I've never heard of an "m.2 slot" but the computer does have an SD card slot and a CD/DVD drive among 3 USB ports. If you're using a micro SD card, you will need an adapter for the micro SD card and those usually come with name-brand SD cards. I didn't expect it to have a DVD drive since it wasn't listed in the specs but to my surprise, it certainly does and you can boot from a DVD or flash drive if you know how to do it on Windows 10. It's different booting from a DVD or flash drive on 10 than it was on 7 and other previous (Vista, XP etc.) Windows operating systems. Overall, it's a pretty good computer for the price and it should be sufficient for your needs. Much better than other computers at the same price range and not a refurbished computer. Hopefully, that answers your question.
