    Synopsis

    Queen of the Damned
The second and third novels in author Anne Rice's popular book series The Vampire Chronicles provide the inspiration for this horror sequel starring ill-fated actress and recording artist Aaliyah, who was killed in an airplane crash before the film's release. Stuart Townsend is the vampire Lestat, who has awakened from a century-long slumber and turned his considerable energy to rock music. His vampirism identity mistaken for a gothic hard rock publicity stunt along the lines of Kiss or Marilyn Manson, he quickly becomes a pop music sensation. Lestat's powerful music reaches the ear of the slumbering Akasha (Aaliyah), the millennia-old "queen of the vampires" who was the first immortal bloodsucker. Akasha is soon free and embarking on a quest to seize control of the world with Lestat at her side. In the meantime, Lestat becomes an object of fascination for Jesse Reeves (Marguerite Moreau), member of a secret order studying the supernatural called the Talamasca, and a band of ancient vampires come together in an effort to stop Akasha, even though her destruction could potentially cause their own deaths. Queen of the Damned co-stars Lena Olin and Vincent Perez. ~ Karl Williams, Rovi

This movie is by far my favorite movie of all time. It gives you everything you want...A hot guy to look at, a thrilling romance, a mind boggling fight scene, and the ever popular sense of fear. Anne Rice did an amazing job with her novel, and though the movie strays far from the original...it is stll amazing. Stuart Townsend could capture anyone's heart. The only thing I would say is bad about this movie is that, like I said before; it strays too far from the original story line. GO BUY THIS MOVIE!!!!! :D

You just have to love a vampire movie. I always loved movies that had vampire characters because they are classic. The movie business keeps modernizing them and the movies get better and better. Aaliyah stars in this movie, and she plays her character quite well; you'd think she really was a vampire. I thought this movie was great; it left me wanting for more when it ended.

Let me say that I have been contemplating buying this film for some time now, & I'm really happy that I waited. Because, this is the edition I've been waiting for, while not knowing what it would be. Nice cover art, and, the 'Kong' movie doesn't hurt as well. Highly recommend this buy.

As the sequel to "Interview with the Vampire," I don't think it has quite the impact of Interview, but is very entertaining, nonetheless. For those that have read the "Vampire Chronicles," you'll appreciate the Lestat character with all his faults.

My daughter and I originally had a copy of this movie and lost it during our many moves. We couldn't live without so we had to go out and purchase another one. This time we were able to buy it on Bluray which we could not before.

I don' know why, but I have always loved this movie. I'm not that into rock/metal music, but for some reason I'm into most of the soundtrack for this movie. Aaliyah is also great in this.

While it falls short of "Interview With the Vampire," it is a more than adequate telling of the further adventures of Lestat and portrayal other key characters in the Vampire Chronicles.

I really enjoy the movie based on Anne Rice's book series. I am a huge Stuart Townsend and Gabrielle Union fan, as well. The music is awesome as well- love it!!!! Great movie.
