If the fan speed is throttled the computer will overheat and shut down. If you believe the fan is running at an unusual capacity you can reach out to HP Support for troubleshooting.

A:AnswerThere is a brightness key on the keyboard. If it is not making the screen brighter or dimmer then you need to update the graphics. You can do so by going to the device manager, from there the graphics would be very easy to find. Just right click it and update it.
