same length as my 55-inch Sony TV. It takes a little time to set up the pairing, but it's not difficult. I almost purchased a slightly less expensive one, also a Sony, but I'm so glad that I didn't! The sound is so rich, and the range is great. You cannot beat the true Dolby Atmos sound. The sound also really tracks the action on the TV well. Action sequences and vehicle chases sound awesome. Cars or aircraft appear to really move left to right, ect. The upfiring speakers set this bar apart from others, and the way that the bar adjusts itself to the room it's in is some pretty cool tech. It will pair wirelessly with a subwoofer and rear speakers as well, but sounds excellent on its own. Since the Sony TV also pairs with the soundbar, both turn on and off from the TV remote, or my Cable remote. So that's handy. Although I have both TV and soundbar on a TV stand, wall mounting brackets, specific to this bar, were included. So you have options. I have been going back and re-watching all of my favorite movies to hear them through this amazing soundbar. I am very pleased, and I'd recommend this model to anybody looking for quality sound.
