Q: QuestionCan i use windows in this laptop

• A:Answer No Windows. A chromebook is strictly for use on the Google Chrome internet browser. The Chromebook has a Google version of Word, Excel, etc. I haven't used any of it in much depth but you can definitely open a Word document and edit it but its functions may be limited. You cannot save/download software on a Chromebook. It's not made for that. It's made for basic use of the internet (any website you would normally go to on a daily basis). I've had mine for 2 years now and it's a great, fast device. It's good for people whose computer use is mainly things like Facebook, Banking, Netflix, Checking Email. I consider it just a tablet with a keyboard - in the shape of a laptop. There could be a little more to it that I'm not aware of but my use of it is very basic. Fits my needs.

• A:Answer I ordered it, all things point to a windows laptop the model # the description in the headline, the what's included, the overview. There is just one mention of a chrome book. If it is a chrome book it's going right back and I'll bring the product description with me to the store and try and get them to match with something else. Either way I'll let you know what it is when I receive it.

• A:Answer Microsoft word cannot be added. But both browser based word processors, such as Google drive, google documents and outlook one drive with word documents can be used to write for college. I'd recommend this for an affordable alternative. Lear which choice is best for you either Microsoft outlook's one drive and documents. Or Google's office suite. I used Google all through college and it got the job done, with honors. Pick one up, it's a great light weight affordable addition to the college library desktop PC. Once you learn to use them together.

• A:Answer Yes, this laptop will be perfect for college. It runs on Google Chrome browser, so you will have the native Google products available. You can still use Google Docs for items like spreadsheets, word documents, presentations. You just won't be able to run Microsoft software on this computer. You'll have access to Google Drive for document storage in addition to your Files folder. I used to email presentations to myself or save under Google Docs.

• A:Answer I have the HP Chromebook. Chromebooks are google based so they don't have Microsoft programs, windows being one of them. They use the google platform for everything. If you need to work on excel type spreadsheets or word type documents, you can access these types of programs on your google drive. Or you can always use the Microsoft Office Online, the free cloud version of Office, that is available as a webpage in the Chrome browser. I use both. The cool thing with both is that them being cloud based..if you start working on a word file on the Microsoft office online, you can save it and open it up later...same with the google drive. I guess it all depends on your preference. Hope this helps and good luck!!
