Yes, you can replace the HDD with a SATA III SSD, and upgrade the RAM to a max 16GB DDR4.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This laptop can support a single 2.5" HDD or SSD with SATA-3 Interface. It does not support a 2nd drive as you asked, you must replace the existing 1TB HDD with a SSD of your choice. Most reputable companies (ie Samsung, Intel, etc) have SSD's up to 4TB now so you could upgrade to a very large and fast drive. The system supports 2x 260-pin DDR4 SO-DIMMs. It comes with a single 8GB DDR4-2133 SO-DIMM, so it can easily be upgraded to 16GB at a very low cost (approximately $40 at the time of this reply). Other thoughts: It's great to see a manufacturer using a maximum supported module in 1 slot so that you don't have to replace both! However, this CPU has native support for DDR4-2400 (or LPDDR3-2133) so I'm not sure why they would skimp out on slower RAM when it costs little to nothing for them to use the faster 2400Mhz RAM?! Also note: This laptop does NOT support M.2 Drives (SATA or PCIe) which is pretty common for PC's in this price range.
